Lawson have confirmed on twitter that their new single will be called 'Money' the track is set to premier next week and the music video was filmed yesterday.
I am still unsure if 'Roads' will be included on the album seeing as it was featured on the 'Lawson - EP' so for now we will call this the second single.
so will this be a straight up release or will it be given an official release date?
I tottaly love the tracks on Lawson - EP. It took me while to came in, but I eventually did.
Curious for Money.
The little clip of this sound amazing, but then I've yet to hear a song by them I didn't love.
Great, can't wait. Roads was more like a b side than single material.
I loved Roads but I couldn't get into the rest of the Lawson EP. If this is as good as Roads I'll be happy. I'm intrigued by the title!
Very excited to hear this. Hoping that it samples The O'Jays 'Money' as that would just be heavenly.
Will be on spotify tonight, I am not sure if it has already premiered on radio or not
Lots of diamond rings, the happiness it brings, you live like a king ... kaching!
It premieres on radio about half an hour before it is up to stream.

Quite enjoying it on first listen
Mucho love *.*
Sounding distinctively Lawson, really nice track
But tut tut about the disgraceful expletive
Being hammered by Heart and Capital already.
Odd that it's on Spotify already but is held back on iTunes/officially until the 18th of March.
Will be released 18th March
It's a big improvement on 'Roads'.
A bti of a wait but worthwhile, build up streams and airplay.
Gonna need to hunt a good quality mp3 though
I like the single artwork. Glad they're back to actually being on the cover of it again!
The actual song is good - will take a few more plays before I'm feeling it properly mind. Capital and Heart have already been playing it so that's a start.
After a few plays I'm not into it. I hope it grows.
Atrocious on first listen.
Their first album was brilliant! I don't know what's happened to them
This is like, the best thing they've ever done.
^ That song really should have been a single, it's probably their best for me too.
I like it
Andy *.* hunky bae.
Simple video but I like it. I also echo all the love for Parachute.
Simple video but it works. 'Juliet' is still their best (and weirdest) video for me! This has grown on me a bit more now as well
this has grown on me so much from the first listen, those reggae beats are so funky very catchy. Shame it's not going to do much
Any news about a physical release for money yet?
3 CDs ! I've never bought a single that has 3 CD formats before. Interesting tactic. Their previous singles only had 1 CD (and a few had a Vinyl too).
Disappointing track list. No new B sides. Those remixes aren't great. This will be their first release I may not get.
Lawson have lost all momentum, The debut album was SO good but then it all went a bit wrong with random releases and half hearted efforts.
Money has been available to stream for a month and has made no impact and there seems to be zero buzz about the track apart from Capital spamming it. I'm not convinced this will go Top 40, They have a fan bundle (3 X CDs plus download) but even if they sell 500 that's 'only' 2,000 sales. They are going to release multiple versions for download but streaming will counteract those. They had so much potential
TBF I can understand why there was such a gap between 'Juliet' and 'Roads' coming out because Andy wasn't very well for a good six months (mentioned in the topic for the latter as to the cause of his illness).
But the truth is their fans don't stream, and until they do Polydor will keep truncating their releases, or, and I hate to say cause I've always thought highly of them - be dropped.
Lawson will struggle this era due to the impact of streaming. I like money and roads but the new songs don't seem quite as strong as their earlier singles and perhaps not quite as radio friendly.
Money is their weakest single to date.
Taking Over Me says hi slag.
I think it's time for Andy to shed clothing again, this time sans guitar.

Taking Over Me is their best single. #donttrustRegina #donttrusthotchoc
Taking Over Me is indeed their best - and by a clear mile.
They chat and perform 'Money' on Lorraine tomorrow morning...
My bundle came today *.* omg the signed single. I have Andy's DNA.
Looks like this will flop. Not even top50 on iTunes.
My signed bundle arrived today. I hate to say it but I think Polydor will drop them now. It's not that 'Money' isn't a good song, it's just it's far from their best (hello 'Juliet' and 'Taking Over Me') and at this stage of their career where it's been nearly a year since their last single which itself missed top 10 they needed something big to announce that they still meant business.
This coupled with a fanbase that doesn't use Spotify and the like is curtains. And I feel bad because having seen them live and interviewed them before as they are a nice group of lads, really talented and down to earth. But the music they're in, pop music, is a fickle beast and you're only as good as your last chart position. They would do well to be on their own label or doing crowd funded releases going forward because being on a major label is only holding them back, they have enough of a fanbase to release their new material and tour that way and they'd be a lot happier.
