Supposedly their lead single is out soon from their 5th studio album 'THE BEST YEARS OF OUR LIVES', and it could be called 'THINGS WE LOST IN THE FIRE'.
We've already got a live version of 'TONYA' which is sounding brilliant, by the way. Hopefully the lead is as incredible as everything they've put out so far, as at this point they're arguably my favourite musical act ever. This post has been edited by mdh: 14th September 2018, 04:39 PM |

So they've started a Beats 1 radio station named 'THINGS WE LOST IN THE FIRE' which will broadcast weekly, presumably with new music on each show. Kevin says they'll be dropping new stuff all summer.
They just released a new single named '1999 WILDFIRE' and it's really, really good. Got a 00's hiphop feel to it and that chorus is so infectious. Not like we expected anything less. <3 |

I think this is rivalling 'JUNKY' as the best song that I've heard by them to date, it's brilliant! I totally get the '00s hip-hop feel' comment, Jazze Pha opening the song with "Ladies and gentlemen..." took me straight back to 'Nasty Girl' by The Notorious B.I.G. instantly The hook sounds quite Outkast but simultaneously reminds me of D12's 'Purple Pills' melodically. Looking forward to more from this era!

Being the flop fan as ever (I kinda stopped following them midway through SAT II) I'm only just hearing this now oops but yass they've still got it absolutely loving the Bearface verse on this in particular, nice to hear a bit more from him on one of their singles. I do need to go back and catch up on the stuff I've still not heard from them x
It's a little weird hearing a new BROCKHAMPTON single without Ameer, he was honestly probably the most consistently quality member they had for me </3 but they obviously have the talent elsewhere in the group to not need him. |

Okay I'm a stan now, I greatly apologise for sleeping on them a bit. 'SWEET' is giving me life today in particular.
This should be a smash |

There are rumours that the album name has changed from 'the best years of our lives' to........
'Pencil' |

Hasn't the album title changed like twice already? At this stage I'm not believing anything until it actually comes out

Watch it have a totally different name when it comes out |

Another new song from them!
Very different and much more aggressive vibe than the last one (apart from the outro), banger tho. And the blue people are back in the video *.* |

Not quite as all over that as I was with '1999 WILDFIRE' but yet another BROCKHAMPTON banger nevertheless *.* these guys can do no wrong for me right now.
So this is a thing (cheers Harry for alerting) I very much approve of SWEET being #2 *.* but JUNKY is too low and u wot at the omission of 1999 WILDFIRE but the inclusion of TONYA, as nice as that is :') |

Really liking that song.
Also, nice flute line. There's this thing in hip hop that always gets me 'turnt up' if there's a flute (or any other high pitched woodwind instrument) in the melody. (examples: Timbaland and Magoo - Indian Flute, Drake feat. Travis Scott and Quavo - Portland, Cardi B feat. Migos - Drip) |

"TRUMAN" is really great - not sure if it's on the level of "WILDFIRE" or "TONYA" but another brill track nonetheless.
Something tells me we'll be getting the album pretty soon. |

Heard '1998 TRUMAN' on Radio 1 earlier and it was such a moment *.* my anticipation for this album is sky high so I hope you'll be right about it dropping soon!

New song "1997 DIANA" out tonight! Rather morbid title but the cover looks WONDERFUL.

I don't think its about that Diana event specifically, the previous titles all related to films and respective years.. so 1998 was 'The Trunman Show'. I think 1997 more likely refers to the film 'Diana & Me'.

Another good track, probably my least favourite so far though - anyone else think they could do with slowing down sometimes, eg) in this song it feels like they're trying to cram as much into 2 minutes as possible? Could have done with stretching it out a bit!
Honestly though, these are all 10/10 songs, the album is bound to be FANTASTIC |

Yeah I think it's my least favourite of the three so far as well, but this would still be my rank:
01. 1999 WILDFIRE - 10/10 02. 1998 TRUMAN - 09/10 03. 1997 DIANA - 08/10 so all is good |

I am LOVING 1999 WILDFIRE right now, the other two are good and will probably grow on me but this is amazing
There's this thing in hip hop that always gets me 'turnt up' if there's a flute This made me giggle, getting turnt up to a flute I know exactly what you mean though tbh This post has been edited by Dickston: 7th August 2018, 03:43 PM |
