Afternoon all!
This should be a busy thread when the album charts announced. Those figures for 'Hung Up' in 2005 as well. If that was released in a busy sales time woulda been like 250-350k! Forgotten hit of the week for me is McFly/Taio Cruz!! This post has been edited by Steve201: Nov 13 2020, 03:23 PM |

QUOTE 1- HUNG UP- Madonna (105,128) This was one of six song to sell more than 100k in a week in 2005. These were the others: Crazy Frog - 'Axel F' (149,466, 120,246) McFly - 'All About You' (164,995) Nizlopi - 'JCB Song' (159,815) Shayne Ward - 'That's My Goal' (742,180) Tony Christie & Peter Kay - 'Amarillo' (266,844, 261,031, 130,700) Two charity records, two songs fighting for Christmas #1 and a huge novelty hit. Kind of makes it even more impressive that a 'normal' release sold 100k+ too. Celebrate 15 years of 'Hung Up' here: http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=239348 |

Celebrate 15 years of 'Hung Up' here: http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=239348 Yeh its the most impressive as it was a normal pop song while the Nizlopi and Ward tracks were huge due to XF being at its peak and physicals being still huge in December. Tony Christie and McFly are impressive too as not all charity records are as big. And Crazy Frog is just Crazy frog, |

I actually do know and like the Kandi song thanks to Kisstory (initially didn't recognise it!) so I've belatedly swapped that in, 2000 a little better than I thought
Yeh 'The Flood' is one of my favourite take That songs. Bounced around the top 10 a lot based on promo during that November if I remember rightly. Great taste! I think only 'Patience' beats it for me. |
