There have been four terrorist attacks in Paris this evening. One was at the Stade de France where France were playing Germany in a friendly. Another attack is at the Bataclan concert venue, where it is reported that 100 people are being held hostage. I've been to several gigs there myself.
At least 26 people have died according to France 24 |

This is all over the news at the moment! There have been a series of co-ordinated shootings and explosions in Paris tonight.
All of this has happened on the same day that ISIS terrorist Jihadi John was reported to have been killed in a drone strike. |

Aah, this is big Awful news.
France have closed their borders and are in a state of emergency. They're really not having much luck this year. |

France 24 are also reporting that there has been an attack at Chatelet des Halles. That is a big shopping centre and a huge metro station. These reports remain unconfirmed at the moment.

Oh I see the topic I started has been merged with this. Thanks for that I guess?! Me and Suedehead2 must have clicked on "Post New Topic" at about the same time. Sky News is saying that the bomb that exploded near Stade De France was right outside the turnstiles of the stadium and this attack killed 3 people.

I had, at one time, some relatives from dad's side of the family in Paris, I hope they're okay. Condolences to the 60+ who've lost their lives, and to those who've been injured and are hostages.....

What makes this even scarier is that France are due to host the Euro 2016 tournament in the summer so terrorism could be a major problem for all tourists that will go there next year.

This is so horrible, even worse that there are people still being held hostage and that many deaths. Can't believe this is the second terrorist attack on Paris in a year as well.

This is really horrifying to read about. I am steering clear of social media as there are too many ill-informed ideas been thrown out there.

"Really not having much luck". Really? What a stupid thing to say. This is absolutist terrifying and heartbreaking to follow. Yeah, two attacks in one year. That's 'not much luck'. Look, it's awful that we've gotten desensitized to it but that's how it is. France have had two very high-profile attacks this year and it is awful and heartbreaking but there's not much else to say on that particular subject now. Yeah, I took the liberty of doing that, your first post had some good info that I didn't want to lose. |

There are reports that the siege at the Bataclan "is over". Without any details of what that means, it is impossible to say very much, I hope it means that everybody is now out of the venue.

Operation was successful, hostages being evacuated now and both attackers shot dead. Best coverage atm is on Sky News.. |

From what little bit I've just heard, the Paris police had a shootout with the terrorists holding the hostages, killing some of the terrorists....dunno how many of the hostages were harmed in the ensuing gun battle.... This is true, I normally only watch bits and pieces of the news but it's on days like this that I can watch it for hours on end and Sky News are giving constant new developments at the moment without taking any ad breaks. |

According to some the police stormed the building once the terrorosts started using explosives against the hostages. They killed 2 terrorists and detained 1, who claimed to be from ISIS. |
