Today VH1 did the best selling albums of the 21st century. It gave Adele sales of 4.7m followed by Amy on 3.6m. Unfortunately I only saw the last few minutes of the program.
It will be repeated on Tuesday afternoon from 4pm until 7.45pm on Sky channel 356. Hopefully someone can produce the complete list with official OCC sales figures.

That list is many months out of date- Adele '21' passed 4.75m before June 2015, and Ed's 'X' passed 2.05m on 11/4/15.

I suspect that is a list as of the end of 1st Qtr 2015.

Not to mention 25 (2,420,117 copies to 25/12/15) is missing and should currently be ranked about 20th.

5 NO ANGEL DIDO ARISTA 3,080,000

VH1 figures are rounded up.

Insane when you think how album sales in general are declining.

I wonder how 19 is currently selling? Maybe it could eventually at least go up a few spots.

^^
It's still selling, but slowly. It's ~2.29m at the moment and has been overtaken by both Ed Sheeran and Michael Buble since the above list was compiled.

However, since 19 was released in 2008, only 8 albums have sold more than it (and 2 of those are also Adele albums)

VH1 said they had no Beatles videos to play so they skipped it. They will have no excuse when this program is updated - there are now 50 official videos to chose from. dance.gif

The streaming quotient for singles should have bee estimated better - in my opinion.

To think I thought the top 2 of Will Young and Gareth Gates in the singles would be untouchable not too long ago.

Streaming has been weighted too much in my opinion. To think Cheerleader is 200k ahead of Wannabe in 'sales' for example is mindboggling.

It seems appropriate that they've been overtaken by songs that've sold on merit, though.

But it's not a one-way street, though - modern songs don't have the benefit of physical sales...
