Incredibly hyped for this! It looks utterly bizarre and mad which is what I’m here for. Even though it wasn’t planned to be the first of the Disney+ TV series, it seems the perfect one to start with considering they’re playing with classic TV tropes.
I've no idea what to expect from this show but I am very hyped!
It almost seems a bit like the Fallout game from the preview, Marvel doesn't fascinate me at all but this kind of does.
The first 2 episodes are beautifully done, period specific and accurate representations of key sitcoms from the late 50's and early 60's - but with gradual hints about what is going on in the current Marvel universe. It's great to see Anya from Buffy in there too, and a semi-regular from Friends.
I absolutely love this, honestly. The first two episodes did a great job of setting up the mystery but hoo boy. Episode three has dropped. It answers some questions we had and raises even more. If anyone is even remotely interested in The MCU, give this a watch.
I've been liking the approach a lot! Very different for it's genre. Not sure how much longer I can go with the sitcom format before I want it to start moving further into the "reality" of things. But I feel like we've only got one more episode of the sitcom trope (We haven't seen them do their Halloween ep yet where they dress up) and then we are gonna move forward.
But they've got the classic sitcom format down to a tea. It's brilliant. The last 5 minutes of the episode that dropped today... holy cow! Legit CHILLS from that. I've read a few theories that I can see happening and who the villain is etc.. Excited for the rest!
I am really finding this very underwhelming so far. It's not what I expected (although tbh I knew it would be a bit weird so not sure what I was expecting!) The sitcom parodies are very well done but it's an effort to get through at the moment. I am looking forward to when we start to find out a little more and hopefully the pace picks up.
80's and 90's sitcoms to go yet, but the darker moments are increasing. The Daydream Believer bit was fab. Everything you need to know is going on is in the "adverts", the songs, the backgrounds, the script....
setting up a lot of movies/TV...!
It’s so so good! Completely different to the rest of the MCU but I’m loving how careful it is being in unfolding the mystery behind it all. The last episode was particularly chilling in the final 5-10 minutes.
I wasn’t sure if each episode was going to be self-contained or not, which they are in a sense but I’m finding it impressive how natural the story still manages to follow through despite the different sitcom parodies for each episode.
Looking forward as to where it’s heading! I think it’s gonna be one that benefits from a rewatch once the series is over.
I’m loving it too! Extra appreciation to Elizabeth Olsen who is finally allowed to take center stage in an MCU project! We’re learning more about Scarlet Witch’s backstory and her character which is a very long time coming. She spent most of her time in AoU being a fairly one dimensional villain then demoted to “a weapon” in Civil War that the gov wanted to control... we saw a glimpse of her & Visions relationship in Infinity War but Thanos saw to the end of that. Idk I’ve just always felt she was very under-utilised in the MCU and thrown to one side so I’m really happy about WandaVision
I've read a few theories here and there, but do you guys think... Wanda is going to be set up as the main villain for the next Avengers movie? There's still a while away for that, but they can definitely plant seeds all over the place!
If anyone wants in-depth analysis of the shows and other shows, Emergency Awesome on youtube is great. The downside is a lot of plot twists might be revealed to you as he spotlights the stuff going on. Like the babies are a thing from the Comics, as are a number of plot threads, so you can see where things are going. So don;t watch if you want surprises!
Episode 4...
wow.
They're pacing this perfectly! Answering all the questions from the first 3 episodes and setting up and asking more for the last half of the season. Very pleased about Darcy making a return! Also, loved the reveal of where WV fits in the MCU timeline as well as having Monica Rambeau represent for Captain Marvel!
It's just fantastic stuff.
ngl I missed being in the Wanda world but maybe it was good to have a bit more ‘normality’ for this episode to help make the world seem more absurd and make it make more sense in narrative terms. Darcy returning was a major surprise, one of my favourite MCU side characters but not one I expected to return!!
Really loving this so far. The combination of all the characters old and new is amazing. Can't wait to see where the show goes in the next few episodes.

Cheeky little spoiler for an upcoming episode here - very excited!
I really enjoyed the latest episode. It was good to get some answers and to be back in the "proper" Marvel Universe again, with references to things we understand and some appearances from characters we know. I am looking forward to next week!
I don't like using spoiler tags - but I shall remove these on Monday when the Disney spoiler ban has lifted.
This episode... wow. I really think there is more to Agnes........ than what we are seeing. Is it possible that she is somehow controlling/using Wanda? A lot of people believing that the baddie for the series is Mephisto........ and it's hard to disagree! Monica Rambeau is fast becoming a fave of mine. She gave me one of my favourite quotes of the series "She could've taken out Thanos on her own if he hadn't initiated the blitz." and then her reaction to Jimmy's response about Captain Marvel being able to do the same (and name dropping her)
Powerful moment when Wanda confronts the entire SWORD team! SO TENSE and WONDERFULLY shot. Straight out of a movie scene! I really hope we see more proper scenes of how she created WestView/got Vision's body and not just through CCTV footage. But Vision becoming more aware and getting a little sus of her and the way Wanda tried to roll the credits on him lmao! Then... THE ENDING. I'm gutted it's not Aaron Taylor-Johnson, but I will take what I can get and I love the approach of him being "recast" to Evan Peters version. Which I assume is done on purpose with this being an 80's episode and Days of Future Past being set back then... so I still believe we're gonna see ATJ, somehow!
