Big topic of the moment is that it seems like Dermot O'Dreary is leaving the X Factor after 8 series.
It is said his replacement could be current co-host of The Voice - Emma Willis
If it becomes true it could certainly bring a breath of fresh air to the show.
IMO I think Dermot O'Dreary is a rubbish presenter - he's too childish, and very much on the same wavelength as Ant & Dec.
I would say Emma has been doing a great job on The Voice last series and looks the same on this.
Good luck Emma
WHAT?
please no, Dermot O'Leary is part of the X Factor furniture It'd be sad for him to leave
Really hope that is true. Dermot has became awful and I love Emma
Dermot was ALWAYS awful, but I don't really know if losing him is going to change anything. Half the reason I watch now is to rip it all apart and with someone vaguely competent and not a complete twatbag then we might end up with the true cardinal sin of reality TV: a blandly competent show (see The Voice).
Dermot's boring now, they need to freshen up the show with a new presenter.
I won't settle for less than Konnie Huq tbh.
I opt for Harry Hill to kill it right off
I like Dermot and would probably miss him but Emma Willis is amazing and I'd be MORE than happy with her presenting the show Can't see it happening though.
Echoing comments about Dermot being boring - I miss Kate Thornton!
I like Dermot, Kate Thornton was AWFUL.
Emma would be good but she's fine on The Voice imo and BB is her perfect/dream job pretty much so I'd keep her as is. I'm sure who they could have, I'm sure they'll find someone suitable!
They could let Sinitta do it...
If they want a male presenter, most likely Vernon Kay could easily fit into that role. Can't really see anyone else doing it at the moment, unless they go with a female presenter.
I think they should get Jameela Jamil
Caroline Flack please!
Ant & Dec? Or would that be overkill...
April and Tim will back me up. Rochelle is coming for Dermot's weave
I think we all know who will be taking over...
I want ant and dec to present !!
Louis Walsh has said he's now "done" with The X Factor and won't be returning, although to be honest I'm sure this is like the fourth time he's said that so I won't hold my breath...
http://m.digitalspy.co.uk/showbiz/s103/the-x-factor/news/a641189/louis-walsh-threatens-to-quit-the-x-factor-im-done-with-it.html#~p9HavgAhM8gHVv
Interesting:
Tom would be a great addition to the panel tbh. He's such a genuine guy, so you'd be able to tell if he liked someone or not straight away! He's incredibly likeable too. He'll have the right balance between serious and entertaining I think! Hope it's true and something comes from it!
Well at least there'd be some eye candy on the panel.
Rochelle Humes pls
Ugh god no thanks (at Tom not Rochelle, but can't say I want her either )!
MrCelebUK is a notorious bullshitter tbf, he's been right a couple of times with CBB but I think there's when rumours came from elsewhere. But who knows.
Tom would be amazing!
As long as Mel B stays!
Does the judging panel really make much difference to how the show does anyway? Back in it's glory days, sure the chemistry or "drama" between the judges was a nice bonus, but surely the main thing that kept people watching was the high standard of the contestants. And it's that that's really fallen off in the last few years.
I think a lot of blame for viewing figures is based on the judging panel when I really don't think it makes an enormous difference.
That being said, Tulisa is coming back this year for Cheryl and Mel's weaves.
Caroline and Olly are CONFIRMED as hosts!
Olly will probs make it watchable tho, MAYBE. I am letting IT ruin one of my fave shows
olly f***ing murs? get outta here
Olly "Mediorce" Murs. Oh lovely! I think I can safely say I will no longer be watching the show. What a disaster.
Olly *.*
Olly really wants to put this whole being a singer thing on the back burner doesn't he.
I look forward to seeing Dermot on Strictly 2015.
Olly can't sing? :/ I guess now you're gonna say Sebastian Stan can't act
More than adequate replacements
Will miss Dermot a tiny bit though...
Awful awful news.
I love them together, but I really don't know whether they're right for the main show? As 'Xtra Factor' hosts they were PERFECT. It's not as "serious" as the main show and provided some quality, light hearted, funny moments. So we shall see! Big fan of both of them though, so I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt!
I'm just relieved Dermot has gone, his presenting was awful!
I'm still not sure why certain people talk about the main show - or rather hosting it - as this ultra serious, hard hitting show. It's primetime light entertainment on a Saturday night for Christ's sake, not Question Time. This is a show that had Wagner playing bongos and Calvin Harris gatecrashing the stage with a pineapple on his head.
I've also a sneaking suspicion that the same critics (I won't link it here, but Google the Guardian's hideously snotty article about Olly and Caroline they published today) who are bemoaning the decision are probably the same ones who moaned about Dermot replacing Kate Thornton all those years ago.
Most of it is probably because said critics can't stand the fact Olly's enjoyed joint success in two fields of entertainment in the past (and that's not me just being biased, his two albums released whilst he did Xtra have sold 1m each here in the UK alone) - tall poppy syndrome alive and well etc.
Of course they are going to bring a different element to it - anyone who watched them on Xtra will know that - and their two series of Xtra were a lot of the time outperforming previous series because they made it into a show that wasn't just one you switched over for when things kicked off. I have a feeling they'll actually be like Ant and Dec in the first series of 'Pop Idol' and bring a bit of irreverence and wit to it. When you have a winning combination as them, it is stupid not to utilise such a rare magic.
They were good as a pairing on the Xtra Factor, I think they needed someone else on the main show, mind you I do hate Caroline Flack, she goes on a bit and her annoying laugh. In the end the show is not about the hosts, its a music talent show, does it really matter who is going to host it. My natural instinct they should have chose Holly Willougby mind you she does front many other shows or used the host from FF, forgotten his name, Vernon something.
IS TULISIA RETURNING?
Vernon Kay is horrific.
Vernon would be even WORSE than Caroline for me and that says it all
Just read that Mel B has been sacked and Louis Walsh has a possibility of being sacked. If Syco wants to sack a judge, sack that bloody mime artist
Aw, would much rather have seen Mel stay over Cheryl, but I'm pretty sure it's been confirmed Cheryl has signed the contract and Mel has been "fired".
http://metro.co.uk/2015/04/30/carly-rae-jepsen-to-replace-mel-b-on-the-x-factor-2015-5174131/ - talks apparently now happening with Carly Rae Jepsen to replace Mel B. I only know her from 'Call Me Maybe' (which as pure pop singles of recent memory go I felt was pretty anaemic. Cue all the 'hilarious' shade/diva GIFs being flung my way in retaliation).
But given that she's on the verge of having another top 3 this weekend I'm thinking this *might* be a sensible choice? Anything's a better choice for a new female judge than Lovato, Ora or that sodding Kardashian, in any case. I still say they get Tom Fletcher in to replace Louis Walsh and have a radio DJ take up the fourth spot. The only name however that immediately springs to mind for me is, worryingly, Lisa Snowdon from Capital Breakfast so make of that what you will.
‘If I got to live in London, then I’d be tempted to be a judge on one of your singing shows. I love the shopping and the people in London.’