Seems like this release hasn't even clicked with their core fanbase - Dowm to #89 on iTunes now, part of me would prefer this to miss the Top 75 so everyone can claim it was a promotional single (As the Girls Aloud fans still claim ) than it become a #66 smash.
I really think Polydor will drop them after this - The last single and EP bombed and now with Money flopping hard I doubt they would want to invest in an album release that will have a chart run of 11-out and 3k sales.
I think being on a major label helped them on their first album - largely because The Wanted were still active when their first few singles came out and by proxy they were always associated with them (largely because Andy and Max George were both in Avenue) which helped them gain traction.
It's always unpleasant when you see good bands encounter difficult second album syndrome with no possible hope of recovery to their earlier success. But maybe in a way this needs to happen to them so they can be the band that they're meant to be.
^^ I agree, Lawson are totally the kind of band that could release a fan funded album and earn their money from touring which has always been their strong point. For some reason even though they are a boy band they don't seem to have a traditional boy band fanbase which could work to their advantage in the long run.
1. Standing In The Dark
2. Learn To Love Again
3. Taking Over Me
4. When She Was Mine
5. Money
6. Juliet
7. Roads
8. Brokenhearted
Anyway, I expected this to struggle to make the top 40, but I didn't think it would do anywhere near as bad as it is doing! It could miss top 100 at this rate!
I totally forgot about 'Brokenhearted's existence!
I did used to like that but I don't think I've heard it since 2013, I think 'Juliet' just eclipsed it for me that much.
Well what idiot planned signings during a time when most of their fanbase would be in school/college?
So I've just looked, and 'Money' is nowhere to be seen on today's Top 100 midweeks... Oops.
That seems odd, in fact it's not in the Top 200.... and I'd have thought with its short time in the iTunes Top 100 & the physicals that it would at least be within the Top 200! Have they possibly done an Alesha Dixon and requested it be ineligible?
I guess it's possible they could have not sold enough for Top 100? We have no idea how many bundles have been sold but judging by this its next to nothing added to the fact it's done nothing on streaming and didn't make the iTunes Top 50. Not sure what's gone so wrong - Bit of a jump from never having a song miss the Top 15 to totally missing the Top 100!
It's not even within the Top 200, let alone the Top 100, and I'm really not sure how likely it is that they've genuinely missed the Top 200 in the Monday midweeks. Unless they've flopped hard with the physical releases too and barely sold any (there's 3 CDs!).
I don't think this would have legitimately missed the top 200 in the first midweek, there will be another factor at play here.
The rest of their signings tour has been cancelled 'due to unforeseen circumstances'. They did HMV Leeds today and only 40 turned up This is actually really horrible to have to see, I must say. More so when you know the inevitable is going to happen next.
Things don't look good. I'll be surprised if they release their 2nd album now.
The HMV signings are supposedly going to be rescheduled when the album comes out, according to what one of the members said in a reply to a fan on Twitter.
Somehow, I just can't see that happening...
I think they will have another single out first before the album (if it comes out). Remember this is their first single which has not charted so they can turn things around yet if they pick a strong radio friendly track.
None of the EP charted either, if you exlude Roads.
It's sad to see how things have turned out, but a lot of blame can be placed at Polydor who seem to have just given up on them. Best thing is to just chuck the album, if it's done, and move on quickly to another label etc.
The band are tweeting lots of fans as mentioned above saying things like 'We wish we could tell you what's happening but it's nothing bad and very exciting' etc., they are also saying the album will be out soon! Makes me wonder if they haven't already parted with Polydor and somehow have the rights to self release the album?
Roads only spent 3 weeks in the Top 75 and with this mysteriously missing the Top 200 I kind of hope Polydor have dropped them and allow them to continue quickly rather than them being tied to a deal and getting no releases.
Missed the top 100 But it also missed the http://www.officialcharts.com/charts/singles-sales-chart/ which can't be true surely?
It's such a shame as it's a good song but not entirely unexpected as they just left it too long after Roads.
I'm convinced it was made ineligible to chart. It's not in the physicals Top 100 chart either.
I bet they didn't make very much MONEY with this
