The week beginning 18/12 is basically like a normal week apart from the fact the series that have been on since October have all ended so they have a movie or a special instead.

Can't believe they've demoted totp to 12.25pm on xmas day - it's been on at 2pm for like ever???!!! And there's no NYE episode!

Wow ITV have clearly given up after all the low ratings they’ve recieved over Christmas week in recentyears!

BBC is also looking VERY stale, it’s the same formula year in year out! Nothing really special about Christmas TV anymore! I see they’ve managed to filltheir pulled Agatha Christie adaptation though.

Will be interesting to see how U2 at the BBC will perform compared to the Harry Styles and Sam Smith editions. Tuesday at 9pm is typically a really good slot for the BBC but whether or not it's suitable for a music show and whether it can hold up against the RVP remains to be seen.

Nothing at all is interesting me this year. sad.gif The Agatha Christie was the one thing I was looking forward to tbh. Still, New Year's Day is looking promising with the return of the Eastenders double bill and McMafia starting (I assume it'll be shown on the 2nd too and continue with that Tuesday slot).

Very pleasantly surprised to see Gone Girl pop up on primetime BBC One. It's certainly not a very BBC One friendly film laugh.gif

Slightly disappointed at Spectre being thrown against McMafia on New Year's Day. That's possibility going to kill it off before it even has a chance :s

On the whole, the BBC's schedule is very safe but then odd after Christmas Day. You can tell a drama went missing from the schedules there. Meanwhile ITV is just plain lazy.

Gutted that Charlie Brooker is not doing his yearly wipe programme this year. That is usually my favourite TV programme during the festive period.

QUOTE(Houdini @ Dec 5 2017, 02:44 PM) *
Gutted that Charlie Brooker is not doing his yearly wipe programme this year. That is usually my favourite TV programme during the festive period.

Indeed, won't feel the same not having Charlie sardonically analysing the year sad.gif

Really dull schedule, nothing even remotely excites me except the films, but I've seen them all anyway (though I think I'd prefer Prisoner of Azkaban a tenth time than Cinderella) sad about the Top of the Pops move, that won't do much for it's ratings :x

It's the repeats I'm looking forward to more than anything! laugh.gif Will be staying up on Christmas Eve to watch The Vicar of Dibley and The Two Ronnies - absolute classics!

Might stick Christmas TOTP on, will probably give Doctor Who another go and of course Eastenders, but that's pretty much it for my Christmas schedule as far as BBC1 and ITV go. Come the New Year, I'll definitely be watching McMafia - seems set to be massive for the BBC!

Is there any schedule for Channel 4 & Channel 5 yet? I'm expecting Big Fat Quiz Of The Year & Most Shocking Celebrity Moments to make their annual return on those two channels.

Does anyone remember the "Most Annoying People Of The Year" programme? that was a programme that I always used to look forward to until they randomly stopped showing it.

Schedules for Channel 4, Channel 5 and Sky, as well as Netflix highlights, can be seen below:

Bake Off going head to head with Call the Midwife - I'm sure the latter will have higher rating but will be interesting to see if they're significantly dented or not.
