Jordan Addison caught the eye as the Minnesota Vikings sealed a narrow 22-17 win over the San Francisco 49ers.

Rookie wider receiver Addison caught two touchdown passes in the first half from quarterback Kirk Cousins.

The best was a 60-yard score after he held a contested pass and spun clear to stroll into the end zone and help the Vikings to a third win of the season.

The Jacksonville Jaguars lost quarterback Trevor Lawrence to an ankle injury as they were beaten 34-31 by the Cincinnati Bengals.

Evan McPherson kicked a 48-yard field goal with one minute 45 seconds left in overtime to seal the Bengals' win.

Lawrence had to be helped off the field after Walker Little stepped on his right ankle in the fourth quarter.

The 24-year-old punched the ground and threw aside his helmet in frustration after sustaining the injury.

Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott has apologised for referencing the 9/11 hijackers in a team meeting in 2019.

Nearly 3,000 people were killed in the al-Qaeda attacks on 11 September, 2001 in the United States.

McDermott, 49, made the comments, which were first reported on Thursday, when talking about the importance of good communication within a team.

He said he "regretted and apologised" for his words at the time and would "do the same with the team today".

"Not only was 9/11 a horrific event in our country's history, but a day I lost a good family friend," McDermott added.

Tight end Hunter Henry scored two touchdowns as the New England Patriots ended a five-game losing streak with victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Patriots raced into a 21-3 lead in the second quarter with Ezekiel Elliott scoring a touchdown before Henry's double for the visitors.

The Steelers rallied with 15 unanswered points but ran out of steam as they lost 21-18.

"It feels good," Henry said.

"We started fast, put some points on the board and played from ahead, which is what we've been wanting to do. It's been a long year, it's been a grind. But winning always feels good, and is always fun."

Bill Belichick says it is "way too early" to make a decision about his future as New England Patriots coach.

The Patriots suffered a 13th defeat of the season against the New York Jets on Sunday - the most Belichick has endured in his 29-year coaching career.

The 71-year-old has won six Super Bowls and been runner-up three times since taking charge of the franchise in 2000.

"I am under contract so will do what I always do and work hard to help the team in any way I can," he said.

The Kansas City Chiefs stayed on course for a fourth Super Bowl appearance in five years by winning another nail-biting play-off game against the Buffalo Bills.

Sunday's divisional round match-up was eagerly anticipated after the AFC rivals produced a play-off classic two years ago, the Chiefs winning 42-36 in overtime.

And the rematch lived up to the hype as Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen again had a quarterback shootout before the defending champions held on for a 27-24 win during a nervy finale.

The San Francisco 49ers produced a thrilling fightback to set up a Super Bowl rematch with the Kansas City Chiefs in Las Vegas.

Defending champions Kansas City won the first of Sunday's Conference Championship games, beating the Baltimore Ravens 17-10 to reach the NFL's big game for a fourth time in five years.

The Detroit Lions, one of just four NFL teams never to play in the Super Bowl, then led 24-7 at half-time against five-time winners San Francisco.
