I might be imagining this but I feel like there's a bit of a conception amongst some pop stans and especially certain fanbases that Rihanna's albums are packed with filler and she's mostly good for quick 'lil singles. I've always disagreed with this but listening to her albums more frequently recently (still haven't touched AGLM D:) makes me realise just how strong they are! Honestly her album filler rate is so low for me, I mean I'd love most things if Rih's voice was attached to it but the album tracks are more than good. I've been making an effort to get into TTT more especially as there's always been 4-5 tracks I'd put as filler and I'm now loving them as well :') The navy asks, the navy gets apart from the last 3 years She's still my absolute fave wub.gif

But I'd still say there's an average of around 2 filler songs on every album, minus Rated R which is 13 fantastic songs. That might be her best overall for me now! ANTI comes close but Higher and Close To Me let the team down, Unapologetic has Get It Over With (the dullest song she's ever put her name to lol), TTT still has Farewell which is meh, Loud has Cheers and Raining Men (eek) and GGGB has Lemme Get That which I honestly think is the worst song of her career :') as well as Hate That I Love You and Say It.

But what do you think of Rihanna's albums? x

I don't think she has a perfect album yet (very few pop artists do tbf) but I think she came closest with Loud. I would consider 'Fading' to be more filler than 'Cheers' which I feel had more effort put into it. Raining Men definitely lets the album down though. But the highs are HIGH: S&M, WMN, OGITW, CKB, MD, Complicated, Skin, LTWYL PII. wub.gif A true pop classic!

Besides her debut, I think Unapologetic has the most filler. By that album I think the annual album cycles were affecting the quality and it seemed really phoned in imo. kink.gif Anti isn't anywhere near my favourite album by her but I can appreciate it seemed to have more thought put into it.

Rated R for me is a perfect album.

A cohesive dark masterpiece what was ahead of its time and so mature considering her age at the time of its release.

One of my favourite albums ever!

Loud is a perfect album as well the total opposite of Rated R but the contrast between the two paid off really well as it showed her versatility.

Yes she does: Rated R coffee.gif

As Jordan says "cohesive dark masterpiece" - that's a perfect summary!

I love that we have the same taste in Rihanna wub.gif and Gaga a lot of the time come to that laugh.gif

I always get people to listen to Rated R though when they have the impression Rihanna is a puppet etc. Like that ain’t an album a label is gonna want you to release age 21 but she did THAT!

Rated R and ANTI.

Neither are perfect but they're definitely the closest — especially Anti.

They're her only two albums that feel like a cohesive piece of work, rather than a patchwork of singles.

Rated R is her best album, minus Stupid In Love - it's perfect.

Second is ANTI, such a great album. I listen to every track minus Work purely from overplaying it when it first came out.

Third would be Unapologetic and fourth would be Good Girl Gone Bad.

I don't return to the rest of her albums a whole lot but if I had to rank them:

5th: Loud
6th: Talk That Talk
7th: A Girl Like Me
8th: Music Of The Sun
