He who asks gets As there won't be any quizzes in the Lounge this year (source: Joseph, if they do pop up don't blame me!) we've decided to host another season as the world slowly descends into lockdown once again.

If you would like to host a quiz, then please post here which week you would like to take and what quiz you would like to do. You can do one of the tried and tested formats or if you have your own format explain it to me so it can be considered. Your questions ideally should all be chart/music related; there was a section here about more general knowledge quizzes taking place in The Lounge, that may no longer be the case but I didn't feel like leaving a sentence on nine words.

I'm not as organised as Dan was so I will be hosting the first quiz in a week's time, which should give you all time to perfect your own quizzes. This season should last around 10 weeks as per the last two, with one quiz per week, but this can be shortened or extended depending on demand. Please post below the quiz you would like to do and the weeks you are available (you don't have to start the quiz on exactly the day it says as long as it's somewhere that can reasonably be called that week). Usually the quizzes are open for around a week, with a results 'show' after all the submissions have been collected.

For those of you unfamiliar with Quizzes here is an explanation of the main formats from Bré (via burbe).



The leaderboard works by giving 30 points to the winner of each quiz, 29 points to the runner-up and so on. If there are more than 30 participants, anyone outside the top 30 will walk away with nothing. If the host is unable to participate in their own quiz (ie if it's NMTBJs/ACP) or wishes to sit out their own FF/Pointless quiz (hosts are allowed to participate in these, on the basis that they write their own answers before others start coming in) then 'host compensation points' are given by taking the average of their points attained from other quizzes.

If you have any questions feel free to ask, I have a 9 to 5 and a brain like a sieve but I will try my best to get back to you!

Ooh yay I’ll host again! I wonder if I could do another album cover quiz if I can think of a suitable chart related theme.

Somewhere toward the middle of the schedule would suit me!

In the unlikely event that there’s a lack of hosts I can host Pointless toward the end too if needed.

I can host a quiz in Week 9 if Bre could swap to Week 10?

Would be a quick fire quiz with answers entered on a quiz platform - 15 seconds for each question so no Googling!

All the answers are numbers. The further away from the answer you are, the more points you get e.g. if the answer was 32 and you put 42, you woud be given 10 points. Person with the lowest score at the end wins.

Would that be viable?

Sounds like a good idea for a quiz! If Bré is okay with swapping that would be great, otherwise we could just skip a week if that particular week is the issue?

(I did mine on FlexiQuiz which you can set time limits per question on, it'll only let you do 10 questions per quiz on the free account but you could always set up more than one quiz if you wanted more questions)

Just an offer, if Bré is struggling to come up with questions, and if he and Pete are OK with this, I'm happy to host a quiz as the last in the series instead.

It would be the usual format of Pointless - I have all 10 questions ready. If I post tomorrow, I can give a deadline of next Wednesday and results the next day. I would also enter with my own answers (otherwise I'd automatically win the series on host compensation points )

Can we have a definitive date when this quiz season will conclude as it's been over a month since Bre was supposed to host his quiz? I'm happy to host something next week, or jimwatts has also offered above, if Bre hasn't managed one by then, just so we're not still in limbo. There was quite a buzz before but some of that momentum seems to have been lost with the delay!

If I may make a suggestion, can we just move straight into a new season for chart quizzes?

Like Mango I need a good quiz to sink my teeth into, both as a participant and also as a host too.

Could we just move on from Season 4 now and start a new round!

I suggest Pete has the final say on how this series finishes. My offer of hosting a round still stands, and I'd propose going ahead with it on Saturday, unless Bré has launched his quiz by then in which case I'd save mine for the next series, whenever that may be.

I think it would still be good to have a Round 10 just to complete off the series! If Bré doesn't look in here before then I'll send him a message tomorrow (he's probably got his hands full with hosting TBO results at the moment) and then depending on how he's doing I'll let you know Jim if you're wanted. Hope that's okay with everyone!

(Also apologies for not getting back earlier, I've gotten less and less free time over the past few weeks so some things have just missed my radar a bit)

Just a quick update: I’m waiting on Bré to confirm whether or not he thinks he’ll be able to host this week, I’ve now asked him to post his response in this thread. If he isn’t able to or hasn’t responded by the end of this weekend, Jimwatts would you be on standby to host your quiz? I know this isn’t the day you originally proposed so let me know if there’s an issue, or if someone else is available to host that would be fine as well.

(Also on a side note I don’t generally visit Buzzjack on Sundays and for some reason I no longer get an email notification when someone PMs me, I’ll sporadically check the site for any PMs but apologies if I’m not around).

At the start of this series I was just hoping to improve on 10th place last time around!

I've really enjoyed the whole thing, well done to all the other hosts, with many original quiz ideas too.
