When Eminem's New Album is going to release? heart.gif rolleyes.gif

Hopefully soon if he is gonna serve up more bops!

Posted by: Atonement 31st July 2017, 12:30 PM

Ready for the next Em & Rih collab tbh.

Posted by: Hadji 10th October 2017, 06:25 PM

He’s rumoured to be releasing it on 17th November. I hoped for a 10th November release and that way, he could deny Taylor Swift a #1 album but if he did release on the 10th, Taylor could beat him to #1

Posted by: The Burbadook 10th October 2017, 08:14 PM

Really interested to see what he comes up with this time!

It's been so long since The Marshall Mathers LP 2 :/

Posted by: ML Hammer95 11th October 2017, 08:03 AM

There's an anti-Trump freestyle circulating on the internet that he's apparently performing tonight.

Posted by: DANKENSTEIN 11th October 2017, 11:27 AM

Just watched that. I hope the comeback single isn't similarly overtly political though, much as I dislike Trump. Would seem like career suicide especially in America.

Posted by: 28 Brays Later 11th October 2017, 12:13 PM

It's great that he's done this, very 'brave' of him to basically call out a fairly substantial chunk of his fanbase (it might be 'career suicide' to some degree but he's past his prime anyway, nothing can take away from his previous career achievements). I'm here for an angry anti-Trump Eminem *.* I just hope his comeback isn't another piss weak pop track a la 'Guts Over Fear'.

Posted by: DANKENSTEIN 11th October 2017, 12:45 PM

I'm hoping for something along the lines of Berserk or Rap God rather than one of his angry songs or pop crossover hits.

He has been away a while so I think Taylor would outsell him here in the UK.

Is it a Hottest Record on radio 1 or anything?

Posted by: Rooney 11th October 2017, 07:20 PM

I hope not. It would be as embarrassing as when “Wrecking Ball” beat “Berzerk” to #1 in the singles chart in 2013

Posted by: troublepink 12th October 2017, 08:08 AM

Revenge, the song he's done with Pink for her album, is amazing!

Really surprised that I like it, considering that I don't care much for the other two tracks they've done together, but Revenge is so much fun, one of my favourites on her new album heart.gif

Posted by: DANKENSTEIN 12th October 2017, 05:30 PM

Are we getting a proper Eminem single this week then or just his feature on P!nk's?

Posted by: Juan Carlos 🌴 6th November 2017, 08:34 PM

The album is called Revival and it will be out on November 17.

He has a performance at Saturday Night Live the following day and looks like he will be performing at the MTV EMAs this Sunday.

Posted by: Steve201 6th November 2017, 09:49 PM

So in less than 2 weeks????

Posted by: Steve201 6th November 2017, 09:49 PM

There's been no lead single!!

Posted by: gavindeejay 6th November 2017, 10:02 PM

Does this mean the lead single will drop sometime this week?

Posted by: Steve201 6th November 2017, 10:16 PM

All seems a bit quick!

Posted by: Envoirment 6th November 2017, 10:44 PM

Eminem is one of a few artists who can drop an album without a lead single imo.

Posted by: gavindeejay 6th November 2017, 10:44 PM

I think Eminem is big enough to get huge first week numbers to be fair! Hopefully his new single is out soon!

Posted by: liamk97 6th November 2017, 10:54 PM

Revival seems to keep in theme with the likes of Relapse and Recovery. Looking forward to hearing new music from Eminem, although I've got to say I'd quite like a return of the funny, tongue-n-cheek songs, as great as the singles from the last few years have been.

Posted by: Atonement 7th November 2017, 09:30 AM

Here's hoping for another single with Rihanna on it.

However, looks like the lead single called "Walk on Water" (poor 30STM) will be released this week if it's considered https://twitter.com/Eminem/status/928346592347873280.

It's him talking over a ballad instrumental and her singing a baby to sleep or sth. Ofc it'll be number 1 on name tho.

So DULL on first listen sad.gif Beyoncé's vocals are quite nice and that's about it, really disappointed and feels like it just goes on and on.

the beyonce parts are nice though

probably will go to #1 on name alone but doesn't sound like a @1

Posted by: Jade 10th November 2017, 05:49 PM

I am usually a huge fan of Eminem but this is so dull and dreary nocheer.gif I hope he has something better up his sleeve for the follow-up single because he still has it in him, 'Rap God' from only last era is one of my absolute favourite songs of his.

I agree it's such a waste of getting one of the biggest stars in the world to feature on this bland fest laugh.gif On paper it could be so dynamic and huge.

Posted by: Mack'sXmasSack 10th November 2017, 06:46 PM

Posted by: cqmerqn 10th November 2017, 10:04 PM

Beyonce’s parts are really cute!

It’s not what I expected and all, but it’s not that bad. Can see it growing. Quite an emotional song.

Won’t go anywhere near #1, but may debut top 10.

Posted by: danVember 10th November 2017, 10:56 PM

it's not what I expected or wanted but I'm liking it on first listen, it's great to have him back and the bare production suits the topic of this song.

Posted by: Davidson 10th November 2017, 11:03 PM

Bey sounds beautiful and the chorus is definitely the highlight.

Really don't think the verses and the chorus mesh well though and the whole thing is a little dry for a lead.

Posted by: danVember 10th November 2017, 11:06 PM

Also, "Bitch, I wrote Stan" may be the biggest mic drop moment of the year. Em just casually reminding us why he's a legend.

