This looks absolutely brilliant! I'm getting major 'Carrie'-esque (1970's original ofc) teas from this. So if it's even a little bit as good as that, then I'm gonna enjoy this!

I wonder if this will be an awards contender? If so, what was the last horror to receive big award coverage and nominations? Google lists 'Black Swan', but I honestly don't get how that is a horror, personally haha.

Apparently the most controversial movie since A Clockwork Orange. Now THAT is some high praise ohmy.gif ohmy.gif

I think a movie like this could be snubbed off at the oscars as some responses from the private screening are guaranteeing that the film will divide audience and critic opinion.

I am ecstatic to see this though!

I'm really hoping this is good, but I have seen very differing views from reviews out so far.

Just come out of this and I'm not really sure what to think of it but I think I liked it?! It really is insane and the tension created by Aronofsky was tough to handle at times. Jennifer Lawrence did a great job portraying the worry and growing rage that her character had and you really felt for her when you saw how helpless she was. The most harrowing moment in the film for me was when you heard the snap of the baby's neck and realised what the crowd were doing with its body afterwards. but there were so many moments that were twisted and disturbing.

I was a bit unsure what the film was really about after seeing it (even though I got some of the biblical references) but I think the message of the film was pretty interesting and telling it via The Bible was a unique way of doing things. I like the interpretation that Lawrence was mother nature/Bardem was God/Harris & Pfeiffer were Adam & Eve etc. and the film was discussing damaging the planet and consequences that has but framed from a biblical perspective. I'm excited to do some more reading up on this and the different interpretations and references there are, this will definitely have me thinking for a few days...

I would really urge you to read this article AFTER you see the film as it helped me understand the references and meaning behind the film a lot more.

I thought this was absolutely diabolical, disgusting and had no real purpose. The final scenes just got me angry.

omg i've never seen such strong reactions to a film before! Lots of people seem to DETEST it while others find it weird but seemed to have thought it was good.

I'm so intrigued!

You'll see why when you see it! Aside from needing an encyclopedic knowledge of the Bible to even know what's going on at all, there are some pretty disgusting and controversial scenes where a few people in my screen just walked straight out...

The number of people in my screening had almost halved by the time the film finished laugh.gif I didn't really know what to think of the film until reading up what it all means until after which did make me appreciate it more but I'm still quite shocked at how far they actually went with some scenes in the film.

this was incredible and not at all weird to me.

i loved this unusual Bible interpretation and after realising some stuff and talking it out with other people who also watched it the whole thing definitely makes sense and the last minutes of the film become quite beautiful and necessary.

Although I did feel a bit weird being in the crowd for a few hours after the movie.