Just sounds like she wants to be a judge Idk if she'd be a great choice, but she does fill the "been there done that" quota (although Cheryl does too) as she was 3rd on Canadian Idol. I guess there are worse choices but there are also far better ones. A DJ would be good but I can't really think of any non-BBC really famous DJs I'd want to be honest.
If CRJ gets it and refers to Britain as 'London' I will assassinate ha weave.
I want Kelly Rowland back. A great personality, a judge with the success to back her up, an incredible voice and all round performer. I don't understand the flack she received for her 2011 stint. She was amazing until her and Tulisa fell out (which wasn't her fault). She was great on X Factor USA as well.
I'm just so bored of the predictable 'Simon and/or Gary Barlow, Louis and two female 'divas' in increasingly outlandish tube wrap dresses' formula. It's no different to when the 'Simon, Louis and Sharon' lineup became as stifling as anything after three series.
Bring back Dannii Minogue. The years of Simon, Louis, Dannii and Cheryl were the best tbh. It's never been the same since.
Dannii is still being a miserable bitch on X Factor Australia and they clash so what a shame she can't
Natalie Bassingthwaighte is free, lets use her.
Natalia Kills and Willy Moon are available I hear.
Kelly Rowland giving us OK.COM
I think the UK would adore Carly, but it won't happen! That's too inventive for X Factor UK.
I'd be a bit worried if someone with two (and a half) hits was considered good enough to be a judge. Some of the choices have been questionable in the past, but at least they've all had some degree of prolonged success in their fields.
Demi Lovato is the latest rumour for a judge, which makes sense as she was a judge on the US version. She was a very good judge and mentor and had great chemistry with Simon, but she's not well known enough here tbh.
I'd personally find someone like Demi very boring.
demi wohld be a terrible choice, too American in a plane Jane sense. Paulini Rubio would make a better judge if we must take a dumped us judge
Predicta:
Judges:
- Simon
- Cheryl
- Demi Lovato
- Zayn Malik
With the room auditions gone, a more demanding bootcamp and a reformatted judge's houses (potentially introducing a viewers' vote to decide who goes through).
Also no more Deadlock, the public vote is worth the same as a judges vote.
Celebrity advisors: Simon goes for Louis Walsh and Sinitta in a cocktail dress, Cheryl invites Nicola, Demi brings in Nick Jonas and Zayn has his pal Naughty Boy by his side.
Olly and Caroline did their first day's filming today at the open audition in Manchester. God they're total friendship goals
Elsewhere, The Mirror is now reporting Nick Grimshaw is in talks to replace Louis Walsh. Whilst I can't stand him on the radio I know him and Simon got on well when he interviewed him last year so this could possibly work: http://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/nick-grimshaw-set-join-x-5675795
OMG as much as I love x-factor I might actually have to stop watching if bloody nick Grimshaw is a judge.
One of the worst celebs around at the moment by miles, beyond awful
Gahhh can we PLEASE not have Nick Grimshaw
Grimmy is ok but only like if I listen to his radio show once in a while or watch Sweat The Small Stuff when someone good is on, he'd be so annoying to have as a judge full time
Please not Grimmy. Anyone else but him!
It'll certainly be interesting to see if the BBC let him have such close association with their main rivals. I said some time ago in this thread that they needed someone who was more independent of performing to be on the panel like a radio DJ. I'm not Grimmy's absolute greatest fan as I've said but if they're looking to get the edge over Strictly again he and Carly or Demi would be a good match with Simon and Cheryl.
Simon needs to either re-instate Louis or piss off
Absolutely NOT at Nick Grimshaw or Demi Lovato.
Louis needs to get his hands OFF those ***** **** and BACK ON THIS SHOW NOW
Louis leaving.
So glad Louis is leaving it's about bloody time I think someone like Tinie Tempah should replace him he's been a guest judge a few times at judges houses and also he helped Tom Jones in the battle rounds of The Voice one year so he seems to know his stuff . Plus he's pretty current and it would be good to have a current male judge on the panel .
I can just imagine Tinie and Tulisa's urban roots already
Sarah-Jane is not returning as host of the Xtra Factor.
Yeah just came to post that, what a shame, I loved her last year
Jameela to replace her please
I loved Sarah-Jane and because of her it was the 1st xtra-factor I watched properly
Sarah Jane making way for the iconek Konnie Huq comeback tho.
I think they need a current male judge, obviously before we've just had Simon, Louis or outdated Gary Barlow. Tinie Tempah is a good suggestion, even someone like Dan Smith from Bastille.
I liked Sarah Jane from what I saw, but I haven't watched Xtra Factor properly since 2012 oops. If Konnie was the host again I'd just have to *.*
Oh yes, Jameela to replace Sarah Jane, definitely! Failing that Matt Edmondson would be a good shout!
Rochelle Humes will be a judge / xtra factor presenter.
She's literally on EVERYTHING on ITV and is fastly getting higher profile slots.
Rochelle is a good shout actually, wouldn't surprise me at all with This Morning etc. - I'm not her biggest fan as such but she's a good presenter.
She's been on everything in the last couple of months.
Presenting Children In Need, This Morning, Frank Sinatra One Night Stand now Ninja Warrior and she did tease some exciting news coming
New interview with Carolly from the Manchester open auditions in The Mirror today: http://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/x-factor-olly-murs-caroline-5686443
I love the idea that Olly went round to Simon's for a curry to talk about doing the show. Don't know why, just amused me a little
I think what Olly says here and bought up with Simon about the show having got WAY too serious in recent years is true. It's part of why I switched off after the 2012 series. I really feel he and Caroline are going to bring the fun element back to the show
Celebrity News @TheCelebUK 1h1 hour ago
Demi Lovato has signed a deal to appear on this years @TheXFactor panel. Change is coming.. #xfactor.
No idea how reliable this account is but I'd like Demi on the show!
Please be true!!!!
Demi and Cheryl on the same panel would be IDEAL!
Demi would be fab!
Simon wants to make Judges' Houses live too, logistically he admitted it's a bit of a challenge but they'd still do 2 a night with Olly and Caroline presenting from a studio back home.
Judges Houses is so pointless.
Sure they have to pick their three or four acts but I don't see how going to Vanuatu is relevant or entertaining.
I'd rather they'd do it from mama Tweedy's iamspamspamamiin Newcastle.
UGH:
Dan Wootton @danwootton 1h1 hour ago
BIG Bizarre X Factor exclusive in @TheSunNewspaper tomorrow...It's Rita!
I'm failing to understand why you'd get rid of Mel B for Rita bloody Ora.
Yay if it is Rita, I love her
I don't think Mel wanted to come back, she is currently doing America's Got Talent and Australia's The Voice Kids (I think that started earlier last year so it didn't clash, not sure) is due back and she's on that (I think that may be airing in August or September or so after the main series is done, and that'd deffo clash with X Factor) Idk how she juggled it all last year!!
I like Rita, I certainly don't get the random hate for her.... She was brilliant on The Voice, I'd go as far as saying she's one of the very bes coaches I've seen on there between our version and the US/Aus ones (along with Delta Goodrem, Ricky Martin and Shakira). Uninspired choice but yeah I'm happy enough. I'd rather have Mel but I've come to terms with her not being back.
