SP rules 2018 (cc GTH)
The streaming ratios have now been changed, so there is one ratio for streams from paying accounts (1:100) and a different from free streams (1:600). Where this will be on ACR as far as we’re aware, the streams will be taken as 1:200 and 1:1200 for chart purposes. The positive of the new rules is that the total streaming figure now also include video views as well.

SP rules 2017 (cc Jay)
ACR/SCR rules only apply to the weekly chart! A song's running total isn't affected by these rules. Total sales use the 100:1 ratio for streaming contribution.

Theoretical example, if Leona was streamed 1 million times, in 1 week:

If she was on ACR (300:1), it would be 3,333 sales from streaming
SCR (150:1) = 6,666 sales from streaming
For the song's overall total, it would be 10,000 sales from streaming (100:1) that would go towards the total

To answer Scene’s question from the previous thread, Better In Time went gold this year, so that is her most recent gold certified song.

Really good that the song is getting over 500k global streams a day at this point on Spotify. Being on the big playlists from the get go is paying off. Would love to see One More Sleep chart in a few more countries outside the UK this year as well.

So OMS will be her fifth hit over 400k? Or has Happy passed 400k too? Must've done about 240k by the end of 2009.

Thanks guys for all the stats and chart info. OMS going from 100k to 500k in a matter of 2 years on Dec 2nd is promising for its classic status. teresa.gif If streaming is here to stay for a long while yet (where else can music go?!!) maybe OMS could get to 1 million within the next 10 years. laugh.gif

Does the x factor promo take it off acr?

Syco would need to apply for it.

It will be interesting to see if Scarlett wins, which I don't think she will, how this charts. Will Leona get sole credit, Beyonce never received a credit on Perfect, or will they split the tracks like Sam Smith did with Lay Me Down where both the solo version and the duet with John Legend charted separately?

Posted by: PaulM1983 2nd December 2018, 03:54 PM

I'd imagine it'll be completely separate from the original, but it'll be interesting if the exposure gives Leona's solo track a boost.

What I do find odd is that they're making an overtly Christmas song the winner's single for Scarlett, yet the other 2 are not Christmas songs so will work any time of the year. This really limits the appeal for Scarlett's single massively.

Unless......and it's a big unless......the new duet version of One More Sleep is not about Christmas at all. They've maybe rewritten it as a ballad about it being one more sleep until a lover comes home or something along those lines.

Posted by: dancember 2nd December 2018, 03:58 PM

They've had a Christmas song as the Winners Single before (Matt Terry), also there's very little chance of Scarlett actually winning so I doubt they'll make an effort to change the lyrics to not relate to Christmas.

Posted by: Scene 2nd December 2018, 05:11 PM

Making a version which isn't about Christmas would be a terrible idea.

Posted by: BrookeOlivia 2nd December 2018, 05:31 PM

It hasn't been changed from the original christmas version don't worry laugh.gif

Posted by: Botchia 2nd December 2018, 05:35 PM

It would have to be a new arrangement to work...but Scarlett definitely won't win anyway! Nonetheless, a great chance for One More Sleep to have some more exposure and cement its place amongst the second tier of Christmas classics.

Posted by: BrookeOlivia 2nd December 2018, 05:41 PM

Leona did send in a new version of OMS but its not much different to the original apparently, Unsure if they recorded the newer version or stuck with the original.
But if they do go with the newer version for arrangement wise its not much different to the original I have heard.

Their version is the same as original, just a little bit different in production. Leona's vocals are the same except for some new adlibs here and there.

Posted by: PAJ88 2nd December 2018, 08:03 PM

Maybe Scarlett & Leona will do the amazon version from last year.

The ballad version.

Posted by: Envoirment 2nd December 2018, 08:07 PM

OMS is really slaying this year on spotify and iTunes compared to previous years. It's also getting a lot of streams from outside the UK, so hopefully it'll start doing well in many other countries for many Christmas' to come! cheer.gif

It was sooooo good! Loved it. Best performance of OMS since it's release.

In a strange way kind of glad it wasnt released as winners single, as loads of people will still just go to the original and download/stream - also pushing people to Christmas, With Love.

