Shame it is Kendrick remix helping it, the video would have made the original go to #01 regardless. Kendrick adds nothing at all.

The remix is practically a completely different song, regardless of your opinion on the remix it's preposterous to say Kendrick 'adds nothing'. And why would the song have done any better than 'Style' without the remix especially as it seems people nearly universally thought it was a poor single choice?

It looks like #1 is gonna be a fight between "Bad Blood" and "See You Again" for the next few weeks now that the initial hype for "BB" is dying down. "BB" has the upper hand on sales and is gaining fast on airplay, but "SYA" is still gaining also and it has the advantage of Spotify for streaming. They could bounce back and forth for the next few weeks which should finally make the #1 spot a little more interesting. It doesn't look like anything else will challenge for #1 in the immediate future; I think "Shut Up and Dance" will stall at #3 if not #2, and "Cheerleader" is the fastest-rising song on iTunes rn but it still has a ways to go.

Chart Highlights
  • Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood" blasts to #1, giving Taylor her fourth #1 and Kendrick Lamar his first. It becomes Taylor's tenth #1 on Digital Songs after selling 385,000 copies; Taylor now ties Katy Perry for the second-most #1s on the chart after Rihanna. Additionally, the song debuts at #3 on Streaming Songs thanks to its video and leaps to #15 on Radio Songs, earning greatest gainer honors for all three metrics. The song is already making quick gains at airplay: it debuts at #13 on Pop Songs, trailing only Mariah Carey's "Dreamlover" and Taylor's own "Shake It Off" for the highest debut. Furthermore, the song is tied with two other songs for the 10th biggest leap to #1—Rihanna's "Take a Bow" and Taio Cruz's "Break Your Heart" also made the jump from #53. It's not even Taylor's biggest leap to #1: "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" vaulted from #72 to #1 in 2012.
  • David Guetta's "Hey Mama", another beneficiary of the Billboard Music Awards on the 16th, jumps to #8. It gives David his sixth top-ten, Nicki Minaj her 12th, newly-credited Bebe Rexha her first, and Afrojack his second. It ranks at #7 on Digital Songs after selling 112,000 copies during the tracking week, and it jumps into the Radio Songs top 10 at #9. Further down, another BBMAs performance, Pitbull's "Fun", rises to #54.
  • The Voice: A number of songs from The Voice contestants and guest performers impact the chart after the show's season finale on the 19th. Luke Bryan's "Kick the Dust Up" is this week's highest debut, entering at #26 and giving Luke his 13th top-40 hit. Below him, Maroon 5 earn their 16th top-40 with "This Summer's Gonna Hurt..." as it jumps to #31. And below them, Sawyer Fredericks, this season's winner, earns a top-40 hit with his original song "Please" debuting at #39. Below the top 40, Ed Sheeran's "Photograph" jumps to #58, Sawyer's cover of Neil Young's "Old Man" debuts at #63, and runner-up Meghan Linsey's original "Change My Mind" debuts at #92.
  • Other Action: Skrillex and Diplo's "Where Are Ü Now" moves up to #20, the first top-20 hit for either and the 15th for Justin Bieber. After its video's TIDAL premiere, Nicki Minaj's "Feeling Myself" makes a lofty re-entrance at #39, giving Nicki her 32nd top-40 hit and Beyoncé her 25th; the song debuts on Streaming Songs at #19. Finally, Jessie J's "Flashlight" debuts at #68 after a full week of sales following the Pitch Perfect 2 premiere.

Oh Bebe Rexha's name has been added to 'Hey Mama' on US iTunes (and also on YouTube), how odd. I was wondering why it had suddenly been added to the first post here. It's still nowhere to be seen on UK iTunes.

I never realized (or completely forgot) Break Your Heart made such an impressive leap to #1 back in 2010. It is hard to believe any debut act could make such an impact today.
