Is it finally time for Ed Sheeran's #1 reign to end? Harry Styles is hoping to debut at #1 with his first single 'Sign of the Times', and there are other new releases from 'Passport Home' by JP Cooper and 'Die With You' by Beyoncé. Other new entries in the top 40 may come from 'On My Mind' by Disciples, and perhaps Martin Solveig will finally climb in? Songs by Little Mix, Julia Michaels, Jason Derulo and others should climb further too.

In the albums, it seems like Ed Sheeran's '÷' is on for yet another week at the top. Hoping for a high entry are The Chainsmokers with 'Memories... Do Not Open', as well as other new releases from Father John Misty, Caro Emerald and Michelle Branch among others. Expect Now 96 to debut at #1 in the compilations chart too.

Breakdown of the week
- Saturday and Sunday: Information on Twitter from MintRoyale only. Please do not make requests, we do not have any information other than what's posted.
- Monday: OCC Top 100 + Radio 1 Chart Update 5:30pm to 5:45pm.

Twitter and social media is your friend for today. Please post any information you find with a source. Do not nag for updates, we will post a top 40 update if we receive one.
- Wednesday: Top 40 update from Music Week from 5:45, and potential top 5 sales but this is not guaranteed.
- Thursday: See Tuesday.

Other notes (please read)
- You may make requests Tuesday to Thursday but outside the top 40, specific positions will not be revealed (unless deemed necessary by a mod).
- Please do not demand a midweek update, one will be posted as and when we receive the information. Patience is a virtue.
- Sales information will be given out as deemed necessary by a moderator, please bear this in mind when making requests. Most requests for sales will be ignored.
- To keep everyone in the loop of all chart action, please refer to the iTunes and Spotify threads.

If not Harry at #1 then definitely Ed with Galway Girl, Sign of the Times probably at #2. Although it all depends on the streams these days..

If Harry does end up at #2, surely Clean Bandit will take the #1, Ed's sales have been decreasing.

I hope Clean Bandit can get to no1. Its the only decent song that deserves to take over. As for Harry Styles, how well he is doing on streaming? I know he is no1 on iTunes but that seems to count for little these days.

I'd be amazed if it wasn't Harry. I know iTunes chart means practically zilch these days but I'd expect it to rack up decent enough streams to back that up. Second week is where it gets interesting.

I wouldn't say iTunes chart means ziltch, it just means about 50% less than it used to. On opening weeks for big acts like this one, I'd say it meant a lot.

Will all depend on the next couple of days, if Harry can maintain a healthy lead on iTunes and if streaming improves for him it will be #1.

If his streaming doesn't improve much on his first day total then he's in trouble.

Forget that Harry will take number one

Wishful thinking.

The same people swore Coldplay/Chainsmokers or Galway Girl will be number one, Harry is one week wonder who can have a run like 2-11-19-28-64 etc

Ed will clearly get a sixth week at the top in the Album chart but curious to see where The Chainsmokers debut, should be ok for a Top 5 debut?
Take That will get a boost from their various TV appearances but suspect gains will be minimal given the impact seen so far on iTunes & Amazon Best Sellers.
Wouldn't be surprised to see Rag 'N' Bone Man holding at 2.

i Tounes is meaningless because they are expensive as hell. Who pays 1 pound for a song now? Or 7.99 or something for non physical music? Which is just a copy/paste product?
You must be really Apple lemming to buy music there

BTW still flabbergasted how Spotify counts towards the chart while youtube not.

Just imagine. When you listen to music on youtube you also watch it usually = it means you like the song more, you sacrifice more attention. While Spotify usually plays in the background while make you tea or talk to guests or on the phone etc as it requires leaa attention, sometimes even random music from the playlists plays. And the first one gets no recognition

And I can not understand logic behind your explanation and how this is obvious for everyone

because also sometimes people watch cos of the video not cos of the song, happens all the time in the US

iTunes now doesn't mean much, except when someone sells lots, Harry sure is on 30K already from iTunes (20K on Fri, 10K on Sat) vs. 10K max for CB, so he is gonna be #1 for sure imho, regardless of streaming...

To get a 100m video on Youtube you only need Shakira or J.Lo on it so I don't think singles chart should count those.

for instance in the US, when Gaga was huge, she performed the song Dope on some award, millions watched the performance on YT but no one bought it or anything, were fan/curious visions, but still got to #8 on the back of that... which is wrong... same with videos that go viral (Black Beatles, Harlem Style)

video is ingredient of the song.

Spotify r other streaming customers do not pay for song byt monthly fee

Watching video is still a song 'consumption' even more than streaming as I said people watching video pay even more attention
