We may not be getting this album then, apparently that was only a rumour.
Plans to release a posthumous Avicii album are "just rumours", a representative for the late DJ and producer has said.
In a statement, Diana Baron, who represented Avicii — whose real name was Tim Bergling — said that reports had come about due to a mistranslation by English-language outlets of a Swedish news report by Aftonbladet.
"Tim had been working on new material and had posted 9ishphotos and Instagram stories about his sessions this year," she said. "As of this moment, these stories about a scheduled release are just rumours coming from hopeful fans who loved Tim and his music."
According to Billboard, some of this confusion may have also arisen due to an interview that Neil Jacobson, Avicii's A&R at Geffen Records, gave to Variety in which he said that the album that the late-producer and DJ was working on before his untimely death was "his best music in years".
Avicii passed away on 20 April. His body was found in a hotel room in Oman. He was 28 years old. In a statement to Billboard, his family announced that his funeral would be private.
During his life, Avicii scored twelve UK Top 40s on the Official Singles Chart, picking up his first Official Singles Chart Number 1 I Could Be The One (with Nicky Romero) in February 2013, before embarking on his hugely successful album campaign for True, which reached Number 2 on the Official Albums Chart in November 2013. The album spawned the Number 1 million-selling single Wake Me Up, and the Top 5 hits Hey Brother and You Make Me.
After taking a break from touring and recording music, Avicii released the Avici EP in late 2017. The final single in his lifetime was Lonely Together ft. Rita Ora, which reached Number 4.

Apparently unreleased single 'Heaven' will be released soon.
A demo featuring Chris Martin appeared a few years ago, I would be happy to see his vocals return on the released version.

He had finished recording the album but they have spent the last year doing the final mixing.

The New York Times article implies that Avicii's team wanted to keep everything if Avicii was going to release the album, so it makes me think that the vocalists are the ones who worked with him in the songs and they didn't want to replace them with most well-known singers to sell this project. I could be wrong though.

There will be 12 tracks on the album (unless there's going to be a deluxe edition of course). "SOS" is track #3 and "Tough Love" is track #4. The others are still TBA, while track #6, #7 and #9 are listed as explicit in the iTunes pre-order. The LP is being sold on his official store.

Slightly disappointing that we are only getting 12 after 16 were teased, though it was implied that not all 16 were going to be used.
And Heart Upon My Sleeve as an instrumental we already heard back in 2013 on the True album! Hopefully they’re going to change it a bit for this version aside from just putting on the Dan Reynolds vocal which got leaked years ago anyway.
And who’s this Joe Janiak that’s getting 3 songs? Was also hoping we’d get some of the Sandro Cavazza songs so shame to not see those on the tracklist.
Still really excited for this album anyhow! I’m just glad we are at least getting one.

The official tracklist has been revealed on Billboard.
It's basically the same as the previous one, with the following differences: Chris Martin nor Coldplay aren't credited on "Heaven", but the former indeed wrote the song with Tim, "Ain't a Thing" and "Freak" feature Bonn, "Never Leave Me" features Joe Janiak and "Fades Away" features Noonie Bao.

Maybe, he doesn't like to be credited as a solo artist? I'm not sure about this, but an example of this could be "Homesick", where he has prominent backing vocals and he could have been easily featured on it. Also, Dua and Chris are labelmates.

Tomorrow is a national holiday in Sweden so I think that’s why (it’ll be out at 11am there) and I suppose they want to have it out at the same time worldwide.

Love it! Tough to rate based on a first listen, and I get the feeling these tracks will be growers particularly as they're quite different to his old stuff. He definitely seemed to be more focused on the songwriting rather than making big drops recently but it's a direction I can get behind, he had a talent for it unmatched by any other EDM producer. Initial standouts for me other than the singles are 'Peace of Mind' and 'Fades Away', great choices to start and end the album. 'Bad Reputation' too, and basically the whole album (though this new version of 'Heart Upon My Sleeve' is going to take some getting used to after being familiar with the instrumental version for years).
So so good to finally have 'Heaven' released properly too. That song really is perfection.

Great album on first listen. I don't think Tough Love is weak at all, in fact it's my favourite Avicii single since 2013 probably!
But the rest of the album is of a really high standard too. Really liking Heaven, Freak and Excuse Me Sir on first listen and Fades Away is a really effective closer with some lovely melodies, and it's good to hear Noonie and Avicii together again.

A re-recorded version of 'Fades Away' with vocals by MishCatt is out today.
Must say myself the Noonie Bao version is easily better.
It is to tie in with the Tribute Concert, which will air tonight on YouTube at 8PM UK time.
The concert will feature live performances of Avicii songs from the following: Rita Ora Adam Lambert Alex Ebert Aloe Blacc Amanda Wilson Andreas Moe Audra Mae Bonn Dan Tyminski Joe Janiak Nick Furlong Sandro Cavazza Simon Aldred Vargas & Lagola Zak Abel
