Camila Cabello has stiff competition this week, as Eminem's comeback single Walk On Water, featuring Beyoncé, is giving it a run for its money. Can it go all the way though? Keep an eye out for other new releases from Jason Derulo, Fuse ODG, and this year's John Lewis single by Elbow. Keep an eye out on X Factor boosts for Paloma Faith and Harry Styles too!
Taylor Swift should dethrone Sam Smith this week, despite his BBC special, with her new album reputation. It'll be her third UK #1 album in a row if it makes it next Friday! Other new releases come from Bradley Walsh, Elton John, Seal and several others.

Taylor 46k at #1, Sam Smith on 8k at #3
Taylor must be shook at what that BBC special boost did for Sam that everyones been saying would hold her off #1
pretty good for taylor, guess she'll do >100k then
Sam's first day 35k -> 97k by the end of week
Taylor 46k -> Maybe 105k or so?
was thinking that probably taylor is gonna be more frontloaded, she has the hardcore fans that sam smith doesn't
1989 sold about the same and ended up with 90k. I think reputation will be a little but more frontloaded so I think around 80k is more likely.
I wish I was living in a world where the Corrs could still get a no.1 album.
So it looks like that TV special didn't really help Sam's album sales much at all then? Not complaining or anything but continuing to be pretty shocked at how much this album is underperforming. Do we know what is at #2 ahead of it right now? Did it fall behind Roy Orbison already or is it another one of the new releases?
Slightly better first day sales than I'd have predicted for Taylor, she stands some chance of matching the opening of '1989' then maybe (although the lack of first week streaming sales is not going to help her with that).
Wow... didn't expect opening sales of 45k, I expect her album will do well over the weekend sales wise, should sell pretty well with the run up to Xmas, might just break into 6 figures by the end of the week.
Shed Seven ahead of Sam Smith I should imagine Sam Smith will edge back to #2 later in the week though
unbelievable that shed seven are at #2
I still can't see Taylor doing 100k. She will be very frontloaded, probably looking at 80-90k for the week I think.
Never heard of Shed Seven before Chris Moyles played their new single on his breakfast show and went on about how great they are, I suppose they're just doing well from the fans waiting so long anyway. I didn't think the song was all that.
shed seven never were that famous, typical indie with album debuting low top 10 on week 1, then out of the top 40 the next week
just checked their discography on wiki and it's not that amazing
Change giver #16 (1994)
A Maximum high #8 (1996)
Let it ride #9 (1998)
Going for Gold-Best #7 (1999)
truth be told #42 (2001)
Cant believe I was worried about Taylors success. The reviews are great and the fans love it. Some of the haters will hate either way.
She is going to have another massive era, potentially as big as 1989.
She’ll be very front loaded
Doesn't that lyric already feature (in some format) in every one of her singles?
Im a Taylor fan but passing on this one due to the poor quality both musically and lyrically of the 4 songs we heard
Don't think you're a fan then
Never said I wasn't a fan, I will surely give the Album a listen. I acknowdge it is a personal view but I don't always appreciate the themes in her lyrics, prefer if she moved on a bit and there was more of a happier positive tone.
Dress has to be a single as well.
Surely Camila has the no1 again this week unless the Eminem streams are crazy.
From Mint Royale:
"If I had a penny for every album Nick Knowles has sold so far this week I’d be able to buy a Happy Meal for Nick and that’s all."
"To be fair, I would have enough left over for something like a Dairy Milk as well."
Wow Sam Smith only 8k? So much for the Thursday promo.
So around 320
Wish I could get a burger, chips, drink and a toy for 99p
I deliberately didn't try to do the numbers because I've no idea what a Happy Meal cost.
Wonder if listen without prejudice is still top 10,hopefully the X factor weekend on George Michael will give the album a bit of a boost in sales.
I hope Evanescence debuts in the TOP 10.
lol how did a happy meal get into this topic how random, I like salt and vinegar on my chips
More importantly, what exactly is a Nick Knowles?