I love Rita but I'd much rather Mel over her Although if Mel chose not to come back then fair enough of course.
I love Rita but I'll be very disappointed if she ditches The Voice after just one series and after claiming she picked The Voice over X Factor for more freedom etc.
Rather have Mel over Rita. Hopefully it isn't Demi/Rita/Cheryl/Simon though, not sure if I'd like that dynamic.
Rita! YES!
But yeah, I can't see it happening as I doubt there would be 3 females/1 male panel. Maybe she's the Xtra Factor host?
I'm rather disappointed tbh.
The judging panel is arguably the worst that it's been and Rita Ora has totally contradicted what her previous beliefs were regarding The Voice & X Factor.
I see Rita has jumped ship, hopefully Kylie re-joins The Voice
Actually the line-up for the X Factor judges looks pretty good with Rita in the judges line-up, I don't mind Grimmy.
not particularly excited about Rita joining but at least they've got someone who's relevant to today's music scene to replace Mel B (I did like her as a judge but she was obviously only going to last one season).
Rita/Cheryl/Simon seems like a good line-up, who'll be the fourth judge then? Hopefully not Demi Lovato, I'd prefer a fully British lineup, plus I imagine they'll get another man to give it a 50:50 gender split.
If Demi works it, I'll be SO :/ - I can't stand her singing voice, talking voice, false relationship with Simon (which is just as nauseating as Cheryl's, if not worse), just no on every level.
Three females wouldn't work either, it's not females that are hardly often hugely popular personalities, so surely a bigger male personality would be better to balance it as usual.
Demi would be amazing but it's 99% not her, a few days after that contract signing Instagram she announced she'd started a new record label with Nick Jonas so I assume it was for that. Plus she already has tour dates in October!
It'd be nice to have someone who's actually interested in music as apposed to themselves.
The arena auditions start July 6th so we'll definitely have a confirmed panel before then
I'm gonna guess Cheryl, Simon, Rita and Nick Grimshaw. I don't actually hate the latter but not keen on the idea of him as a judge, hmm... We'll see.
I think Nick Grimshaw would work better as the Xtra factor presenter than a judge, considering his career is a radio presenter I imagine that job would suit him better.
According to reveal / heat / express / inside / the sun Rochelle Humes is the leading contender to be Xtra Factor host with other potentials being Brian Downling and Melvin Odoom.
Oh GOD NO! At any of those. Rochelle is so wooden. Brian Dowling is Brian Dowling (horrific) and I have no idea who Melvin Odoom is (so perhaps he's the better choice?)
I agree with everything Jonjo said, although I do know Melvin and he's annoying as f***.
I don't really watch Xtra Factor anyway but Brian would worse than Caroline.... Not really a fan of Rochelle or Melvin but they'd be ok together I guess.
Well I would just *die* if Rochelle landed this. Please be true!
Rochelle is FAB.
I'm impressed that Brian Dowling is still relevant enough to be considered.
I can see Rochelle getting this, if anything just for the X Factor press team to go on about the fact her husband works for The Voice.
According to The Sun Kiss FM djs Melvin and Rickie are presenting the Xtra Factor possibly with Rochelle, also Nick Grimshaw has signed as X Facor judge also according to The Sun.
I'm guessing it will end up being Melvin & Rochelle.
It's funny that three of the judges from Sweat The Small Stuff could all be on the X Factor. Nick Grimshaw is such a poor choice.
I can't get my head around why they'd want Nick Grimshaw, he's really not popular at all?
Yeah I agree that Nick is qualified to be a judge I think, he's certainly not some randomer. Ultimately, he's the person who'll be playing the contestants' singles if they work hard in the competition. However, I'm not sure how I'd feel about him on the panel. I'm willing to give him a shot but I find him quite irritating.
If we really aren't having Mel B (), I'd be more than happy with Rita Ora taking the last spot, so hope those rumours are true!
Yeah I ageee - qualified but not the best choice. I think it's good to have somebody from a different angle, we've had fellow singers and we've managers/record label execs. He's the type of person who, ultimately, is going to play the artists. But he is very irritating when I've seen him on other things so I'd have chosen someone like Sara Cox maybe.
Or Jameela Jamil
Even though he's a radio DJ, I really don't associate Nick with music knowledge. He just seems to be someone in public eye who, if you don't listen to Radio 1, no-one really knows what he does. Tbf, I hadn't really thought about how he's interviewed singers and been around them pretty much all his career which is a good point and does hold its advantages, but idk, it still feels really odd thinking of the prospect of him being on the panel.
RITA ORA AND CHERYL ON THE PANEL !!
I actually love Nick Grimshaw so I'm pleased that he's been confirmed. Very intrigued about what he'll be like.
Don't mind Rita either so these choices aren't too bad, just wish Mel B would've kept on rather than Cheryl.
I think Nick is a weird choice too. I mean, he's just lost 1 million listeners on the Radio 1 breakfast show? I know Nick is suppose to be 'part of the industry' and I being ditzy is part of Grimmy's radio 1 persona, but when I listen to his show I always feel like he comes across as the least 'clued in' of all the Radio 1 DJs when it comes to music. I feel like Scott Mills is a really knows his sh*t when it comes to pop music and Fearne always knew loads about alternative artists. Greg also often seems quite ahead of time with music too.
I don't understand why they got rid of Mel B? I thought she went down a lot better than Cheryl last year?
Let's not forget here, Neil Fox (Pepsi Chart, Capital Radio) was a judge on Pop Idol. Irritating though I can find Grimmy at times he's an original choice for the panel. I reckon he'd be quite a good judge anyway.
Rita though *shudders*.
UGH UGH UGH UGH UGH UGH UGH
I guess Simon needed Cheryl to get ha radio 1 playlist again!
Jokes if Grimmy and R1 still won't play Cheryl's music.
Rita was amazing on The Voice, so hopefully she'll be good on X Factor too. Still undecided over Nick Grimshaw. I'll reserve judgement until the show airs.
I think Grimmy will be a lot of fun in the initial auditions, but I get the feeling he won't have much to offer on the lives. But who knows, I'm willing to be proved wrong. Maybe he's just a Brian Freedman and they'll bring back Louis after 3 episodes.
Nick just has a very irritating persona, it's a bit like a toned down Fearne Cotton. Everything has to be ''cool'' for him to like it and if it isn't he mercilessly takes the piss pretending he only likes it for the lolz or whatever. You can just LIKE things you know.

I'm quite disappointed that Rita jumped ship from The Voice (or maybe she can still do both?) However, I do feel X Factor is more suited to her. Dreading Nick Grimshaw as I find him a tad arrogant
Rita <3 I think she's more suited to The Voice but she's fab anyway. Nick I'm still unsure on as he is quite irritating, but I'll give him a chance.
Helen Wood is the latest celebrity to be linked with the XTRA FACTOR host!
Im out.
There is absolutely zero chance that Helen Wood, or Brian Dowling for that matter, would get the Xtra Factor job. Rochelle seems a possibility likewise the Kiss FM guys.
