Emma covered Santa Baby in 2019, including it alongside her Christmas original song Coming Home for Christmas. Santa Baby has proved to be more popular with Spotify listeners, and has passed half a million streams!

Track 7 - Emma Bunton - Coming Home for Christmas



This is such a cute song, and I think it's a pity it's gone pretty unnoticed outside of her fanbase! With a little over 100,000 plays on Spotify, it can't have particularly good playlist presence. I think Emma should have properly gone for it and recorded a few more Christmas songs and thrown out an album with a few formats. Surely she could have bagged herself another Top 20 album?

I love Christmas wrapping shame Mel B and Victoria are not on it though. Love the reworked lyrics “world tours airplanes and babies met some guy but never the time most of 98 was along those lines” although for some reason I thought it was world tours airplanes and movies for a bit lol!?!?

Not really a fan of Emma’s version of Santa baby sounds a bit too icky. Then again I don’t like the annoying creepy baby way of singing the song it’s not nice at all.

I feel like Kylie kind of nails the seductive nature of it without sounding too baby-ish, I don't think Emma did it quite so well hmm!
