Due to record label pressure the Official Charts Company have announced that in the wake of Ed Sheeran's recent top 20 domination, album tracks will no longer be eligible to count in the singles chart unless they are released as singles. The change will take effect from April 14th. Thank god for that.

Good April Fools jokes do have an element of truth. It could be true. And I hope it is. But they won't react this quickly. Would they?

They also announced that streaming will be removed from the singles chart but there will be a new combined sales chart which will include sales and streaming