HELEN WOOD LMAO
That looks like the most abhorrant panel ever. Not one likeable personality at all. Good thing I gave up on this back in 2012.
Even the days of Chris and his nan are yearned for.
Xtra Factor presenters to be revealed imminently and Rochelle Humes has just followed X Factor on Twitter, so I'm guessing she's near enough confirmed. Whether it's Marvin or Rickie/Melvin, I can't say I'm particularly happy about either. I find Rochelle wooden and false presenting-wise anyway, Marvin is even more robotic and they're pretty cringy as a couple hosting on This Morning. Rickie & Melvin on the other hand, not wooden, but extremely annoying but they do seem more suited to a job like this.
Rochelle and Melvin have been announced as Xtra Factor hosts.
It's hilarious that the whole Sweat The Small Stuff panel has joined X-Factor
I don't watch Xtra Factor religiously anyway (I sometimes watch if there's nothing else on, I'm bored/have no plans and there's a good guest) but yeah not great choices. Melvin is ok but kinda irritating and Rochelle is.... Well, at least she's maybe slightly better than Caroline that's all I'll say
I'm delighted with those choices! They've got great chemistry on Sweat the Small Stuff so I think they'll be a great time, and I love Rochelle anyway.
Why in Gods name does Rochelle keep getting work? She's useless as a popstar and even worse as a presenter.
April is going to murder your ass.
Rochelle is a FABULOUS choice. She should have been a judge tbh.
The first auditions tomorrow in Manchester are cancelled due to Simon's mum who passed away this weekend.
Terrible news for Simon, my thoughts are with him and his family.
Confirmed that postponed Manchester auditions will commence tomorrow. Good friends of mine in #MursArmy have a spare ticket for the London auditions next week but not sure I can get time off. Would go in a heartbeat otherwise!
That's a big shame, I went to the auditions last year and I'd definitely recommend it, a fantastic experience!
(I actually saw Ben Haenow's audition that day *_* and Jack Walton/Steph Nala out of the finalists, and Raign!)
First official picture of the new judging line up (and Olly and Caroline):
Olly's there on his own today as Caroline's off filming Love Island...Rita likewise is otherwise indisposed with a commitment in Paris (which prompted my dad to say to me yesterday 'That wot Rita Ora's been sacked!' I wish).
I can't help but feel Rita is going to look out of place as this goes on.
Just as well I didn't get to go to the London auditions next Tuesday...just announced they've been cancelled in light of Simon's mum's funeral. All other London audition dates are still going ahead according to Applause Store.
I wish they'd stop hiring people who can't commit to the whole series.
^I hope that's not in relation to Simon !!!
Wembley auditions resume today and continue into early next week. Meanwhile, Sinitta is throwing a paddy re: the appointment of Grimmy. Why does this leathered old 80's hasbeen keep malingering around the show like a fart in a lift? http://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/sinitta-slams-x-factors-nick-6068880
Sinitta never complained about Simon and Louis' non-ability to sing though did she? Desperate for relevance again I see
The best was when they randomly gave her to Louis at Judges' Houses because she just had to appear that year
Went to the auditions today. Some very talented people, hardly any bad acts!
Went yesterday. I'm very game for Grimmy as a judge.
The two shows I attended, I adored Rita as a judge! There is a disconnect as a four. It's very Cheryl & Simon, Rita & Grimmy.
Oh and I think the winner was there last night as the acts were v. good.
Apparently the rumours of a live broadcast of judge's houses with Olly and Caroline in a central hub back home in the UK are true according to a few of today's papers. Wherever they do judge's houses will surely all need to be on the same time zone for that to happen though, which makes you wonder how they'll manage that?
Apart from showing off and also making the show slightly differ from Pop Idol, what exactly is the point of dragging everyone to a house the judges only live in for that week?
The performances for the judges will be pre-recorded it is just the reveal that is going to be live. TBF there are plenty of beautiful places in a similar time zones to the UK they can go. E.g Spain, Sweden, Iceland and I suppose they could use the East coast of the USA for it as well.
Who says they have to do it in the same timezone anyway?
Yeah, I mean, if it's drastically different, it'll be difficult for the contestants but there's plenty of places that are at least close in time zone that would stop it being ridiculous.
Why the timezone would kind of matter, I'd have thought, is because it's often done outside and it wouldn't really look very picture-esque, nor be easy to film, if it was dark outside.
For places like, say, New York or Las Vegas, where the whole city's practically illuminated at night, it would look a lot better on camera than it would in the daytime.
I'm kind of glad it's live though, for all the problems associated with it the big thing for me is we won't have spoilers of the final 12/16! I know you don't have to look at spoilers but I can never help myself, I end up seeing them and when they're a click away I just have a peek It'll be much more exciting to have the results as a surprise. The spoilers are never 100% accurate but usually you more or less know the top 12/16 from them, maybe with one or two unexpected finalists.
It's just asking for a hot mess.
It will probably be less interesting than before due to the wonders of editing.
Former Junior Eurovision star Cory Spedding is at the centre of an X Factor fix scandal, I've posted all about it http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=180632. I hope Cory has success one day as she is so talented, it's such a shame she's been treated this way.
If it makes you feel better about it, I don't think many people care about an X Factor fix in 2015 so it shouldn't affect her.
Bootcamp is split in 2 bits. This week they are recording "normal'' bootcamp like it was before Six chair challenge and on the 1st and 2nd of September they are filming the Six chair challenge.
I'm sure this is one audition that will end up being talked about, but apparently a Coventry based singer-songwriter by the name of Ben Clark at the London auditions last week got a bit of a rough time from Cheryl: http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/local-news/x-factor-hopeful-hits-wrong-9731051
Of course we'll have to wait and see what he sung for his actual audition to warrant such comments but it's a little bit rude of her to compare an auditionee automatically to a winner that's only had one single out, let alone his first album.
Cheryl being the new Natalia Kills. The audition will be edited out as the nation cannot see 'ooor chezza' being booed
Rumoured guest judges at judges houses are:
Rita Ora and Chris Brown
Nick Grimshaw and Florence and the Machine
Cheryl and Kimberley Walsh
Simon and Nicole Scherzinger
If those are true
Nicole And Florence also should be amazing
Ew at worst GA member though and omg at that other thing even being on :puke2
Cheryl and Nick's judges houses choices I can see being possibly true but I highly doubt Rita's and Simon's choices are accurate especially Rita's.
FLORENCE YAAAAAAAASS. Kimberly can just not though.
An artice in the mirror says different though today
Simon and Paloma Faith <3
Cheryl and Dannii Minogue
Nick and Jess Glynne :/
Rita and TBA
OH f*** OFF JESS GLYNNE & PALOMA FAITH.
I would DIE if it was Cheryl and Danni.
What is wrong with the Cheryl spoiler? I don't get the dislike she has on this site (I quite like her)
As for Scherzinger and Faith rumours, I don't see it happening but hopefully I'm proven wrong as I love Paloma
EDIT: If that article is true she has a point about looking for something fresh but shes SO rude for saying he wasn't listening to her. Obviously can't comment until it airs or whatever but if she thinks anyone who disagrees with her isn't listening it's no wonder why shes heading into flop territory..
