Moving on from the other thread has Katy made any awful decisions?

She's mainly spot on with her choices but I guess TIHWD shouldn't have been a single despite me ending up loving it. The video was utterly fab though amd we would've missed out on that..

I think it's a classic case of The Saturdays, not the wrong singles, just bad timing and order!

This Is How We Do, why was this a single over Legendary Lovers and Walking On Air, such a bland choice. Also I don't think Birthday was a wrong choice, just released too soon, should have been the 5th or 6th type single

Y'all saying Teenage Dream was a bad choice are CRAZY, it's a great pop song and did very well too!

The only mistake IMO has been This Is How We Do - Birthday did relatively well, not amazingly well but it spent a fair amount of time in the top 40. Walking On Air should've been instead of TIHWD so it can have a big summer impact.

Well I don't think she's had a dud single yet to be honest! Like Sean said, the timing and the release strategy were what killed the majority of singles from this era.

Lol at the idea of TD being a bad single even surfacing.

Still her best pure pop moment and blows away Roar/Cali Gurls etc. tbh

I've never seen so much truth tea

I'd agree with "This Is How We Do", very generic and a really good album track at best tbh but if it helped keep "Legendary Lovers" away then it's cool

'Uncontionally' definitely. It was a pretty big flop for a follow-up of a huge single (and it's awful).

'Teenage Dream' is brilliant and pop gold!

I don't know how it can be called 'basic' considering what it was following up...

Can we not rightly defend Teenage Dream by wrongly dragging California Gurls please. x

I don't like this This is How We Do hate.

I don't think it's sold much less than Birthday and Birthday was top 5 on airplay.

Birthday's flop is the reason for minimal support for TIHWD.

The same thing happened with Thinking Of You and Waking Up in Vegas.

(Also, This Is How We Do, has now sold just a small amount less than Birthday and quite a bit more than 'Unconditionally' despite those two songs getting way more support)

If TOU and TIHWD had swapped releases with the singles before them, i'm certain they would have both done a lot better.

Teenage Dream is a massive anthem. I actually think Firework is much more basic, though I still enjoy it.

'waking up in vegas', 'last friday night', 'the one that got away', and 'this is how we do' spring to mind here. 'roar' as well to a lesser extent, but I can't really imagine anything else being the lead single, overplay just killed it for me quite quickly really.
'self inflicted', 'hummingbird heartbeat' and most importantly 'walking on air' should have been singles I think.
