I want to know what the feature is called when images automatically go through a slide show on a website.

Any ideas?

A slide show is pretty much what it is. You need to use Javascript to get it to work though most of the time.

Thanks. It's thr sort of slide show that is already running when you enter a site. The user doesn't start it.

I'll have a look at some javascript.

Best thing to do is use the Adobe Flash maker programme, it comes part of a package if you're using Adobe Dreamweaver. Takes a lot of time to fiddle around with/get use to however.

Image slide show is a small program which you can download from any site and manage its properties according to your site and put your own images by replacing the existing one. Nevo slider is one of the example of image slider.
