I'd hope not!

Wonder how I'll receive this, ended up rinsing "Be Someone" after being initially underwhelmed - one of my tunes of the year now. Not been into him particularly much in the past.

Posted by: Bjork Nov 13 2019, 12:29 PM

can't at his vocals, had to stop after 30 secs :/

Posted by: WhoOdyssey Nov 13 2019, 03:10 PM

I really like this, which surprised me as I'm not usually a fan of his.

Posted by: Steve201 Nov 13 2019, 11:58 PM

Brillant as ever!

Posted by: SLlewellyn Nov 14 2019, 09:12 AM

This is a great return from Jake, after a pretty meh last era - hopefully R1 get behind it properly!

Posted by: WhoOdyssey Apr 23 2020, 01:50 PM

Something new releasing tomorrow!

Posted by: ___∆___ Apr 24 2020, 10:06 AM

Totally here for ‘Saviours Of The City’ - one of his best for a while IMO and a big improvement on ‘Kiss Like The Sun’

Posted by: ___∆___ May 5 2020, 02:00 PM

Disappointed at their being zero hype for the new single - Jake has basically been on the decline since album two but ‘Hearts That Strain’ seems to have killed his career stone dead which is a shame as SOTC is one of his best for ages.

Posted by: Steve201 May 5 2020, 09:52 PM

I've really liked most of the stuff he puts out still so still looking forward to this album!

Posted by: ElectroBoy May 28 2020, 08:48 PM

Rabbit Hole is out tomorrow

It was accidentally added to NMF last week then deleted. I got 1 listen and it was great - roll on tomorrow biggrin.gif

Posted by: WhoOdyssey May 28 2020, 09:33 PM

Ah I was wondering where that disappeared to!

Posted by: ManicKangaroo May 28 2020, 10:44 PM

yeah, it was originally scheduled for last Friday

Posted by: WhoOdyssey May 28 2020, 11:23 PM

Wow.

I think this could be his best single in years!

Posted by: ElectroBoy May 29 2020, 06:37 AM

Yeah that’s what I thought last week and then was shocked when it was removed laugh.gif

Posted by: Bjork May 29 2020, 06:57 AM

wow, I'm positively surprised how much evolution and progression this track shows

Posted by: Liam.k. May 29 2020, 11:35 AM

I thought this was going to be a solo version of his Camelphat collaboration but I see I got confused with another of their songs.

Posted by: M4NGO May 29 2020, 12:07 PM

Loving Rabbit Hole, easily the best thing he's released for ages!

Posted by: WhoOdyssey Jun 11 2020, 08:48 AM

Remix of 'Kiss Like the Sun' from Everyone You Know out today - love it!

Posted by: Suedehead2 Jun 15 2020, 08:46 PM

Jake is putting out some really strong material at the moment. I have high hopes for the new album.

Posted by: Steve201 Jun 16 2020, 06:01 PM

Yeh same here, tbh I've liked all his albums.

Posted by: M4NGO Oct 29 2020, 10:29 AM

'All I Need' is even better than 'Rabbit Hole', this is shaping up to be a really strong album!

Jake's on Graham Norton next week!

And very good he was too. It seems the new album is more or less ready but he's waiting for a suitable time to release it.

Posted by: ElectroBoy Jan 16 2021, 10:54 PM

So hyped for this album - have been binging on his previous albums the last few weeks

All I Need is up to 6 on iTunes too

Posted by: WhoOdyssey Jan 18 2021, 06:07 PM

"All I Need" is at #93 in the update today! It could be his first solo song to make the top 100 since 'Messed Up Kids' in 2014, though there was of course 'Be Someone' in 2019.

Posted by: steve201 Jan 20 2021, 06:17 PM

Would be great!!

Posted by: awardinary Jan 22 2021, 12:05 PM

Franky Wah remix just been added to the Ministry of Sound: Dance Nation playlist;

20th August and it’s called Saturday Night, Sunday Morning

Posted by: WhoOdyssey Mar 19 2021, 04:14 PM

Finally, can't wait!

Posted by: steve201 Mar 19 2021, 06:51 PM

He must have heard my complaint 😂

Posted by: steve201 Apr 23 2021, 06:37 PM

The new single by Jake is out on the 6/5/21 and is called ‘Lost’.