Seriously unlikely to see Dannii Minogue appear due to her X Factor AU commitments.
And it's farewell to another constant presence from the last 10 years of X Factor...Peter Dickson has stepped down from being the 'voice' of X Factor: https://twitter.com/peterdickson/status/625999722185146368
A top bloke indeed, up until just after Little Mix's series he used to come to our student's union and host an 'X Factor' night in January with three of that particular year gone's finalists. The one with the 2010 finalists had One Direction in the lineup and it was absolutely mobbed with fangirls.
But he was a great guy, I even got him to record him saying RRRRACCHHELL ADEDAAAJIII which was my answerphone message for a year and a bit until my phone died!
Well this is interesting. Wonder who they will get to replace him, hopefully not Harry Hill.
https://instagram.com/p/5rfUTIQpPs/
Cheryl looking like Skeletor now
http://i.ytimg.com/vi/bdhaHQ_pOeg/maxresdefault.jpg
I have NO idea who they can actually get to replace Peter, unless they just get Caroline and Olly to do the voiceovers?
It's like BB getting rid of Marcus Bentley :'(
Oh god please not Harry Hill I'd take Olly/Caroline doing the voiceovers or even just Marvin/Rochelle as some Xtra Factor joke thing!
R.I.P. X Factor
Is that Mariah saying goodbye to her career?
Are they really going to give Cheryl a category that isn't the boys or girls though? Although apparently the groups are strongest this year so maybe her years of being in a group will be put to use.
I really don't think they should give Nick the Overs, otherwise they'll just become a joke like in previous years. They were really strong last year with Simon, but I think Nick would be better placed with the Boys or the Groups.
The strongest are groups and girls.
Is Nick's guest judge Harry?
Another big 'it's a fix' type stink is trying to be kicked up by the tabloids today...namely in light of the fact Louise Labelle (who was one of the new backing vocalists on Olly's most recent arena tour) auditioned this year and is at boot camp.
I do love in this country that Joe Public make such a ruckus about certain contestants who enter shows like this or 'The Voice' and are constantly reminded of their singing pasts prior to entering the show like they've just committed some awful crime - Esmee Denters on the last series of 'The Voice' was a prime example of this.
There's loads of links.
Backing dancers of Rita auditioned. A former band mate of Ollys. A former Jessie J backing singer who also sings with Olly. A woman who was linked to Sinita's original "So Macho". Shall I continue?
Great trailer!
Love the Chez-bot! Reminds me of the 'Wear My Kiss' video too.
I didn't notice any difference in Cheryl's character in that trailer?
Same amount of auto-tune used on her speaking voice that we would normally hear on her 'singing' voice
She does look very thin as well! I hope she is eating alright
I think the most offensive thing said about Cheryl in this is comparing her to Heidi Range tbh.
I've just noticed Louis as a cleaner right at the end!
Good lord, that trailer was mega cringe
That trailer was brillant, the show is mocking itself and that's good fun, I feel like this year is going to be so much fun !
Hate the advert so cringe
I think the advert is quite good tbh aren't adevert's for entertainment/reality TV shows meant to be cringey anyway ?
Yeah the tone is perfect I think. I don't think it's totally out of the question that they'll still find moderately successful acts but with the way they handle winners lately I'm not expecting any "success" for the winner beyond James Arthur's level! We watch it and get invested but there's really no point in them pretending they're going to find the next Ed Sheeran or Taylor Swift, because they're not and I hate when reality shows act like they will!
TBH, I can easily be detached right now because the last winner I loved was Little Mix, which feels like the last time the series was TRULY a vehicle to find a popstar.
So it's currently looking like the first audition shows will be going out over Bank Holiday weekend on 29th August
Yay! I have tickets to some chair challenge!
I wonder if they will go for shows Saturday, Sunday and Monday?
Just won tickets to attend a session of the Six Chair Challenge! haha
It's got four sessions in total, assuming it's one session per judge I'm hoping I get to see Cheryl picking her acts.
I have too! I'm hoping I get to see the girls category as that always has my favourites in, but seeing any category will be very fun and intriguing too.
Worth going to then if that's the case. I wanna see her struggle with her head in her hands.
Cheryl's very sweet with interacting with the audience. So if you're close to her she'll chat to you
I have tickets for Six Chair Challenge too - second day of filming
First preview of the new series:
I think it's safe to say I'm quite excited about this, yes
Cheryl has had herself a nice lil promotion to Executive Producer
This year the viewers will choose which judge gets which category by a Twitter vote. Great change as it of course means less manipulation, now hopefully they take it one step further and make live show running orders done by a live draw on the previous week's Xtra Factor or something!
Oh wow, I love that idea Will be very interesting to see what way it swings!
Yeah that idea sounds good, it should make that part of the show more exciting! Usually by the end of the auditions when you can tel which category is strongest and then you know that category will be Cheryl's or Simon's Plus there won't be leaks I assume, because we'll decide anyway, which is a plus as I can never seem to avoid spoilers!
Actually, #CherylGroups is the only hashtag that is trending on twitter right now!
Good choice
I'd really like for Cheryl to have the Groups this year, but I can only really see her ending up with the Girls if it's down to a Twitter vote.
I really hope Cheryl finally gets the Groups. It would be typical if she got the Girls for a fourth time!
The groups are really good ! Cheryl!
Ought to be:
Cheryl - Groups
Simon - Overs
Rita - Girls
Nick - Boys
Has Simon ever had the girls before? That'd be interesting, they always seem to get a hard time but as proved with Fleur, he's good at essentially PR'ing people so they seem more likeable and supportable.
Cheryl- Groups
Simon- Girls
Nick- Boys
Rita- Overs
I just dumped Rita with overs as I really want the other 3 to get those categories. Cheryl because she was in a group, Simon for the reasons Rob stated above and Nick for boys cause I think he'll do a good job!
My Choice
Cheryl- Groups
Simon- Girls
Nick- Overs
Rita- Boys
Hopefully Fleur will drop her debut single pretty soon. Its been a long time coming.
I dunno why but i REALLY want rita to get the Boys!
Some promo shots:
Rita literally SLAYING those promo shots *.*
Simon looks SO out of place in that mix. At least with Louis and Shazza he didn't look like he was LEERING over the young ones.
Some promo shots of the rest:
Cheryl:
Caroline:
Caroline & Olly:
Simon:
Rochelle:
Melvin & Rochelle:
Melvin:
Olly:
Nick:
Rita Ora is gonna win the Thermo Fashion Award for hottest X Factor judge based on those shoots, amazing!
I'm really looking forward to this series don't know why but I've got a good feeling about it !
Rochelle looks so awkward in those photo's
"Grimmy" already doing his best to snatch the SMUG c**t crown from Queen Cowell.
Simon's refusal to be styled has never distressed me more than in those group shots. He could at least wear jeans that fit him.
Cheryl doesn't look on top of her fashion game.
That hair! That dress!