GAHHHHH! So exciting to see where everything is heading. Every week I just want more! So, SO good.
This is amazing. I’m more gripped by what’s gonna happen next than I was during any other MCU movie/project (bar Infinity War and Endgame, obviously). It’s just... wow. There’s so many thoughts going through my head especially with that reveal at the end! I’m so excited and anxious and worried for the next episode I just NEED to know what happens next
Am I the only person who thinks the Evan Peters involvement is just an Easter egg and there’s something bigger in the works for the characters in the X-Men universe? I mean if that universe’s Quicksilver is there then surely we’ll get Tye Sheridan as Scott Summers and the like in the future...?
Yes great episode. "Who's the popsicle?": a) knows he's dead? b) doesn't know who he is? c) Wanda thinks he's her brother Multiverse Implications and Wanda is being manipulated....
It's made clear Wanda can't bring things back to life, and Vision we know is still "dead" - but he's not biological life, so different rules presumably
Who's trying to kill Wanda right now with a drone.....? Why? Almost as if trying to antagonise her and send her over the edge into complete breakdown...
The latest episode was amazing, I am hooked on this show and I can't wait for the next episode.
I love that Darcy has got quite a big role in this too as I loved her in the Thor films but then she wasn't seen for ages so I'm glad she is back.
There's so much mysterious stuff going on I dunno what is going to happen next.
So they’ve already parodied Bewitched, Cheers, and now Malcolm In The Middle for the “TV show inside a TV show” trope
'Modern Family' will be for Episode 7 I think and that will bring us right up to date with the Sitcom stuff! But I'm expecting things to really blow up now. That ending... WOW. I've never hated end credits so much in my life tbh
lots of stuff getting revealed now!
Quicksilver is not real, he is dead, he's created by wanda for the "sitcom" and has no memories of the real Quicksilver
Monica Rambeau is going into the new expanded town - as she will change into a superhero, presumably, if her cells get exposed again to Wanda's energy.
Most townspeople are being held in zombie states, wanda doesn;t remember key stuff
Agnes doesn;t appear to be involved in the ongoing stuff - when Vision frees her mind she is genuinely distraught and confused.
Vision doesnt remember anything pre-Town and starts to fragment outside the town, so he is still dead and doesnt exist.
I caught up on this over the weekend- I am more of a casual Marvel fan than a diehard (I've only seen about half the movies) but this is great. I was a bit put off my the trailers when they dropped last year, but I actually really enjoyed the first couple of episodes where it was in full sitcom. It is honestly like watching a movie in the form of a TV show, although it does bug me where the episodes are 35 minutes long, but are more like 25 Even though I knew it was coming, it was fantastic to see Quicksilver return, although not sure this is evidence of the mutli-verse although it is a nice tease. And before I had even read anything, I totally thought that Monica is off to see Reed Richards and likely start the origins for the Fantastic Four.
I've never seen anything marvel but my friend told me to watch this for aesthetics alone and I kinda love it. such a great idea going through the decades and so nostalgic for eras I wasn't even born in.
Q tho.. if I ever wanna go back and watch all the films from the start, have I been given major spoilers like?
Holy shit
I-
Ok that was legit amazing. What an episode! It feels criminal to have to wait another week for the next episode.
I was so disinterested at the start of this season but now I'm HOOKED. Kathryn Hahn and Elizabeth Olsen are absolutely killing it. Kat Dennings and Paul Bettany are great too as always.
FYI there was a mid credits scene in E7 (the first one this season AFAIK).
On a somewhat unrelated note: can we get a Marvel character rate going? I've been on a Marvel binge lately and would love to see what we collectively think of all the mains.
omg that was one of the most campest endings I’ve seen
I absolutely love how they make each sitcom parody fit PERFECTLY with the ongoing storyline. The mockumentary format in particular was perfect to allow Wanda to reflect after last week’s ending.
yes, all great, and the bonus Munsters-styled sitcom at the end for Agnes was the topping reveal gem! So now we know Quicksilver is an Agatha Harkness creation as is the Hex and the manipulation of Wanda.
2 hopefully longer episodes to go as things escalate....
If any of you wanna start one in the Movies Forum, feel free.
