There have been some good games from the French Ligue 1 on BT so far. That and the German Bundesliga are generally well worth following. It's hard to see the new La Liga season being as dramatic as last term.

A good romantic story in La Liga with Eibar playing at that level for the first time having spent most of their existence in the third tier and below. They come from a small town (population 30,000) in northern Spain about 25 miles east of Bilbao. Their tiny ground has a capacity of around 6,000. Lionel Messi is estimated to be paid around five times as much as the whole Eibar squad combined.
They started their season this evening against local rivals Real Sociedad and beat them 1-0. |