Long gone are the days of Cannes 2012.
Also, she's free to do as she wants and lose whatever weight she wants but being this skinny doesn't suit her at all.
Heartbreaking to see Cheryl upstaged by Rota Ora.
Cheryl isn't doing it for me much lately. Rita just oozes sex tbh.
The promo shots are cool. Simon looks a bit more relaxed now, don't you think? Maybe it's being a dad that's done it to him but he seems a lot less like WE MUST FIND THE NEXT LEONA/1D KTHANX. Obviously he always will have that about him, that's part of the show, but it doesn't look like it consumes his every thought and as I've mentioned already, this series feels like it'll be a fun series again.
I'm loving the idea of us choosing the categories, it mixes things up without being all OHMIGOD TWIST like in previous and especially recent series. I think Cheryl would be perfect to do the groups this year. I remember in her first year on the show she really wanted the groups cause of JLS so it'll be nice for her to get them cause obviously being in GA she had more than enough experience and advice to offer.

I'm looking forward to the show for once. Normally it's just something to watch on Saturday out of habit, but this year looks like it could be refreshing to watch.
Oh that's not been disrupted as much as I expected but ugh at the reduced live shows, meaning more double eliminations I presume?
more weeks of buildup than actual live shows does the bootcamp/6 chair challenge really have to be dragged out that long anyway?
still looking forward to it as always
Wow, the live shows are starting super late! They usually have a Halloween themed week a few weeks into the lives!
I'm sorry if it's already been asked (and we probably don't know) but do we know yet how it will play out with the winners single?
I'm assuming it'll be released the Friday after the Sunday show to be in contention for Christmas #1 or will it be the week before?
Wow that is a late start.
They'll probably release each finalist's version of the winner's single on the Friday before the final and whoever's #1 wins.
It's a shame about the reduced number of live shows, but I am pleased that normal Bootcamp and the Six Chair Challenge are going to be getting more time this year!
Three episodes of the 6 chair challenge to allow for Cheryl's 100 hours of indecisiveness to be broadcast x
A shame about the reduced number of live shows, but I'm guessing, minus the first week, if they stick to the standard 12 contestants, there'd be a double elimination every week which keeps it exciting!
Or each judge puts through 4 acts in their category only to cut two out in the first episode as a **TWIST** leaving only 8 acts competing in Week 2 but the ditched acts are put to a live vote for ONE to comeback to the competition as a wildcard at the start of Week 2's episode.
I'm dizzy.
To be honest, less live shows doesn't seem like a bad thing to me, they always take FOREVER in the first few weeks, so if we accelerate that a bit then yay.
I quite like that amount of live shows, however, I'd just wish they'd get rid of Bootcamp (or cut it down to one episode). By far the most boring and uninteresting part of the whole show.
I love the six chair challenge though, so that doesn't bother me but how will all four get split over 3 episodes? 1hr 30mins each category?
Actually, now that I think it over they might try and go for something closer to The Voice and eliminate one act in each category during the first two live shows. 8 acts left competing in Week 3 with a double elimination shock lurking in the shadows.
It would make sense as they're dragging out Bootcamp and the Six Chair Challenge, making us more emotionally attached to the acts before they get on that stage.
Something interesting would be a vote to save and a vote to eliminate, possibly in the first week, and the four people with the highest percentage of votes to eliminate are out. Then we can have single eliminations for the rest of the shows. Oh, and I really hope that from when there are five contestants left the act with the lowest votes is eliminated directly.
Anyway, if things went according to my proposed twist, the number of people in each week would look like this:
Week 1: 12 acts
Week 2: 8 acts
Week 3: 7 acts
Week 4: 6 acts
Week 5: 5 acts
Week 6 (semi-final): 4 acts
Week 7 (Final): 3 acts
I think it's likely to go:
Week 1: 12 acts
Week 2: 10 acts
Week 3: 8 acts
Week 4: 7 acts
Week 5: 6 acts
Week 6 (semi-final): 5 acts (one leaving on Saturday, maybe as part of a #twitter vote again or something like that and one on Sunday)
Week 7 (Final): 3 acts
or something, either way I don't think we'll lose an act from each category in the first week
The lineup looks better, the six chair challenge is a bit dragged out. Its a shame about the live shows been stripped down, less live music guests. I reckon 2 acts will go each weekend, one on Saturday, and the other Sunday. Until there are 6 acts left or so, with 1 going out each week.
They COULD just remove 5 minutes of padding from the Sunday show and still have 2 guests every week, or even THREE given half the show consists of nothing of any consequence whatsoever.
Xtended ( sorry I HAD to!) Promo AKA First look. Hopefully it will wet your appetite until tomorrow (Saturdays) premier! (Could this be the opening for this series?)
That preview has got me all kinds of excited I like the fact it's poking fun at the show with the whole Cheryl's fear of the six chair challenge etc
Some previews for tomorrow:
Techno Susan:
Lauren:
4th Power:
All I'm saying is 4TH POWER!!!!!!
These girls are amazing!!!!! With my love of K-pop. They are the closest i think we would ever get over here (I know they are from the Philippines)
Quite a typical X Factor song list for tonight according to Digital Spy, however I hope the girl that is singing Ariana Grande's Just A Little Bit Of Your Heart is given a decent amount of airtime as that is a very inspired choice.
It really is a beautiful song and probably my favourite non-single froorm that album! It's the type of song that could zoom up the charts (along the lines of 'I Know You Won't) with a bit of airtime too.
This madam is crazy! Poor 2 Unlimited!
Lauren has a good enough voice but if that is one of the BIG hopes of the year...
God that was so horribly staged with the song choice. It was X factor saying we get criticised for the same Whitney songs over and again but it wasn't our fault. Well it was because they are used in the lives every week.
This bitch has won me over already *.*
Another staged song choice, 'Nooooooooooo we don't wanna hear Beyonce or Celine Dion any more'!!!!!!!!!!!!
I AM SLAYED.
Yeah I'm not loving this whole "Oh well we want you to sing this" shit. Just tell them to sing it from the off.
Cheryl needs to STOP with the accents right now. Abysmal.
I CANT STAND THE JUDGES TELLING THE CONTESTANTS WHAT TO SING....THEY ARE AUDITING IN FOR YOU. SHOULD BE THERE CHOICE, NOT YOURS
Who wants to hear a big Celine or Beyonce ballad in 2015? Certainly nobody cool enough to be deemed X Factor worthy.
What people can have backing dancers now?
omg Techno Susan *_*
Ugh, what manufactured bollocks. Who sings that kind of song to highlight their singing. Clearly just in it for a quick dabble with "fame".
Cheryl is a triple threat? Is this show just trying to be a parody now?
Love Cheryl BUT HA Triple Threat you kidding.....She mimes like 90% of performances
That voice!! Haha wtf. No thanks.
Sam Smith wannabe, one of those is enough thanks.
So Celine and Beyonce are no-go's get Adele - Make You Feel My Love is allowed....I have heard this song more
It was like he was impersonating Jessie J
His voice isn't even that good, but I guess because he doesn't LOOK right it must be.