Loved all the judges comments too and how grateful Scarlett was to have her there. What a perfect start to OMS being huge this Christmas.

I think it’s fair to say that this already IS a Christmas classic now. It’s charted every single year since release, gets airplay, is included in streams etc.

Look at Matt Terry’s Christmas song - that did just as well as OMS in its first year and the past two years has done very little. I would say this is easily the biggest new Christmas song of the past 10 years.

To think a Christmas album sounded like a terrible idea for Leona's career back in 2013. laugh.gif The ACR situation is so frustrating though. It'll probably need to be firmly inside the top 15 on Spotify to have a chance of going top 40 officially. With Christmas on a Tuesday this year she stands a good chance tbh.

With album sales so low these days, I'd love to see CWL make another top 40 appearance one Christmas soon. It deserves Buble success.

A top 75 position at this stage is a great start for Leona. Only going to build as the weeks roll on. It’s top 50 on Spotify, so should benefit from the top 50 effect and not drop so quickly after the weekend. Looking in a very good position to potentially go gold even before Xmas week! cheer.gif

So happy this was performed on a big TV show again, I feel like the public needed a reminder of the song, and it came at the right time, 5 years after the original release.

It takes a while to become a proper Christmas classic, even Mariah, though a known Christmas classic, really took off as THE Christmas classic after Love Actually.

Leona Lewis – One More Sleep (2013)

Peak: 3
Combined sales: 377,000
Streams: 18.8m

One More Sleep's Motown-with-sleigh-bells sound made it feel like an instant classic when it was released in December 2013. It's one of the highest charting modern Christmas songs, topping out at Number 3, while the track itself perfectly captures the excitement of the build up to the big day.

#27 in today's mids! Imma eat my words regarding ACR, because she's managed it anyway! She'd be on a new post-release year peak of #14 without!

Is she likely to stay top 40 by friday do you think? Really pleased shes managed top 40 already even on ACR!

Most likely as the drop off in streams for Xmas songs over the weekend becomes less and less as we get closer to xmas. The song is doing well on iTunes/Apple music too (~#30 on iTunes combined and two versions on Apple music at #72 and #158).

Number 19 last year, However it wasn't on ACR last year which it is this year and pretty much halves its "stream sales"
Judging by how its going so far she might hit top 20 again though fingers crossed.
ACR is a pain in the arse though.

#23 in todays mids, amazing to be doing so well. Very curious to see where it peaks this year.
It will be Gold on Friday! Hope her label(?)/mgmt sort a plaque for her. Amazing to have another gold single added to her list, especially with BIT going gold this year too!
2019 definitely new music welcomed.

This arbitrary rule makes no sense and goes against what the UK chart was all about!

Posted by: Scene 11th December 2018, 06:55 PM

Would be amazing to see it enter the US Hot 100 this year. I think there was an influx of Christmas hits last year (Last Christmas hit its peak only last year) so if her playlist positions are decent I think she could potentially chart in the 80-100 region.

I think Pippa is aware of that, I think what was meant is new peak since its release, Which was #19 last year.
She would of easily outpeaked that this year and got a new repeak since its release in 2013.
Hopefully she can still get a repeak anyway even if its only #18 or something.

All its sales count towards its total regardless of its ACR status or if the OCC decide to remove Xmas songs from the chart entirely, an OCC rule change won't affect the song's ability to go Platinum.

How annoying at those bloody rules. I don't see what is wrong with the charts being dominated for two or three weeks with Christmas music at Christmas, if its what people are buying and streaming then it should be represented fairly in the charts.

I think it takes alot more to get it off ACR. I have read some notes from Syco and the Sony sales team has been really pushing OMS this year. I'm sure they could get it off ACR if they could but I think it's difficult..

The acoustic version last year has helped out too, 33% of the streaming comes from Amazon

I believe that's the highest it has been since its original release. Every year since release things haven't lined up. Either she gets good airplay/sales, or she gets good streaming/sales. This year all 3 have aligned and its doing so well. It also shows that if it gets as much exposure as the other Christmas songs it does just as well if not better chart-wise!

