To forestall the usual argument of how many weeks to go :
Chart Dated : Covers sales for ------------------------------------------- Wk 47 26/11/15 13-19/11 Wk 48 03/12/15 20-26/11 Wk 49 10/12/15 27/11-03/12 Wk 50 17/12/15 04-10/12 Wk 51 24/12/15 11-17/12 Wk 52 31/12/15 18-24/12 Wk 53 07/01/16 25-31/12 So the last sales week coincides with the last day of the year for a change. |

That's nice and simple for closing up this year's sales & opening up fresh for 2016.
The short chart week during the changeover to Global Release Fridays has rather conveniently helped tidy things up for this year as the '53 week sales year' for 2015 is actually a little shorter |

Hopefully R1 make NYD another 'chart day' and have the top 100 of the year followed by the official chart for that week (although I imagine quite a few songs will end up in both charts).
Even if it is on NYE (meaning one day of sales would be missed) it would still probably be less of a mess than last year's though |

Does anyone know if they are doing a top 100 again this year?

I've just checked and that looks like the Year To Date chart to week ending 10 December (chart announcement date 4 December).Shake It Off is 94 and All Cried Out is 93 and Someone New is 92 Just to check - was #91 Elle Goulding, #90 Usher featuring Juicy J and #89 Birdy? If so it's definitely that YTD chart and so will be missing 4 weeks worth of sales. |

Birdy & Ellie are right but I Don't Mind hasn't been played (thankfully)! Was Runnin #84 & Never Forget You #85?
If so then it is that chart, at least it is an EOY chart though! |

Yup, and #83 should be 'Bad Blood', #82 'Heartbeat Song' and #81 'All Of Me'.If so then it is that chart, at least it is an EOY chart though! The Year To date chart that will be published in UKChartsPlus on Tuesday (which is always a Top 100) will include all sales to 31 December 2015 so that will effectively be the end of year chart. But I'd expect the OCC to have published at least a top 40 by then. And the BPI usually publish a quick sales overview on 1 or 2 January of each year, or at least they have for the last 5 years or so. |

You know you'll get the right one from me, though. This post has been edited by vidcapper: 1st January 2016, 03:43 PM |
