Germany was finally able to break the bottom 2 last year thanks to Michael Schulte and his 4th place finish in Lisbon. Naturally, the selection process that resulted in Michael is returning for 2019. The six finalists for Unser Lied für Israel were revealed by NDR this week.
Aly Ryan BB Thomaz Gregor Hägele Lilly Among Clouds Linus Bruhn Makeda Purple The acts are currently working on their potential entries for Tel Aviv, with the songs being released sometime in the new year. Germany have a good track record at Israeli hosted Eurovision's, finishing 4th and 3rd in 1979 and 1999 respectively. |

Aly Ryan has this solid bop to her name so I'm going to be paying attention to her for sure

Laurel who wrote Stones and Legends last year has written Sister *.* I have 0 idea who any of these acts are so no immediate hype or faves other than that.

These are all out now! Wear Your Love BANGS in a BJSC pop winner kind of way. Surprise is also very good.
None of them are bad but the two male entries are fairly uninspiring as is Demons which kind of reminds me of Stones and Sisters are giving me "Maid if they could sing" vibes (that isn't meant to sound quite as bad as it does ) Giving how this season is going so far, I'm ready for Wear Your Love to bomb in favour of one of the two boring male entries. |

Agree that none are bad but that “Wear Your Love” is the biggest bop. I’d say that “Our City” and “Demons” are my second and third faves.
I hope that they don’t choose “Let Me Go” which I worry could happen to try and replicate the huge success of Michael, and the girls are more likely to split the vote. |

It was one of the best live performances but I thought Lilly Among Clouds was Eurovision-winning worthy performance-wise there!

Oh my god EVERY country is choosing totally wrong this year I think Australia and Italy are the only NFs where the one I wanted to win did (I was resigned to Mi sento bene not winning the latter nad Soldi has grown to totally outstrip that) :/

well this is all forms of boring
I wonder if this is gonna be the first time buzzjack collectively skips out on Eurovision. probably not bc we have no self control but these entries are really making a good case! |

I have no idea what the competition for this entry was but as whatever as it is, it must be Germany's best entry in years. Their standards are bad enough that this is an improvement.