It is doing pretty good on all platforms, although I still think on Spotify if OMS was higher on CHRISTMAS HITS it would have had a big WW increase unfortunately it still at the bottom...also if they refresh Christmas crackers I think she could be higher than 20. The Italy Christmas main playlist gets weekly refresh.. the UK one is since October wtf

Looks unlikely though for this week hopefully she stays top 20 though, If she can hold #18 that would give her a new peak since 2013 though.
I am guessing next week chart may give her a new peak though we will see, Very happy with its performance this year giving the fact its on ACR.

This year you are permanently on ACR for songs older than 3 years, you can be back on SCR only if you promote the song and the label asks for the change.
Last year you needed an increase on sales of more than the double of the previous week to be back on SCR

With any luck she will still be promoting #LL6 this time next year , assuming it does actually get released next year! Speaking of which, early 2019 would be a great time for Leona's team to capitalise on the current buzz around her.

The ACR rules around getting back to SCR for songs over 3 years old are unclear at present, so it is all guessing until we actually have an actual manual reset from the OCC for a song. No other artist/label has had it done for a song affected by this rule as of yet.

100% would go with new material Jan/Feb.

#19 in todays mids. Looks like it will get the same peak as last year which is amazing. It will have big numbers from Fri-Tues (less so Tuesday but still Christmas Day) so it could still chart very well next week but obviously miss out on Weds & Thurs sales. I think naturally it gets a spike on Christmas Eve haha.
Bearing in mind #20-#15 are incredibly close in sales, less than a 1000 sales between those positions.

Queen of eternal relevance dance.gif I can see it climbing every year until it's considered one of the giants

Posted by: HurtMyHands 21st December 2018, 05:58 PM

I didn't know if anybody keeps track of Deezer here, or how much it contributes to the official charts, but OMS is now #39 on their UK chart - highest I've seen it. Second highest original Christmas song from this century (Santa Tell Me's the highest at 22). The playlist has almost 2 million followers so it must do decent numbers.

She's also a trending artist on there.

Posted by: pippa 21st December 2018, 06:36 PM

I am slightly disappointed it ended the week on number 19 as i had hopes of a new peak this year (outside the original).
It may manage this in the coming week.

Also up to 48 on Germany’s Apple Music (+41) seems to be gaining momentum there too which is great.

Not sure doing anything there, as it never did in the first place. Very different situation to over here as it was a hit on release.

Although OMS is doing pretty well on Apple Music in those countries, it's at 36 (+12) and 46 (+27) in Germany and Austria respectively. WW is now at 66 (+61) on Austrian Apple Music, and 76 (+35) in Germany (earlier's numbers were before today's update, as Apple updates quite late in the day).

It'll be interesting to see where OMS/WW peak in Germany, Austria and Canada. I really think they should devote some promo next year in Europe, especially Austria and Germany, and also Canada (when did she last perform anything there? Must've been years ago).

OMS charts at #41 (+9) in Ireland. Doesn't quite beat its post-release peak, but it's spent two weeks in the top 50 this year compared to one week last year, and not making it all in 2014-2016's top 100.

OMS chart run in Ireland:

2013: [25-19-28]
2014-2016: didn't chart.
2017: [98-70-67-33]
2018: [64-50-41]

OMS is also #69 on UK Apple Music today.

ACR applies in Ireland too (Irish chart rules are http://www.irma.ie/contentfiles/Irish%20Singles%20Chart%20Rules%20Sept%202018.pdf), so two weeks in the top 50 is still fantastic considering she only peaked at 19 even in year of release, and didn't chart at all in 2014-2016.

Amazing that it's officially #8 when many of us thought it would struggle to make top 20 or even top 40. I hope her team/label are closely watching!

124K. Sales of CWL have been really low, a shame due to the huge success of OMS. I'm guessing it's mainly due to not being stocked anywhere in stores but there was a slight increase in sales mainly streaming and download(even though album downloads are very very low in the industry now) led.

The 3 weeks leading in to Christmas it was selling 600-700 copies.

OMS - Total sales at 541k.

I had noticed that it wasn't stocked at all at my local HMV over Christmas, despite having a large area devoted to Christmas albums. They even had vinyl Mariah Merry Christmas but no Leona.