Posted by: Dircadirca 11th November 2017, 05:50 AM

Maybe it helps that my expectations were pushed so low but I don't think this is that bad at all. A bit too dry for me to want to listen to much, but the lyrics are really good! It's weirdly cathartic to see Eminem facing his criticism head-on, being very aware of the impossible standard he has to meet. It works a lot better than when he pulled the lousy 'that last Relapse album was ehh' only a year later on "Not Afraid". You can hear the sheer frustration, and the paper scrunching in the background works well. For a star who often seems to be in his own world, this is surprisingly vulnerable.

Posted by: Atonement 11th November 2017, 10:14 AM

I think this song is supposed to be a big moment because of the lyrics but tbh, they leave me pretty cold. I don't know if that's because I don't really care that much about Eminem or because I just don't think they are that good.

I can only echo what everybody else has said. It's pretty dull and lifeless.

This post basically sums up my thoughts! I was expecting this to be throwaway garbage based on the reaction in here so far / just how disappointing so many other recent Eminem singles have been (especially 'Guts Over Fear' which has to be the worst song he's ever made) but I actually quite like this, albeit not in an 'I want to listen to this on repeat' way. I do feel like it could have done without Beyoncé's contribution though. Her vocals are great and all but I don't think they fit the rest of the song particularly well.

(The thread title can be updated now btw, paging someone with that power xx)

Posted by: Jupiteer 11th November 2017, 11:59 AM

First reaction to Em/Beyonce, big dislike. It might grow but I don't have high hopes, it brings together the worst styles for me of both artists that I like the least.

Posted by: Steve201 12th November 2017, 11:44 PM

Posted by: Dexton 13th November 2017, 10:38 AM

He's performing on SNL next week, most likely Walk On Water + the future second single or an album track. Maybe the second song he performs will be the carry on from "Bitch, I wrote Stan" which sounds a lot like a "f*** the haters" type of song aka the best kind of Eminem song. Hopefully Beyonce will make an appearance on SNL too heart.gif

Posted by: Lenny 13th November 2017, 11:07 AM

I think I like "Walk On Water" - just feel it goes on too long.

Posted by: THEO. 13th November 2017, 05:56 PM

First live performance from last night's EMAs where Eminem also won Best Hip Hop:

I do like the song although I think Skylar suits the style a lot more than Beyoncé (and that's saying a lot as a huge Bey fan) but it's obvious that they went with her as she's a much, much bigger name.

It's currently #4 in the midweeks, I can see it holding on to a top five place this week although I'm not sure if it'll climb further in later weeks.

1. "Walk on Water" (ft. Beyoncé)
2. "Believe"
3. "Chloraseptic" (ft. Phresher)
4. "Untouchable"
5. "River" (ft. Ed Sheeran)
6. "Remind Me (Intro)"
7. "Remind Me"
8. "Revival (Interlude)"
9. "Like Home" (ft. Alicia Keys)
10. "Bad Husband" (ft. X Ambassadors)
11. "Tragic Endings" (ft. Skylar Grey)
12. "Framed"
13. "Nowhere Fast" (ft. Kehlani)
14. "Heat"
15. "Offended"
16. "Need Me" (ft. P!nk)
17. "In Your Head"
18. "Castle"
19. "Arose"

A few too many collabs (?) but yes at both P!nk and Alicia even though I'm not a big fan of either of their recent albums.

I've checked out the Ed Sheeran, Alicia Keys, Skylar Grey and P!nk tracks as I thought I'd probably like them most, but they're not really doing anything for me at the moment, although I do quite like P!nk's parts. 'In Your Head' played after and I was surprised to hear 'Zombie' sampled!

I'm surprised the reaction here seems to be that the album is pretty OK. On a Dutch music site I often visit the reactions are extremely negative.

I'll give this album a spin this weekend.

It's ok in the sense that everything from the interlude onwards is good, even if it is just 2010-Eminem on auto pilot.

Everything before hand was boring.

Oh yeah if anyone is expecting anything new from Eminem here your sharp out of luck tongue.gif

It's an ok album. The standouts for me are River, Untouchable, Like Home, Nowhere Fast and In Your Head (that sample *.*).

I'm at 'Remind Me' right now and I think every song so far is really decent (except for WOW). My expectations were really low. I love the 'I Love Rock and Roll' sample. 'Believe' is my favorite so far.

Gonna get this album post xmas so it should dominate my music early in 2018!

I couldn't even get halfway through this album it really is so dull, I figured after such a long break he'd try something fresh and new but apparantly not

Absolutely howling at a recent interview where Eminem was quoted as saying he'd been using Grindr to find love 😂

Wonder if this will steady this up. Is there a video for River?

Posted by: Dexton 9th January 2018, 09:31 AM

I imagine the River video will come in the next 2-3 weeks.

In the meantime, Chloroseptic "Remix" featuring 2 Chainz & Phresher. Apparently 2 Chainz was on the original Chloroseptic version but got cut off from the album. I like this version better, new verses and Eminem directly responds to all the Revival hate laugh.gif

"Y'all saw the tracklist and had a fit 'fore you heard it
So you formed your verdict
While you sat with your arms crossed
Did your little reaction videos and talked over songs (Chill!)"

That’s actually a really cool lyric video, shame the song itself isn’t anything special tongue.gif

Nowhere Fast confirmed as the next single

Good pick, some great features through the album anyway though.

I hope Need Me is a future single, with Em & Pink performing it together live I could see it challenging for #1 easily

Posted by: Hadji 9th March 2018, 12:51 AM

I was hoping that “Remind Me” would be made into the next single as it’s got massive 80s vibes

A great choice wub.gif
