Example Whisky Story - Chart Run: xx Release date: 10-07-2015 Format: Digital single Label: Sony Music Chart sales: - Sales only chart peak: - Streaming only chart peak: - Video here: Biography His initials being E.G., English MC/vocalist Elliot Gleave performed under the name Example. Gleave got his feet wet as an MC while attending Royal Holloway, where he met Joseph Gardner (aka Rusher) and recorded a concept album in the audio booth of the university's film department. "A Pointless Song," one of the tracks recorded there, became Example's first release, a 2004 single on his All the Chats label. A handful of successive 12" singles, as well as an answer song to Lily Allen's "Smile" — "Vile," issued on The Beats, the label run by the Streets' Mike Skinner — gained the attention of several BBC DJs. What We Made, Example's debut album, followed on The Beats in 2007 but failed to make much of a commercial impact. A deal with Ministry of Sound's Data label and an overt focus on reaching the clubs, however, fostered chart success. Released in 2009, "Watch the Sun Come Up," produced by the Fearless, peaked in the Top 20 of the U.K. pop chart, while both "Won't Go Quietly" (also produced by the Fearless) and "Kickstarts" (Sub Focus) reached the Top Ten and topped the dance chart. The full-length Won't Go Quietly was released in June 2010 and featured the pre-album hits, as well as productions from MJ Cole, Calvin Harris, Chase & Status, and Björn Yttling (of Peter Bjorn and John). Featuring the hits "Stay Awake" and "Changed the Way You Kissed Me," his 2011 effort, Playing in the Shadows, debuted at number one on the U.K. album charts. Calvin Harris, Benga, and Dada Life were some of the producers whose work was found on his 2012 effort, The Evolution of Man. In 2013 the career-spanning #hits ended the artist's relationship with Ministry of Sound, as he had signed with the Epic Records label. - iTunes Chart history - Top 100 (Year peak title): 2009 19 Watch The Sun Come Up -1- 2010 06 Won't Go Quietly -2- 2010 03 Kickstarts -3- 2010 29 Monster (Professor Green Feat. hi guys!
really hope Avicii holds on to his #6 from the mids, it would be even more disappointing if Waiting For Love were to be outpeaked by The Nights so that would be great. Also cheering on Sam Feldt to keep his top 3 And also hoping R1 sort themselves out regarding playing new entries this week although I don't wanna get my hopes up too much (but the Score song doesn't sound too great anyway so it's no huge loss) Retro reshufflings ~ 2014 +5 9- GECKO (OVERDRIVE)- Oliver Heldens X Becky Hill (29,460) +4 7- RIGHT HERE- Jess Glynne (38,214) +3 2- PROBLEM- Ariana Grande Ft Iggy Azalea (48,383) +2 4- GHOST- Ella Henderson (46,100) +1 8- SING- Ed Sheeran (33,388) -1 5- BUDAPEST- George Ezra (44,822) -2 1- ME AND MY BROKEN HEART- Rixton (63,478) -3 3- IT’S MY BIRTHDAY- Will.i.am Ft Cody Wise (46,619) :/ -4 6- YOUR LOVE- Nicole Scherzinger (41,062) :/ -5 10- STAY WITH ME- Sam Smith (28,989) 2010 +5 2- WE NO SPEAK AMERICANO- Yolanda Be Cool Vs D Cup (70,333) +4 3- LOVE THE WAY YOU LIE- Eminem Ft Rihanna (68,354) +3 4- CALIFORNIA GURLS- Katy Perry Ft Snoop Dogg (59,555) +2 1- AIRPLANES- B.o.B Ft Hayley Williams (75,980) +1 6- BANG BANG BANG- Mark Ronson with Business Intl (50,170) -1 5- JUST BE GOOD TO GREEN- Professor Green Ft Lily Allen (55,779) -2 9- I LIKE IT- Enrique Iglesias Ft Pitbull (37,661) -3 10- MY FIRST KISS- 3OH3! Afternoon all! I'm not really huge on the Little Mix or Sam Feldt songs oops. Ah well...
Retro faves: 2014 2- PROBLEM- Ariana Grande Ft Iggy Azalea (48,383) 3- IT’S MY BIRTHDAY- Will.i.am Ft Cody Wise (46,619) 5- BUDAPEST- George Ezra (44,822) 8- SING- Ed Sheeran (33,388) 9- GECKO (OVERDRIVE)- Oliver Heldens X Becky Hill (29,460) Not huge on Rixton at all, although at least this wasn't as bad as their follow-up. 'Your Love' has got to be Nicole's worst song to date. 2010 1- AIRPLANES- B.o.B Ft Hayley Williams (75,980) 2- WE NO SPEAK AMERICANO- Yolanda Be Cool Vs D Cup (70,333) 3- LOVE THE WAY YOU LIE- Eminem Ft Rihanna (68,354) 6- BANG BANG BANG- Mark Ronson with Business Intl (50,170) 9- I LIKE IT- Enrique Iglesias Ft Pitbull (37,661) 'Airplanes' was such a fabulous number one single Great top three entirely actually, fond memories relating to 'We No Speak Americano' and ever since the overplay died down for 'Love the Way You Lie' it's a brilliant listen. 2005 2- GHETTO GOSPEL- 2Pac Ft Elton John (28,669) 3- WE BELONG TOGETHER- Mariah Carey (27,360) 5- CRAZY CHICK- Charlotte Church (17,800)* 6- SINCE U BEEN GONE- Kelly Clarkson (16,400)* 7- ROC YA BODY (MIC CHECK 1,2)- MVP (13,600)* 8- AXEL F- Crazy Frog (13,200)* 9- NASTY GIRL- Inaya Day (11,687) 10- SHOT YOU DOWN- Audio Bully’s Ft Nancy Sinatra (11,200)* Still such an excellent top 10 on the whole. 'Nasty Girl' a new entry *.* That has always sounded so much bigger than a number 9 single! 2000 1- LIFE IS A ROLLERCOASTER- Ronan Keating (94,458) 2- BREATHLESS- The Corrs (63,000) 3- THE REAL SLIM SHADY- Eminem (52,000)* 5- TRY AGAIN- Aaliyah (38,000)* 7- WOMAN TROUBLE- Artful Dodger Ft Robbie Craig & Craig David (32,000)* 8- WILL I EVER?- Alice Deejay (30,000)* 9- SANDSTORM- Darude (27,000)* 10- GOTTA TELL YOU- Samantha Mumba (25,000)* Okay so 'Life Is a Rollercoaster' and 'When You Say Nothing At All' are both such guilty pleasures by Ronan, haha. Elsewhere, love a bit of Aaliyah, 'Try Again' is definitely up there with her best. 1995 1- BOOM BOOM BOOM- Outhere Brothers (77,000) 2- ALRIGHT/ TIME- Supergrass (64,000) 3- SHY GUY- Diana King (60,000) 4- A GIRL LIKE YOU- Edwyn Collins (40,000)* 8- KISS FROM A ROSE/ I’M ALIVE- Seal (27,000)* 'Kiss From a Rose' is one of my favourite songs ever, soooo gorgeous. |