Yay at OMS charting in Switzerland for the first time. I imagine it will start popping up in other charts in minor positions over the next few years as it starts getting more international playlist support and success on spotify globally.

Would be nice indeed if the song charts in other countries coming years. It got to #9 in the Netherlands and #83 in Belgium (Wallonia) in their bubbling under charts.

Posted by: Envoirment 4th January 2019, 11:56 PM

Hopefully with OMS doing so well this year, stores will more readily stock the Xmas album? I think releasing a deluxe version and promoting it would be a smart idea. Help to push OMS some more but also perform some album tracks/Christmas classics on TV and spark a bit more interest in the album as a whole.

I was thinking about a deluxe version, would she have the rights to release one since she’s not with Syco? I’d also think she should give it a couple more years though, depending on how OMS continues to do. If it grows every year then a 10 year anniversary CWL edition could be mega (presuming album sales are still a thing by then).

This is included on the new Now Christmas compilation, Track 5 so should be a really nice booster for OMS this year.

Sadly, One More Sleep is likely the only time we will now see Leona on the singles chart.

That honestly doesn't bother me anymore, as long as she can release music and tour every few years then that is enough.

So...thoughts on chart placement this year?

I'd be happy with 3 weeks in the top 40 and a top 20 peak.
Im not expecting another Top 10....no exposure/X Factor performance etc.

I am baffled as to why it is doing so poorly on Spotify in comparison to Underneath the Tree by Kelly......

Because of its playlist positioning, here are the three main Playlists which come up on Spotify UK and track positions.

Christmas Hits - 1,834,715 Followers
Kelly - 13/90
Leona - 83/90

Christmas Pop - 1,350,244 Followers
Kelly - 7/98
Leona - 26/98

Christmas Is Coming - 803,861 Followers
Kelly - Not in Playlist
Leona - 10/41

Underneath The Tree has a massive advantage on Spotify because of it's high positions on the two biggest playlists.

Posted by: Jonjo 19th November 2019, 01:11 AM

And it's an absolute banger/not as many people are as familiar with UTT as they are OMS. ;D

I'm just so happy that OMS has really stood the test of time and become a UK Christmas staple, at least. wub.gif It's a modern day Christmas classic and deservedly so!

I still really wish they used 'Your Hallelujah' for the John Lewis ad the year after CWL was released as I feel like it's perfect for that kind of advert/promotion.

I have it, so the first two playlists are 100 Greatest Christmas Songs and she is track 11/100 and then Christmas Presents and she is track 2/50 and the One More Sleep Acoustic is track 35/50.

As for the chart, its weird. Kelly is at 15 but Leona doesn't appear in the Top 500, so clearly an error there. I hope the data correct data is at least being reported to the OCC.

I can't remember what week it was last year but Amazon apparently contributed to 33% of One More Sleep's streaming total that week, so its hugely important platform.

Posted by: Steve201 2nd December 2019, 10:25 PM

It's hugely important to UK smashes imo!

Posted by: Dmdr 5th December 2019, 12:02 AM

So One More Sleep has been moved up 33 spots on the most important and by far the biggest Christmas playlist, so she is now track 50/90, it still isn't high but that is still the right direction and should still help make a difference.

Also these are the updated figures from OCC.

Leona Lewis – One More Sleep (2013)

Peak: 3
Combined sales: 571,000
Streams: 38.3m

Still shocked at the streaming figures:

SPOTIFY UK WEEKLY #46
OFFICIAL STREAMING CHART #26

Amazon music with two versions has definetely something to do with it,
Apple and Deezer just have normal numbers like mid twenties or mid thirties

Also on Spotify UK she is down ten positions compared to last year at #36 plus on the overall streaming she was at #30, this year despite loosing 60k on Spotify she has still achevied a better position in the streaming chart

I so knew this would be a future classic back when I first heard it and it charted at like #34 in its debut week. It’s also a song what shows Leona can do up tempo (to those tasteless people who think she’s just one note).

