Just listened to this today on the bus home from work and oh wow album of the year for me. His rapping is just perfectly poised and delivered and I love that he goes all political throughout. Especially on my favourite song on the album ‘Three Rivers’ when he rightly attacks the government for the Windrush scandal. Also love the mentions of Corbyn, Wan Bissaka and Martial on his tracks!

I'm really liking this, I didn't really pay attention to his debut but the production here is sublime.
I decided to try and find a vinyl of it and stumbled across this (I believe) regular edition going for an insane price on ebay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/403012759160?_tr...=p2471758.m4704 There are so many other copies available for about £20, it has to be some sort of weird scam or something surely? |

I'd highly recommend checking out 'Psychodrama' as well it's a concept album in the style of a therapy session. That vinyl listing is insane, surely not? I sadly missed out on the original run of pressings as well so will also have a second hand browse! |

I've not listened to this yet and am sure I will, but both Clash and the one with Wizkid have not grabbed me at all, I don't think either are as good as anything that's on Psychodrama. Hoping they'll work better in the context of the album.

I will be checking out the album soon but for now I am really into 'Clash' - I know that it's not exactly the artistic masterpiece that Dave is capable of (I hope and trust there will be some of that on the album based on what everyone else has said about it!), in fact if anything it seems objectively quite lazy and just thrown out for the sake of having a big collaboration to build hype for the album, but for what it is it just comes across as such an effortlessly infectious banger anyway?! Maybe it's just bias / hype and I'll look back in a year or so and wonder why I was such a big fan of it but I'm loving it for now at least it's certainly a better 'Dave on drill' song than 'Paper Cuts' was at the very least anyway.

I had to google Verdansk and was surprised to find out it was a fictional place from COD (which I've never played). Very peculiar reference there!

Yeah, it’s a very strange place to make a song about lol. ‘Verdansk’ has grown on me so much it’s defo one of my favourites on the album. Looking like it’s gonna get a second week in the top 20 on the chart this week, which is extremely impressive for an album track!

Same Verdansk has pushed ahead of Clash now, really enjoying it. Also love the Brick Lane reference, I used to live on that street!

Hoping they'll work better in the context of the album. Did you ever listen to the album? The song with WizKid is definitely the worst song on the album imo (sounded like a failed attempt to recreate 'Location', which was already not exactly one of the best songs on 'PSYCHODRAMA' but at least did the job of being a solid more commercial song to sell the album). And as much as I love 'Clash' for what it is I don't think it's exactly representative of the rest of the album either. I never posted my full thoughts on the album here apparently but it is a great album, ended up liking it even more than his debut I think - 'Both Sides Of A Smile', 'In The Fire' and 'Heart Attack' in particular are top tier tracks. |

Completely giving away what company I work for but they sponsor a big arena in Liverpool and such I managed to win a couple of free tickets for Dave's concert on Friday.
I'm really excited, his 2 performances at the BRITs have been amazing and my mates a massive fan so it'll be nice to go with him. It's my first concert for near enough exactly 2 years! I'm hoping Thiago Silva is still on the set-list. |
