I think Villa will just accept anyone with proven experience right now regardless of their history. McLeish was obviously unpopular due to the fact he came directly from Brum & just wasn't very good really (granted he did win the League Cup) but got relegated twice as well.

Not sure of the logic of the events at Birmingham City. Rowett has been sacked and Zola has been appointed.