Weird that Brit account did not post about platinum certification, I believe should be at least over 630k now

I get why they are putting out those videos since also you tube views count, but they are not really as good, nothing that could either going viral or keep people seeing multiple times... Still wish she made a video with a granny, children etc where they do the dance routine Leona did when singing live

Also I do not see the push on Spotify playlists where her placing is quite bad, the main streaming service is also the one where the song is performing very poorly compared to the others

It's currently #106 on global spotify and #93 on global apple music chart. It's been doing fairly well in streaming in a number of European countries. Although "Winter Wonderland" is hurting it as that is on a bunch of European Christmas playlists as opposed to "One More Sleep".

I do believe it's been hitting new peaks in streaming in a bunch of countries this year, so hopefully it'll manage to do better and better globally as the years go on. Fingers crossed it'll be used in ad campaigns/movies etc in the future to help it further.

Posted by: ChristmaSteve201 24th December 2019, 04:00 PM

That's the problem with Spotify they seem a lot more world wide based so OMS usually loses out a little to that.

Posted by: Dmdr 24th December 2019, 07:04 PM

Leona's management is now aware that Winter Wonderland is playlisted in a lot of European Country Playlists and apparently were going to try and sort it, hopefully they pull through next year and sort it out.

So this has snuck into the Spotify Top 200 at #200 today with 270,040 streams, it has only entered on Christmas Day on previous years, so another little show of growth.

Posted by: Dmdr 26th December 2019, 04:42 PM

Even though it hasn't done as well in the UK this year, still great though, it is still growing globally and hopefully that will be a trend that continues.

Number 44 here in ireland this week, really didn't think it wouldn't go top 40 this week.

Top 15in the uk isnt bad at all.

Posted by: Dmdr 27th December 2019, 06:34 PM

Top 15 is great.

I wonder what its total sales are now.

Posted by: oye_up86 27th December 2019, 08:23 PM

#15 is good considering it hasn't had last year's promo and it hasn't been included in big playlists in good positions. It's been its 3rd best year in terms of positions and maybe it's matched 2013's sales as well taking into account the song is ACR.

Posted by: ChristmaSteve201 27th December 2019, 10:44 PM

Leona has done just fine this year, it's hard to push on further and most songs stayed the same.

Posted by: oye_up86 27th December 2019, 11:10 PM

Remember that 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 were far worse than this year and the song wasn't even ACR, so all streams counted for charts. Going back to top10 would be awesome but it's not that easy having Mariah's AIWFCIY, Wham's LC, Ariana's streaming power, Bublé's Xmas appeal and current hit songs whose streams count double than Leona's. So this top15 is very good.
I wish she had more promo on TV, another videoclip, a CD re-edition and more streaming support.

Posted by: dancember 28th December 2019, 01:02 AM

She's done just more than just fine - she'd be top 10 if she wasn't on ACR and the 3rd highest Christmas song from this decade behind only Buble and Grande.
Song is a future classic!

Posted by: ChristmaSteve201 28th December 2019, 01:08 AM

Song is a current classic for me, certainly bigger than Santa Tell Me.

Posted by: oye_up86 28th December 2019, 02:11 AM

At least in sales, One more sleep has been bigger than Santa Tell Me. And all that with Ariana at her peak of popularity smile.gif

Posted by: ChristmaSteve201 28th December 2019, 02:15 AM

Yeh it's just a better song.

Imo if Ariana didn't go global following STM being released it wouldn't be anywhere near as played/streamed.

Posted by: Jonjo 28th December 2019, 10:20 AM

Well... obviously. huh.gif

Posted by: ChristmaSteve201 28th December 2019, 01:36 PM

Point being Leonas is a much better quality track.

IMO it's the greatest effort to create a good-quality, original and different Xmas song which could last forever since Mariah's AIWFCIY and not releasing a quick thing to take advantage of Xmas. I'm not including Bublé here because I think his Xmas album is too classical (I like it, though) but he didn't take any risk to create something really different.

Posted by: Dmdr 28th December 2019, 06:13 PM

I can't wait to find it how much it has sold this year.

Absolutely correct about Buble - his efforts for Cold December Night for instance was good but nothing different.

I don't know where you got the totals from but thank you so much! I was trying to figure out how much she sold last week to chart at #15 and I read that Sia at #17 sold almost 40k, so Leona would be in that region but multiplying that amount almost by 2 because of the ACR thing.

