This started happening while I was opening a lot of old threads from a search result. Everything looks fine until I open a thread, when a preview of 'posts in the topic' shows up and where are the posts should be there is just an OP and a lot of black lines. I also get this error message in some threads: "Sorry, some required files are missing, if you intended to view a topic, it's possible that it's been moved or deleted. Please go back and try again." and they won't open.

Sounds like you need to switch the display mode from 'outline' to 'standard'?

(Drop-down menu to the right of the screen across from where the topic title is)

this has happened to a few people so I have disabled the other topic view modes (which do not work anyway). The drop down is still there but changing selection will not be saved!
