The fourth last 16 match sees Belgium take on the reigning champions Portugal in Seville.
How do we see this one going?
I think Belgium win this one quite comfortably. I did think Sanches was fantastic for Portugal midweek, but ultimately I just think Belgium will have too much for Portugal. Game of the last 16 for me after England - Germany!
Last Five Meetings
02/06/18 FRI Belgium 0 - 0 Portugal
29/03/16 FRI Portugal 2 - 1 Belgium
02/06/07 ECQ Belgium 1 - 2 Portugal
24/03/07 ECQ Portugal 4 - 0 Belgium
22/02/00 FRI Belgium 1 - 1 Portugal
Can’t call this one - could be a high scorer 3-2 Belgium?
Of the 7 games for which I'm a neutral, this is comfortably the game I'm looking forward to most. Hoping for a great game, would prefer Belgium to go through but I'm not overly fussed on the outcome.
This is one match I'm looking forward to as well, it could end up as a draw, but I'm leaning towards Belgium for some reason.
Portugal are really good but keep thinking of the way the Germans demolished them in the groups!
Chance for Jota there!
Pepe and Lukaku could be an interesting battle!
Not the best game so far been a bit drab.
Typical Santos Portugal sides!
What a goal from Hazard.
Who needs Eden when you have Thorgan!
Thorgan has always been the better Hazard (Unless we are talking about arse, because Eden takes that one...)
Would have been better if he had stayed at Gladbach instead of choosing money at Dortmund. Though he will at least have something in common with the new turncoat manager.
De Bruyne off for Mertens.
One sub I won't be crying about. Cant stand the c**t
Can see Portugal having someone sent off in this game
Pepe needs to calm down before he gets himself sent off!
That should have been a red for Pepe
This is one of the dirtiest games I’ve ever seen for fouls and flying tackles! I thought Pepe was off there for a second.
It’s hard to really know for sure because the Portuguese will go down if you look at them a bit funny but the Belgians aren’t doing much better (looking at both of you Hazzards)
Probably the dirtiest match of the comp I’ve seen
Getting a bit tasty this game now.
KDB and Hazard crocked.. this Belgium side is not getting past Italy.
Without a piece of individual brilliance from Thorgan H, this would be 0-0. Should be a piece of piss for Italy and at least Bruno is gonna get an extra week of vacay
YES
The last 15 minutes was just pure football at its best from end to end from both teams
If Portugal had shown the urgency of the last 15-20 minutes throughout the match they probably would have got extra time at least. It's sad to see Bruno Fernandes have a bad tournament but hopefully it's just a blip for him. Italy should be strong favourites to win against Belgium in the quarter final.
Really fun game, Belgium were shocking on the counter attack. That's Martinez, Deschamps and Southgate all playing dull football for now- suppose the media can say what the like, but it is effective.
Should be comfortable then for Italy in the quarters.
Did no one watch Italy lastnyt? Hard to pick between the two, can’t see either being winners all the same!
What a game that was though in the second half - how can you not love Pepe a typical Portuguese when getting beat, just starts kicking people 😂!!
Agree Belgium were terrible
but Italy werenn't much better against Austria the other day...
Lightning doesn't strike twice for Portugal then! A fantastic winning goal from Thorgan Hazard, good to see some end-to-end towards the end although sadly can't say it was the most interesting game so far.
I don't know, I get the feeling that Belgium, Denmark, and also Croatia if they complete comeback are feeling like 'teams of destiny' this tournament.