I could start one but I can't guarantee I'd finish it
okay but can we just talk about how well the show parodied the opening theme reel for The Office like that was top notch
'Agatha All Along' is now on Spotify/streaming! *.*
Possible spoilers for the final two episodes:
Apparently there's another BIG character to be revealed in one of the final two episodes (Paul Bettany confirmed this earlier). Fans are predicting that it's gonna be Mephisto who's rumoured to be the main villain in Doctor Strange 2!
That episode was outstanding. That's how you do an origin story in just a single episode. Amazing stuff. Olsen and Hahn deserve every award possible.
Fab episode, all questions answered except how it ends and where Wanda gets her powers from. And Wanda's dad had excellent taste in US sitcoms....
This show is SO good.
It's really got me back into Marvel and Kathryn Hahn has been SUCH a good actor throughout. Elizabeth too, of course, but she's had less to do. The actors that play the agents have been really enjoyable too. Disappointed Emma Caulfield was only briefly in it!
this show is just incredible... i can't believe it took me liking the Agatha song to want to watch it!
I've been watching this pretty religiously this week to catch up to the finale release on Friday and I've enjoyed it! I do think the script sometimes is a bit 'Disney Channel original' in places, particularly the scenes outside of Westview where they're investigating etc. but overall I'm liking this! Particular props to Kathryn Hahn and Elisabeth Olsen who have both been fantastic!
I've also loved the attention to detail and styling's of each sitcom era and how they're incorporated into the storyline but doesn't feel shoe-horned in. Agatha All Along is a ridiculous camp bop as well It reminds me of 'The Name Game' from AHS where it's not necessary to the plot but it's so much fun and will ultimately helps fans fall in love with the show.
I've also been tempted to start watching the Marvel movies again thanks to this show as I've watched quite a few of them but have absolutely no idea about the overall plotline and how it all ties in. I know I've seen there's a 'chronological' order to watch them in rather than the release order. I was wondering if anyone knew what that was so I could make a start?
I’d personally always watch things in release order, at least the first time round anyway, as then you at least know you’re not expected to know certain information before going into things!
This series looks to have been an enormous hit! Last week’s episode was a great opportunity to finally get a proper origin story and put Wanda’s story into perspective. Excited for the finale, feel there’s going to be lots more surprises to come still, I need to stay off the internet on Friday!
Sweet! I'll do release order than as that'll be easier to keep track of. I have watched quite a few but it's been when friends have dragged me to the cinema for bits! Like I'm sure I've seen one of the Avengers films and kinda just accepted I wouldn't understand where these characters have cropped up from It's something I've wanted to get into but it's just a task to begin you don't feel like doing it! Suppose now is better time than ever!
Also hear hear for the upcoming finale! Episode 8 set up the last one very well imo!
I'm not ready for this to end on Friday
Last episode has been watched! I really enjoyed that series and felt quite easy to follow along! Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany and Kathryn Hahn were fantastic throughout Definitely felt like a Marvel film told over the TV series format which I really quite liked! Made the whole story and mystery much more manageable than a close to 3 hour epic. I'm impressed for the first Disney Plus Marvel series, but isn't there another 10 or something planned? That feels like overkill and surely would follow the rule of diminishing returns eventually?
I adore this show honestly It ended perfectly and the show was ultimately about Wanda dealing with her grief. I’m glad we got introduced to new heroes/villains that will no doubt have a future role in the MCU, Agatha & Monica in particular.
Even if any of the next shows are half as good as WandaVision I’d be happy tbh, brilliant storytelling. Falcon and the Winter Soldier looks great so far and has an entirely different theme and tone compared to this, with Loki once again looking completely different from the other first two shows. I think so long as each show is significantly different from the last it’ll be okay. I love the episodic storytelling and I think it works great for comic book superheroes, that’s partly why DCs tv universe has performed so much better than their film universe (among other reasons).
I really enjoyed it. I won't lie I was a little bit disappointed it didn't build the universe or tease a few other things but I can see why with the re-vamped Phase 4 they have gone with WandaVision first- it is a really nice standalone story which is contained and fleshes out a few characters too who we will undoubtedly see more of.
It was good, although I was disappointed they made Agatha an all-out villain.
(also...if the moral was that Wanda was wrong to imprison the people and change their memories, I'm not sure how I feel about the solve being to do the same to Agatha...)
this f***ing show omg
watched the entire season in 2 sittings
Excellent series, loved it throughout, great cast. Scarlet Witch is going to be mega-level hero/villain, based on the comics these are based on. Could go either way because of the final reveal: she's looking for ways to bring her family back and she is literally powered by chaos magic from other dimensions
The next series should be more playful action/adventure, and Loki will be a real complex follow-up on the themes of Wandavision that needs more than one series to resolve. It's a great way of getting basically 2 films-worth of product split-up without getting a bladder-buster feeling at the cinema - you get the space to tell a story without it being too long to sit through in one sitting.
For me it was a slightly underwhelming ending but its my own fault since I overhyped it with the 300 theories I had before the last episode lol. Overall an amazing show though