Anyway, it's great to see this was its 2nd best season in terms of sales (I thought it sold less than in 2013) and it's growing in many countries. Get that million in 2021 Leona!

Posted by: Jay ☆ 31st December 2019, 09:44 AM

One More Sleep has sold 747,276!

80,347 of that was achieved this week (10.75% of its overall total!). For the chart, that figure was reduced to 41,170 with ACR applied. It managed 1,993 download sales.

If there was no such thing as ACR, One More Sleep would have been #10 in this week's chart instead. It actually had higher consumption this week than the #1 single River by Ellie Goulding.

I guess this time next year it'll make it to something like 960,000, and like oyeup86 says will pass a million in 2021. It should be within touching distance of double platinum by the end of 2021!

I guess this time next year it'll make it to something like 960,000, and like oyeup86 says will pass a million in 2021. It should be within touching distance of double platinum by the end of 2021!

It might cross 1 million next year, especially if they finally get around to a re-release and proper promo again. I think now would be the time to release a deluxe, now that One More Sleep is a proper hit people will be more inclined to buy the album.

It's always SCR sales that contribute to a song's total sales, while ACR sales are used for the singles chart.

I wouldn’t say it’s stupid, it means that all songs are on a level playing field & have all of their consumption count. Why disregard sales for the total?

The concept of ACR sales was only ever designed to be a method of rearranging the order of songs for the weekly singles chart, in theory to make it fresher at the top.

Posted by: ChristmaSteve201 1st January 2020, 10:41 PM

Yeh but my second point is important as songs streamed will inevitably accumulate streams and they are counted as sales in a way which isn't the same as a real sale from back in the physical world.

The physical world is irrelevant though, we're long past that. Even downloads could be accumulated for years and years on end, they still can even if they barely matter. If a song is being streamed, it's important to count it to the total when streaming is included in the chart.

I think Christmas songs will struggle this year due to the lack of Christmas parties/spirit... really hard to predict

Posted by: Steve201 28th October 2020, 10:59 PM

True I think more will listen at home though similar to the streams on Xmas days. Who knows?

The split chart week this year will restrict the songs though

Posted by: No Sleeep 28th October 2020, 11:00 PM

Maybe but Halloween is shaping up to be a non-event this year so I feel like people won't really be in the Christmassy mood this year... I could be wrong and it could go the opposite way though

It was at 66 for me a couple days back but then got moved to 19 yesterday but apparently its not like that for everyone and has actually fallen to #69 for some. I checked on another forum and one person said its at 19 for them and another said 69 both from the UK like me, so I don't understand how that is possible, any ideas?

778k. I agree it'll be touch or go whether it passes 1m this year.

So 222,000 sales needed, this would have to be its biggest year to date. I do hope they have TV promo to help push it some as well.

2013 - Sales total - 131,000
2014 - Sales total - 160,000 (+29,000)
2015 - Sales total - 191,000 (+31,000)
2016 - Sales total - 235,000 (+44,000)
2017 - Sales total - 329,000 (+94,000)
2018 - Sales total - 535,000 (+206,000)
2019 - Sales total - 748,000 (+213,000)

I don't think they should be pushing anything other than One More Sleep to be honest, give it all the attention and effort and help it truly cement itself as the new classic.

How many years until it becomes her highest seller

Posted by: Liam.k. 25th November 2020, 05:04 PM

'Bleeding Love' was on 1.5m as of March 2019, an increase of 226k since the previous total of 1.274m as of September 2017. That would suggest it sells about 151k a year and puts its total at 1.751m (it could be higher as streaming continues to grow, but it's definitely not over 1.8m yet as it would be certified 3x Platinum).

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 25th November 2020, 05:20 PM

Cant see it reaching a million this year but it will be there this time next year which is a great result for the song.

I am going to remain hopeful, she said One More Sleep is being 're-released' this year so hopefully that implies some good promo to come.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 25th November 2020, 07:05 PM

Good promo would be great and would boost its chances.

Should easily pass 1 million this year imo given how Christmas songs have all been doing a lot better earlier this year due to the Pandemic. Plus it looks like Leona & her team will be actively pushing it once again.

