I should be able to start this this evening. Maybe even finish it, we'll see how it goes. I'm currently adding all the answers from the 24 entries and starting the write-ups, so if anyone else wants to enter last minute, do it now! This post has been edited by Joe.: 17th August 2015, 11:50 AM |

While I finish commentary, here's a reminder of the questions:
1) Name a Pixar feature film. 2) Name a popular genre of mainstream cinema. 3) Name a film that Meryl Streep has been nominated for an Academy Award (Oscar) for. 4) Name a female Disney villain. 5) Name a black and white film. 6) Name (or link me to?) an iconic moment at any Oscars ceremony. 7) Name any film adapted from a DC Comic. 8) Name a Foreign (non-English) language film. 9) Name Steven Spielberg film. 10) Name a quote from mean girls.* |

Question 1: Name a Pixar feature film.
|18| Toy Story | (J▲hq, Joe, Spadam, Leonardo, Ultraviolence1989, Mack, Robot, Fgiboy2511 ,Ninjabait, Jay, THEO., Tim, Dobbo, burbe, NellyDoll. S, FROOT, Acidburn, Josh, Haus) |1| Inside Out| (Chez Wombat, Lindsey ♌) |1| Finding Nemo |(Jonjo, 『bré』) |0| Incredibles| (Regina) With the first question comes the easiest question. The answer here, is, of course, Toy Story. I would have expected a couple more Finding Nemos, but Toy Story was always going to be the winner, here. Well done to everyone who went for Toy Story, you all score a whopping 18 points, the highest earning score of the game! |

Question 2: Name a popular genre of mainstream cinema.
|9| Comedy | (J▲hq, Mack, Lindsey ♌, Ninjabait, Jay, THEO., Dobbo, FROOT, Acidburn, Josh) |4| Horror| (Chez Wombat, Robot, Jonjo, NellyDoll. S, Haus) |3| Action|(Joe, Spadam, Leonardo, 『bré』) |2| Rom-Com|(Regina, Fgiboy2511, Tim) |0| Animation| (Ultraviolence1989) |0| Thriller| (burbe) Going from quite an easy question with a clear answer, we move onto to something rather vague. I had no idea what would come on top here, as can be seen by my own answer. Comedy reigns supreme here, which isn't a huge surprise. Even the sub-genre 'romantic comedy' picks up 2 points. UV takes a long shot with Animation, sorry hen, that didn't really work out. This post has been edited by Joe.: 17th August 2015, 06:25 PM |

Yay! Comedy is my favourite, I didn't really think of action, my second thought probably would've been 'drama' (and how that would've been)

Ugh. I really thought 'Finding Nemo' would put up a bigger fight than that! Especially as it's so loved on here and it WON a rate (I think it did, didn't it?).
What an awful start for me! |

Question 3: Name a film that Meryl Streep has been nominated for an Oscar for..
|12| The Iron Lady | (J▲hq, Joe, Ultraviolence1989, Regina, Mack, Jonjo, 『bré』, Jay, THEO., Dobbo, FROOT, Josh, Haus) |5|Devil Wears Prada | (Leonardo, Robot, Ninjabait, Tim, burbe, NellyDoll. S) |1| Into The Woods| (Chez Wombat, Lindsey ♌) |0| Kramer Vs Kramer | (Acidburn) |0| The Deer Hunter | (Spadam) |0| Sophie's Choice | (Fgiboy2511) I always think it's interesting to flip previous pointless questions and turn them into Family Fortunes questions, which is what I've done with J▲hq's previous round. Meryl's name is synonymous with Oscars, and here, her most recent win picks up the most votes with her performance in The Iron Lady (Booo Thatcher etc.), coming second is the film that pushed Meryl's name into the younger generation's eyeline within pop culture, Devil Wears Prada (Boooo Anna Wintour!) Her most recent nomination Into The Woods (Hurrah! Evil witch) gets Chez and Lindsey a point each. None of Meryl's classics scored any points. Sorry to Spadam, Acidburn and Fgiboy. 4) Name a female Disney villain.
|6| Ursula (The Little Mermaid) | (Leonardo, Regina, Lindsey ♌, Fgiboy2511, Jay, Tim, Josh) |6| Maleficent (Sleeping Beauty) | (Joe, Chez Wombat, Jonjo, NellyDoll. S, FROOT, Acidburn, Haus) |5| Cruella De Vil (101 Dalmatians) | (Spadam, Ultraviolence1989, Mack THEO., Dobbo, burbe) |0| Wicked Stepmother (Cinderalla) | (J▲hq) |0| Evil Witch (Snow White) | (bré) |0| Mother Gothel (tangled) | (Ninjabait) |0| Edna Mode (Incredibles) |(Robot) Unless, there was a twist I forgot about, Edna Mode is not a villain. She is half Disney and somewhat female, so at least that part was correct. I was expecting Maleficent to pick up more of a landslide here, but instead she ties with the sea witch Ursula as the joint highest answer, with dog-snatching Cruella trailing closely behind. |
