I wonder what the hold up with Ireland announcing their artist is?

Couldn't find a source saying they confirmed Janet Devlin but I will be very delighted to see her on the stage! She is a great indie artist with some excellent songs like "Creatures of the Night" and "House of Cards".

I would prefer una over Janet as I was never a big fan of Janet's voice but hopefully if its true it's a strong song so we can build on last years result.

I wonder what the hold up with Ireland announcing their artist is? Quite a lot of call here for Ireland to boycott the event this year, although RTE has said they are sending an act. The act might be proving hard to find cos of the politics This post has been edited by Mullo: 28th February 2019, 02:57 PM |

I'm seeing that it's a female soloist "UK audiences know" so Janet Devlin would make sense, people are also suggesting Samantha Mumba. The latter is much more preferable tbh but I could see them going for Janet, she seems about right.

I'm not mad on Janet so kinda hoping it's not her. It'll probably be Una Healy or Flynn. There's been some speculation around the latter lately and he keeps denying it but then he said there's a big announcement tomorrow so who knows.

Sarah McTernan will go to Tel Aviv for Ireland with '22'
Does Denmark SO much better, not as sickly sweet as that. |

Really lovely, charming entry and she has a good voice.
I can see this being my favourite Irish entry in many years, hope it qualifies! |

Omg to think there were so many good rumours and we get some randomer off The Voice I do really like that though, I agree it does what Denmark is trying to do but better as she has a stronger voice and it's just got a bit more oomph.

Ireland should qualify 2 years in a row with this.
Solid effort. |

I don't get the Denmark comparison at all; good entry anyway - hopefully another final for them!

When I saw the name pop up on the news on the way to work this morning I was like "the chances of this being woeful are HUGE" but it's actually quite nice!
RTÉ are definitely on the right track. They must have dumped the old guard who usually run this process. |

Its very different for us and our most modern entry in a few years. Hopefully we can qualify again this year and build on Ryan's success last year.

She performed it here in Ireland last night on dancing with the stars and it came across well.