I was on the Internet and I thought it was a woman singing this song.
So far we have had the chavy girl who is better than you'd think, the crazy one, the arguing couple, the fat dodgy looking guy with a big voice and the older lady with her last chance. It is still X factor by numbers no amount of 'new' or trying to say they don't want big ballad songs is changing that.
What the fook was that, and 4 yes votes, and he looked so boring and grumpy as hell in the run up.
Lauren was good, apart from that the rest of the show has been rather dull.
Cant stand Grimmy so far, Never wanted to punch a judge more
ASIANS*.*
Oh my YES at this hot slice of girl group action
omg the slayage
Buzzjack goes crazy with this girl group.
Has Grimmy come out yet? I mean he really is just a 40 years younger Louis at this point.
Is Nick Grimshaw gay, he is camp as hell?
They were good, only really good ones in the show so far really.
SLAY ME ASIANS
They was amazing
so this is what 2ne1 are doing now.
They were a bit shouty though, at some point they are going to have to tone it down and sing something more lyrics driven and that will be the make or break moment.
They were really good, but one of them especially was an amazing singer and I hope she takes more of the vocals in future. She was the one that stood on the far left at the beginning and sung Ariana's parts of the song.
Wow TOTALLY love that girl group, and great track to perform, it really showed their voices, blew me away, great performance.
they actually sang it better than Jessie.
(not that its that hard to do)
I think 4th Power weren't perfect but they have MASSIVE potential to be amazing I think they just need to reign in the vocals a bit and not oversing as much .
I'm so glad that they took the TOWIE esque audience talking thing out way better that way.
hot guy*.*
I wonder if Olly urged him to do this
EDIT: Hot Guy
Oh no he's got a child that will stop loving him and die if he doesn't make it!!!!1!1!!!!!!
I don't know why but I find ginger stubble hot, Alonso is the perfect example of it.
i hate him already
Thing is, do we really need another personality free downtempo male singer? Hell no.
Forgetting the lines to Budapest is unforgivable in my eyes
he just needs to do his next song shirtless.
Rita speaking the truth. Refreshing.
Well Rita I don't remember any of your songs so...........
Oh now they're all at it.
Rita actually telling the truth though. She's not as awful as i thought she was going to be.
Don't really like Nick Grimshaw and Rita is alright.
4th Power were great, definitely have a lot of potential. Loved the woman who sang Mary Mary's "Shackles (Praise You)". So far a decent first episode!
Quite like Rita She is my fave so far.
Nick Grimshaw on the other hand I would rather have Ablisa as my Mentor/Judge than him
Feel quite sorry for that guy, pretty much used as a reason to give Olly Murs a storyline when he's otherwise clearly very average.
omg this pitchy drunk woman.
omg this hot guy*.*
So this is all building up to a "shock" yes for red dress girl
"Better In Time" instrumental and Leona mention
OMG Her Voice *.*
This girl is good.
Well, thank goodness her nerves didn't stop her from oversinging the shit out of that
I don't really like Louisa's tone actually. Good voice but nowhere near as good as they're making her out to be and needs work.
Andrea's audition with that song >>>>>>>>
"Footprints In The Sand" too.
She has a great voice, but I think it would've better had she shown a little restraint.
Ready for the Asians to take over.
Was a good 1st show! Excited for the rest of the series. Gonna catch up on the Xtra Factor tomorrow.
Great first episode! Grimmy and Rita do work well, more than I expected them to. 4th Power are so cute and AMAZING performance from them. I can see them going far. Likewise Jennifer - I love that she did Mary Mary 'Shackles' as well, that's one of my favourite songs. Techno Susan was hilarious as well, I want some of her energy when I'm 60 please
It was really sad to see Jon get four no's, especially seeing Olly's reaction cause you could see how much he was rooting for him and it shows what a heart of gold he has. But they were absolutely right to not put him through - he can sing but he needs that confidence in himself as a performer because he looked like a rabbit in headlights.
He could easily come back next year if he uses the time wisely to build his confidence and I think he should. It took Olly three years on the trot of trying out for X Factor, even Alexandra Burke did it twice and she won the thing.
Oh and Olly and Caroline - PERFECT
Loved tonight's episode. Judges and presenters were brilliant! Talent as well was amazing!Lauren,Jennifer,Tom Bleasby,Tom Davies,4th Power and Louisa were all fantastic!
yeah I tried watching Xtra Factor last year and there is no point, gave up after a few weeks
finally this has started lemme download first episode!
XF only got 7.65m viewers last night.. Nearly 2 million down on last nights opener
But it did drop to those kind of levels fairly quickly last year anyway. Maybe it'll just be more stable this year.
Well it is at 7.5m already and Strictly isn't cutting into its audience yet, doesn't look good.
Apparently the Tom person who loves Cheryl and brought his backing dancers follows me on twitter #impact
I was at Louisa's audition. So good. Same with Olly's ex band member. That was just super awkward.
I would compare this weeks audition with the bank holiday ratings last year as it is nearly always lower figures.
If it settles into a ~7 million (overnight) average it'll be fine. We all know it's not a juggernaut anymore. Plus this year I would wager even with TWO host it's cheaper on talent costs purely because Rita/Nick/Caroline/Olly don't have much negotiating POWER in terms of bagging £££ compared with Louis, Sharon, Mel etc.
it didn't take long for the first X Factor scandal to happen...
Well, it's hardly the first time it's happened. I love that even at it's nadir it's still able to drive ridiculous headlines.
Pretty sure anyone without a UK record deal can audition for the show?
Does anybody still watch this?
The last good season was Alexandra vs Diana V! No wait, Cher Lloyd and moral winner Wagner season was good for all the wrong reasons.
Fix Factor is awful manipulates headlines to get people to vote for who the produce es want. Chris Maloney was winning until they pumped oot all those stories.
All y'all Spice fans should boycott it foe their Rita over Mel B fiasco.
Jesus CHRIST that kid who sang Adele was absolutely terrible. Like on a Jay James level! I had to mute it. He'll be in the live shows then
4th Power were epic though Such power and sass and there are SO cute Who cares if they've been trained? I'm pretty sure people who've studied music for example, and loads of them will have had singing lessons etc. I'd much rather have someone who's trained a bit and is as good as them compared to some of these "I only sing in my room lol xxx" types who are awful. They KILLED it, probably the best rendition of that song I've heard to date.
Loved Louisa too, I can see her maybe going far for sure <3 What a voice.
The show was quite good overall I thought, it 's obviously past its best but it's good Saturday night (or Sunday afternoon for me ) entertainment. The song changing trope did get boring though, just let them sing what they want. It's especially irritating when someone isn't allowed to sing Whitney or Celine for example and yet the most overused song in XF history (Make You Feel My Love) is allowed every time :/ I really like Rita already too, she was quite refreshing. She was nice enough but also honest when she needed to be. I'll still need convincing over Grimmy though...