Also, I think people's main issue with Taylor writing about her exes are the lyrics. They're quite immature in comparison to the likes of everyone else.
Although not quite as bad as what Taylor gets, I remember there being a similar sort of backlash for Ed with 'Don't' for example
Wow Evanescence are still around?
My problem with Taylor Swift is not songs about her exes, it's the inability of self-criticism and to see the world around her, she's not a spoiled teen anymore, but I guess the new album is softening that a bit.
in the past Taylor had great songs about her ex that had great melodies and genious lyrics, and it was something new
now it sounds forced, like you know in advance what all sogs are gonna be about, so there's something fake about it,
while before the lyrics were natural and pretty realistic and even relatable
plus the genious lyrics are gone, zero so far that I've heard
while there were so many genious moments in the last 2 albums
blank space ("got a long list of ex-lovers, they'll tell you I'm insane, but I've got a blank space baby, and I'll write your name"), the whole shake it off ("I go on too many dates, but I can't make them stay"), I know you were trouble ("That you never loved me or her, or anyone, or anything"),
the whole We are never ( remember when we broke up, the first time...we hadn't seen each other in a month, when you said you needed space,What?")
now there are no genious lyrics + the music is basic and lacks melodies and hooks
amazed she's still selling well, good for her if she still can sell despite the drop in quality
Blank Space is totally amazing, the lyrics are actually fantastic there. However, she used to write full albums aboit the same topic. That's just quite a lot.
minty just twitted this
Swifto is selling about 20% faster than Sam Smith last week in the UK so will probably top 100k. #stats
Was worried about the fact thay she released the lead ao early with yhe 3 songs followong but the album is literally full of hits so she can keep this album going for a while.
WHat does that 20% more even mean? 20% more on a daily basis (great) or overall (she already was that much ahead)
i read it as 20% more than sam smith at the same point last week (sun mids), was he on 48K at this point? that would put taylor at ca. 58K (I think)
If 58k, that's not very good second day for Taylor, 12k... it will drop to under 8k/daily fairly soon. 100k is still possible.
58k would be the exact same increase as 1989 so I'd take that!
I'm surprised Sam's Thursday show hasn't done much really to boost his sales (yes OK 4 hours sale would have counted to last week)
>100k would be incredible for Taylor!
I want a Happy Meal now
if Taylor Swift is at 58k after two day sales then her sales have dipped by 74% which shows that it is pretty much frontloaded.
Nonetheless, it will most probably clear 100k, even if it averages 8k-9k per day.
Happy meal comments was only ever brought up because of what minty said over sales, We didn't randomly just go off topic and start talking about happy meals for no reason. Lighten up and grab a maccies
I’ll say 83K for Taylor, seeing as she’s very frontloaded.
They should release a Nick Knowles Happy Meal toy.
Maybe Taylor may end up doing better than I originally thought this week. Seems she's taking the Adele route by not releasing it straight to Spotify. Quite surprised at how Sams sales seem to have collapsed I thought he would have had a bit more consistency.
Gradually beginning to like Rita's new one, can actually see this being a potential contender for xmas no.1 in a few weeks.
Taylor making all the tracks "album only" apart from the singles is probably helping her with sales, the only people can get the duet with Ed Sheeran is buying the album
I know it probably sold a few extra copies due to an ed collab but I don't
Think that's the main reason people are buying it
I’d say they’re album only because they want everyone to buy End Game all at once, to maximise impact.
they're album-only in order to maximize album sales and sell more, especially in the US, which is their #1 priority
just shows how powerful taylor is that she can make itunes bend the knee and not allow cherrypicking,
when cherrypicking has always been itunes #1 policy
I think it's a great way to encourage purchasing the full album. Although without a streaming option we'd likely just see piracy rise again.
The whole album-only thing is dependent on the labels/artists. There's many instances of songs being album-only on iTunes from over the years.
65k for Taylor now, 25k for Sam.
Looks like Rita will be #2
Hmm that's 7k for Taylor per day. It'll drop below Sam's opening now.
Where is Eminem/Bey?
What you reckon Reputation is gonna sell?
