73. Girls Aloud - The Show (2004) - 8.0

Country : United Kingdom
Chart results : # 2 in UK, # 9 in Ireland

Finally I found a place for something mainstream in this countdown. Girls Aloud is my second favourite girl band, only YVA have more songs in top 100.

"The Show" was the lead single from second Girls Aloud album “ What Will The Neighbours Say?”. This song continuing the band's string of hits by becoming the fifth consecutive top 3 single in UK. In my chart “The Show” was their second number one hit after “No Good Advice” in 2003 year.

“The Show” clip is my second favourite Girls Aloud music video, only behind “Can’t Speak French”.

The story takes place in a salon called "Curls Allowed." Each member of the band plays a character working in the salon, pampering and making-up a variety of men. Nicola Roberts is "Chelsea Tanner," who sprays insulting messages with fake bronzer onto her male customers; Nadine Coyle is "Frenchie", who ineptly tries to give her male customers facials; Sarah Harding is "Supa Styler", a hair stylist who fails to satisfy any of her customers; Cheryl Cole is "Maxi Wax", who makes the waxing process as painful as possible; and Kimberley Walsh is "The Boss", who looks on amusedly as her employees take their revenge on the salon's male customers.

“Have A Cheeky Christmas” spent one week at # 1 in my chart and after it was dethroned by other Christmas hit.

70. Moje 3 - Ljubav Je Svuda (2013) - 8.5

Country : Serbia

My all-time top 100 Eurovision songs list was compiled in 2018 year, but I did a biggest mistake when missed this entry. Now it’s a good time to fix it.

"Ljubav Je Svuda" is a song released by girls trio Moje 3, which consists of Mirna Radulovic, Nevena Bozovic and Sara Jovanovic. It is best known as Serbian entry on Eurovision Song Contest - 2013.

The ladies also recorded English language version under the title “Love Is All Around”.

YVA must do a copycat of this performance. Just imagine Kristina in angel's outfit with halo and wings and Goda in the role of sexy devil.

65. Mokinukes - Meluok Meluok (2008) - 8.5

Country : Lithuania

Famous pop group Mokinukes (Schoolgirls) was created in 2003 year. It all started in Marijampole, the seventh-largest city in Lithuania. Laima Lapkauskaite had the idea to gather a group of six girls and call her "Schoolgirls". The classic line-up are a lead singer Iruna Puzaraite, her sister Ineta, Simona Naine, Kristina Lepsyte, Ruta Zilionyte (my favourite member) and Ieva Vaitiekuniene.

Mokinukes quickly found a way into the hearts of the listeners and became the member of “Big 4”. It’s an unofficial name, which I like to use for four most successful Lithuanian girl groups, others are Mango, YVA and 69 Danguje.

“Meluok Meluok” (Lie, Lie) is available on their 4th studio album “Noriu But Laisva” (I Want To Be Free).

63. Shampoo - Girl Power (1996) - 8.5

Country : United Kingdom
Chart results : # 25 in UK

Old Pearls’ record was broken, when “Girl Power” became the fourth consecutive number one for Shampoo in my retro chart. Even YVA didn’t have such impressive start, so possibly it’s eternal record for girl groups.

A cover version of Gary Numan's # 1 hit "Cars" was a B-side on "Girl Power" single.

61. Wir 3 - Liefdeskapitein (2008) - 8.5

Country : Germany

Wir 3 (We three) was the German version of the popular girl group K3.

Stemming from the success of K3 in Netherlands and Belgium, in 2007 Studio 100 decided to make a similar band to it abroad. In the end, Germany was picked as the place of origin for this new band due to its size and the similarities between the German and Dutch languages.

Similarly to K3, Wir 3 had 3 female members : red haired Lina Sasnauskaite (she is Lithuanian), blonde Linda Hesse, brunette Vera Huebner.

K3 version of “Liefdeskapitein” was top 10 hit in Belgium and Netherlands.

60. Liveon Release - I’m Afraid Of Britney Spears (2001) - 8.5

Country : Canada

Short-lived pop/punk band from Vancouver Liveon Realise enjoyed the hit single “I’m Afraid of Britney Spears” which appeared on “Dude, Where’s My Car?” soundtrack. They released two albums in 2002 and 2003 years before disbanding. The band’s name comes from basketball jargon. After the group split up lead vocalist Colette Trudeau decided to pursue a solo career.

“I’m Afraid of Britney Spears” video had good airplay on MTV Russia, but didn’t bring a hit for Liveon Realise in my home country.