Looking forward to this. Can see this then a pedal in single in July!

Posted by: ElectroBoy May 6 2021, 06:13 PM

Lost is out

Another bop. The bass is great! Now looking forward to the album even more

Posted by: WhoOdyssey May 6 2021, 06:53 PM

Different for him, but sounding great! Can't believe it's almost been one year since Rabbit Hole now as well

Posted by: steve201 May 6 2021, 07:08 PM

Sad that radio 1 from what I can see aren’t making him HR anymore!

Posted by: steve201 May 6 2021, 07:09 PM

‘Lost’ is quite the bop, kind of like a dance tune!!

Posted by: Jester May 6 2021, 07:31 PM

This is great! Loving the dance Jake.

Posted by: lewistgreen May 6 2021, 10:32 PM

Jake coming thru with a BOP

Posted by: ElectroBoy May 7 2021, 09:19 AM

Video's dropped

Posted by: Suedehead2 May 7 2021, 10:45 AM

I love this. The new album is shaping up to be his best since his debut.

Posted by: Bjork May 7 2021, 10:49 AM

oh very nice indeed
good he's evolving and embracing new sounds

Posted by: Jester May 7 2021, 11:04 AM

Is it likely he’s going to half the album so have dance tunes for Saturday night and chill songs for Sunday morning?

Posted by: Bjork May 7 2021, 11:37 AM

^That's a good call... actually Counting Crows did something similar with their similarly titled Saturday Nights and Sunday Mornings

Posted by: WhoOdyssey May 21 2021, 09:44 PM

220 KID remix of Lost out now:

Posted by: steve201 May 22 2021, 11:33 AM

Enjoying ‘Lost’ at the moment!

Posted by: darrens94 Jul 24 2021, 05:16 PM

‘Downtown’ out now

Posted by: ElectroBoy Aug 16 2021, 11:47 AM

Loved every song that's been released so far - hyped for the album on Friday smile.gif

Posted by: ___∆___ Aug 16 2021, 01:39 PM

Really love all this era’s output however there seems to be zero hype for the album? Not sure who he’s going up against but feels like it could be a 1-43-97 kinda release at this point nocheer.gif

Posted by: Bré Aug 16 2021, 03:53 PM

His last album charted at #7 with 5.4k first week so that is very optimistic... tongue.gif

Posted by: WhoOdyssey Aug 16 2021, 03:56 PM

I do think it'll be higher than his last album, but I'm not sure it'll be up there for #1! It is a quiet week for releases though.

Posted by: Bjork Aug 16 2021, 04:07 PM

forgot it was finally out
guess hel'll be the 2nd highest entry behind Lorde

He’s chucking out multiple versions, signed editions, Assai Exclusive, intimate record shop shows etc., versus last time and I’m sure we’ll get the week 1 price cuts, plus his last album alienated his audience by going all country/MOR so hopefully the new album will see some of them return.

Quite a miserable review from the NME today, just 2 stars!

Every review I’ve seen has been like 8/10 or 4/5 stars.

NME are miserable in general arent they biggrin.gif

Posted by: ElectroBoy Aug 20 2021, 09:08 AM

Just listening to this now and I think its a really strong album. Maybe It's Today is probably my least favourite.

However About Last Night, Lonely Hours, Screaming, Scene and all the singles are excellent.

They loved him when he broke through but think he’s a sell out so purposely hate in him now!

Posted by: steve201 Aug 20 2021, 11:42 PM

Yeh they are arseholes I personally think the singles on this are some of his best ever and the album runs smoothly def a solid 9/10 for me!

It's quite the opposite!

The review literally says that they wanted him to lean even more into the pop/disco influences...

Posted by: dandy* Dec 30 2021, 06:22 PM

A friend bought me this for christmas and I've been pleasantly surprised by it... it's nothing groundbreaking but it's a consistent and extremely easy to listen to album - probably my favourite thing of his I've heard to date.

Posted by: WhoOdyssey Sep 15 2023, 10:33 AM

A new collaboration with CamelPhat released today on their album... it just sounds like a solo Jake song though!