Oh I like how they asked them to change the songs actually! it was so refreshing to see Jennifer perform Shackles rather than Halo, it's good to see them encouraging variety. Make You Feel My Love is a bore each time though, that shouldn't have been let through
From what I saw last night, basically the first half, it was the best audition show I've seen in years and that's mostly down to Louis no longer being there really. He was just a huge waste of a space on the panel. It's also helped that they've dropped the TOWIE elements a lot more too and they're having a lot more fun with some slightly more original song choices even if some slipped through the net. That guy who sang Adele though must have been asked by producers to audition after the viral Jessie J video.
I don't like the idea of the auditionees being able to have dancers etc on stage though. The first audition should be to show that they can command the stage by themselves. The guy who sang Justin Bieber with all those dancers behind him surely wouldn't have got as many positive comments if the dancers weren't there. It was a pretty average performance if you take them away and suggested to me he had to hide behind them in order to stand out.
If they were making them change to encourage variety than great, but it was making them change because they didn't like/didn't want to hear a certain type of song that makes it awful. I agree that Shackles was a great choice for her, so tell her BEFORE she goes on stage. They obviously already KNOW given they have all the tracks set up and stuff.
Hmm but it IS the X Factor and as Bowie McCartney etc Have said guys like them would not Have got through on voice alone in these contesta and they're the biggest stars ever.
Yah Lui was teeerrible nd used that show to keep floggin that awful dead beige horse of a Shitlife banda.
This is already shaping up to be a better series than the last three. The talent is looking very promising! 4th Power are definitely my favourites so far. It's refreshing to see XF actually embrace more original acts for a change. I feel 4th Power would absolutely nail 'Lady Marmalade'. As for that Tom Bleasby guy, he really needs to stop imitating Jessie J's over-singing. That was an excruciating performance to sit through.
I'm annoyed. Someone please tell the judges that it's supposed to be a SINGING competition. Olly's mate could sing, but not brilliantly, yet didn't get through yet the 60 year old woman on first couldn't sing, was like a novelty act, yet she had personality and so she went through. Couldn't tell a word the Filipino lasses were singing either! What was their song called?
I think Whitney songs must be quite hard to sing, to get the high notes so are quite a challenge actually.
I really enjoyed this episode! Really strong start I think. 4th Power were great, a bit TOO grunty and shouty in places, but they performed the crap out of it!
Tom Bleasby was technically good, but such a boring voice. I liked his Smule duet with Jessie J, but his voice irked me as he had no control over his voice whatsoever. This audition wasn't different either. Jennifer was very good too! Louisa was my favourite by quite a way (and I HATE that song in a "Typical X Factor Audition Song" sort of way - so over done now - which makes the whole judges changing song thing ridiculous). She oddly reminds me of Kelly Clarkson and it wouldn't surprise me if she went a similar route to the start of her career. Sang powerful and soulful songs all through the show, whilst showing versatility and has a very mediocre debut, but smashes it with stuff that really suit her voice and gives us the pop/rock album of the new generation! *.* (Fantasy world!)
Onto the judges. I have nothing negative to say this year tbh. They all worked brilliantly together and the chemistry between the four of them was great to see! Carolly were also a breath of fresh air.
So far, I'm pro-2015 XF! Looking forward to the rest of the season.
I miss Louis actually. Would rather have him there than Cowell.
There'll be no Saturday XF on at least two Saturday evenings in September due to the rugby WC. Sundays continue as normal.
As I said yesterday I was slightly unconvinced by the vocal abilities of a couple of the 4th Power members, however this performance of 'Let It Go' on another TV show in Korea has now convinced me!
they're allowed a backdrop intro now??
I thought we were going to get sledgehammer for a minute
The Whitney obsessed girl and the last girl last night were so good
They have put their own production into it, that was incredible, they could go all the way, as I love the performance and everything about it.
The first group was awful, the track said it all "bye, bye"
Louisa's Dad posts on the West Ham fan's forum I'm on. He's extremely proud of her and judging by her performance, so he should!
"Something special" with Uptown Funk is a carbon copy of the original? Ok then
They could dance though, which is nice for an X factor male/boyband. Have we ever had a male dance on X factor?
So 4th Kind, The Kings and Chloe Page are locked on for judges houses.
Oh this bitch is GOOOOD. Loving the song choice too.
Chloe was so amazing And amazing song choice *.*
YES AT 'CRYING FOR NO REASON' BEING USED <3
Bit of a bland version of that song though. Nice voice, but that's it for me. Hopefully it'll give CFNR a boost though *.*
Chloe looks and sounded amazing, but I don't know if she will get to lives tbh
Wowww, she was incredible An inspired song choice that was performed so effortlessly, you can always tell when is REALLY good because they just don't have to force it. Easily the best I've seen so far!
Knowing this show she'll be the one who gets dumped at JH for someone with a controversial personality
Chloe was really good, and brilliant song choice.
Cheryl's dark eye shadow gives me the creeps
That Opera voice tho
Omg the Netherlands duo.
Moved from Australia to do the UK X Factor, rather than the much superior X Factor AU.
Oh my. This guy surely has live show written all over him.
Well he's certainly got the VOX
This is just so cringe, I feel embarrassed for him.
Wow, he is really good, love that performance, he gave it everything.
Good performance, but Rita crying? Really?
That was a great performance. His voice is EXACTLY what Andrea's should have been last year! YES.
THAT WAS AMAZING, DID NOT EXPECT THAT. I really expected some camp performance but then he choose that song and it was superb
Tonight's show is really good, if the best acts from today's show get into the lives its going to be a good season, at least 3 of those acts along with Louisa and probably the girl group.
Oh I was wondering what the USS was going to be. Dead friend is at least not a common one.
Wow Sean was brilliant! I expected him to do a Rylan and sort of sing Abba or Madonna but that was an incredibly strong performance.
Oh and this guy really doesn't have that good a voice. But Labrinth can't actually sing this song love either.
He was great, didn't need the sob story at all, the performance had passion and depth without knowing about his friend. Really nice though.
I actually cried at that guy's performence, I need a minute
Nice voice and good audition, but can't see him holding up too well in the competition.
Good audition, been the last act on the show, he was bound to go through to the next stage though.
That was so contrived, classic X Factor.
What was Cheryl blabbering on about at the end? Should I stay or go?
Oh Cheryl always has to make it about her and her big heart.
This episode was fantastic, the show has never been this good and entertaining !
And that very last audition was so emotional. God I love X Factor all over again.
The last guy was good but I agree that the sob story was a bit much. In fact when they push the sob story I feel less emotional than I normally would But he did so well with that song, I don't like the original at all but he really took it and made it great.
Sammy01 is getting a lot of heat on here tonight , the guy who sang Labrinth's Jealous did a really good job imo. My favourite performance of the weekend was the Mary Mary performance.
Sean was the best one so far. Who cares what he's wearing if you sound that good? he seems really nice too.
Really loving the judges this year. As much as I miss Mel, they all work well together and I don't miss Louis at all, Nick's certainly a vast improvement.
That last audition was really emotional - the story behind it, and Simon's whole reaction was really heartfelt. Cheryl's however did feel somewhat contrived.
I really want Rita to collab with Cheryl on a single and have them perform it at the live shows