Great for Rita! Best top 2 in ages.
Taylor could still make 100k if she averages 8.75k a day. Yesterday was a Sunday so I could see her doing more than 7k today
So sales have slowed down even further for Taylor Swift around 42% down on its previous day.
Her album will need to pick up slightly during the remaining week for it to hit 100k+
I Think she might miss out tbh, depending on whether she has any promo this week?
Rita #2?!
She should be #1 once Havana goes on ACR
I'm calling Anywhere for Christmas number 1

Rita isn't that far behind! Yas at Stormzy looking set for top ten.
Anyone know the sales for listen without predudice this week,it's getting so close to 5 times platinum
Who would have thought Taylor beating Sam Smith to #1 in week 2, great sales for Taylor, I think she could just come under 100k in the end. I wish Evanescence was a lot higher
Rita Ora needs a big surge from somewhere to dethrone Camila.
Argh, annoying position for The Corrs, considering White Light lost out on a top 10 position by a handful of sales I was hoping this would manage it (despite not being as good an album) but I'm sure it will teeter into the 11-20 region pretty quickly.
Looks like Big Shaq is going to get another play on Friday
Sales for Taylor Swift:
Physical: 29,637
Downloads: 35,800
Streams: 0!
Total: 65,437
Hopefully P!nk will climb back into the top 10 on the album chart come Friday. Should start seeing "Beautiful Trauma" increase in airplay to help push its sales now.
I can accept Pink being out of the top 10 if the Corrs can stay there (even though White Light was a better album and that just missed out) it would be great to see them with their first top 10 album in 13 years!
Kidz Bop getting another top 40 album, slay.
Technically those four songs aren't tagged to an album on streaming sites, so it won't count I guess.
I assume download sales for Taylor's album are up in comparison to normal weeks for other albums? (For most other albums)!
There's no album called Reputation on streaming services yet so of course there are no streams either.
Really surprised to see Evanescence outside the Top 10, previous Studio Albums have all made the Top 5, this is a major underperformance.
Any news on Nick Knowles?
Clean Bandit coming for that Yuletide top ten hit
What is it with this time of year that so many random tv personalities release albums out of the blue maybe the public have realised and won't buy any more
Let's not forget that Bradley Walsh had the biggest selling debut in the UK last year, record companies are jumping on the bandwagon of tv personalities releasing Albums, hope it a short-lived trend and we can get back to some decent new Artists getting a look in.
Where is pink on this update?
I had hoped the corrs could get top 10 but it's likely they end up low top 15 at best now😞
Pleased to see Katie Melua return at #53 with her Christmas album - such a great album.
Steps down to #58 Thought they may have held on a little better than this.
Also thought corrs would be top 10 for sure
Same for Evanescense
If Aha can go top 10 with a live album...
The Corrs have come back too quickly after the last one I think. There is no buzz about them at all this time.
Its been 2 years since the last album from the Corrs so i dont feel it is too quick at all.

Shed Seven all set to equal their best peak position, #7.
What's up with Shed Seven's sales? Have they sold less than 100 copies in two days or is there an error somewhere?
Big Shaq looking safe for a top 10 this week now then and Stormzy headed for his third top 10 as lead artist as well, fab. x Elbow doing a hell of a lot better than Vaults did last year ;o
shed seven is a pledge album, thats why the strange sales pattern
More like a copy and paste error from me!
Is pink number 10 or George Michael in album charts
Looks like Taylor be finishing on around 90k-95k come friday then, I'm guessing she might just beat her opening for "1989" by a few thousand. Which is great for her!
The Corrs dropping was expected. I can but hope, top 15 is safe for them.
'17' shaping up to peak at #17 then
Decent sales for Sam in week 2 then - should do 45-50k and the top 6 should break 20k!
Taylor Swift won’t clear 100k now.
Sam Smith already outselling Taylor. Will it be him vs Paloma Faith next week?
What's that Elton John album?
His comeback single was expected to be massive but only looking to go top 5 with moderate sales (although it could grow)