There is no such thing as re-release in the digital era, Leona. drama.gif

Charts at #72 this week, supposedly its earliest entry since release year in 2013. Is Top 40 too much to hope for next week?

Posted by: Dmdr 28th November 2020, 12:14 PM

So the performances they had planned are most likely cancelled.

Posted by: Wall 29th November 2020, 06:46 PM

It’s a shame Spotify hate this

It’s #8 on Apple Music, could sneak top 40 this week

Posted by: Dmdr 29th November 2020, 07:23 PM

Yeah its support on Spotify is annoying, everytime I check its position it seems to be moved lower and lower. On the main playlist its now dropped to 74/113.

One of her performances for Magic Radio today.

I'll post the One More Sleep performance once its uploaded.

Hope she continues to climb, she seems to be shaded by Ariana and Kelly in the playlists this year!

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 1st December 2020, 01:18 AM

Hopefully top 30 this week I know leona was against the Christmas album at the time but she has embraced it especially one more sleep and she is lucky it's become an annual hit, anyone have up to date totals on her Christmas album sales?

Posted by: Christmasteve201 1st December 2020, 01:46 PM

Yeh it’s probably revived her somewhat and will keep her name legendary every year this century!

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 1st December 2020, 07:10 PM

Its def helped revive her in some way, it would be nice if she could get another new song to also chart, the reason with callum scott deserved to have been a much bigger hit than it was, i know it sold ok considering its low position.

Posted by: Christmasteve201 1st December 2020, 08:18 PM

It’s not supported enough on Spotify this year to mange that unfortunately. In fact the main reason it’s even as high as #21 in the midweeks is thanks to Apple Music. On 20th December it was #21 on Spotify (also 21st highest Christmas song) whereas on Apple Music it’s currently #5 (4th highest Christmas song).

Posted by: Scene 22nd December 2020, 09:15 AM

Leona needs to cut a deal with Alexa. kink.gif

Posted by: Christmasteve201 22nd December 2020, 10:42 AM

Just shows how streaming actually doesn’t represent damn all except what playlists people choose to have on in the background.

Thank god for Apple Music or we would have a chart dominated by American Xmas songs.

Posted by: oyeup86 25th December 2020, 06:25 PM

Finally #18 in UK! This season was a lot more competitive than others, so at least top20. I wish we know its sales soon!

Posted by: oyeup86 25th December 2020, 08:33 PM

Besides hitting top20 in the UK, raising to #18, OMS goes up to #42 in Ireland. This is its chart-run in the Irish charts in 2020, which I think it's been its longest-charting season: 78-56-57-42.

UK:
18
(27) One more sleep (28 weeks)

Ireland:
42
(57) One more sleep (14 weeks)

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 25th December 2020, 08:34 PM

Wish we can also get an update of her other singles total sales biggrin.gif

Posted by: oyeup86 26th December 2020, 12:58 PM

I think it's better for OMS to hit the million mark next season. If Leona is touring with Gary Barlow next November is maybe because she has new material, so reaching 1M next November is also good publicity for Leona's new music.

Total sales stand at 996k as of the w/e 7th January! It'll be a million seller before the time it re-enters the chart later this year (Mariah, Wham and The Pogues all sold 30k+ outside of the charts last year).

That is what I didn't want, it hitting that landmark outside of the festive period won't garner any attention or accolades unfortunately.

Still amazing to see it sell so well obviously. Thanks for letting us know.

Likely to go double platinum next year then!
Won't be long before its her "biggest" hit
What is the total sales for her biggest selling hit? Of course all her older songs will have mainly paid for sales

"Bleeding Love" is close to 1.3 million I believe. It should overtake "Bleeding Love" in 2022 (perhaps even 2021 if it gets re-promoted or better playlist support on spotify).

Anyone know how far A Moment Like This is from a million.

The last update I saw was 2 and a half years ago and it was on 957k.

Great that she isn't far off 4 million selling singles.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 10th January 2021, 03:02 PM

I'm glad it's going to be a million seller as it's one of her best songs. I doubt when she released it she ever thought it would be such a huge hit and there is a chance it will end up her biggest selling single in a few years time.
