Watched The Austere Academy and The Ersatz Elevator and part uno of The Vile Village so far!!

SO good to have all these books adapted! I genuinely this is one of (if not the) the best book adaptations I’ve seen. It continues to stay very loyal to the books whilst expanding on the mythology which is certainly what I’ve been waiting for all these years!!

The Ersatz Elevator has been my favourite set of episodes so far, I think they played on the whole Esme in/out thing brilliantly, I loved how they got a limousine for two houses down and then to go from the Herring to Cafe Salmonella laugh.gif

Carmelita was a great actress too, she played such an intense character brilliantly and Principal Nero was PERFECT too.

I was a bit worried about Lucy Punch basically playing the same character from Motherland but her role as the policewoman in the Vile Villagehas convinced me otherwise!

Very interesting to see Olivia Caliban appear so early, I wonder how they’ll tie it in considering she is meant to own the carnival, I see from The Vile Village that she is being sent there so very intrigued to see how it plays out!!

i can’t get over how much this has not disappointed and even exceeded my very very high expectations considering my huge love for the books

The second season was much better now that we're into books that weren't adapted into the Jim Carrey film as most of season one was just a poor rehash of the film for me. The Lemony Snicket character has THANKFULLY been massively toned down in how much it appears, the absolute worst element of season one.

Overall much much improved on season one and I'm now properly looking forward to the ending!

So I’ve finished it and on the whole the series was a real improvement on the first. The second, fourth and fifth instalments were my favourites and I’m really looking forward to the next series now. I knew it was coming but sad.gif none the less.

I thought I'd like this more than I did tbh. sad.gif

I mean the aesthetic is right up my street, it's like Pushing Daisies with all the colour drained and I love how quirky the CGI is. laugh.gif

But my god it's depressing; I feel like every inch of happiness is sucked from my body every time I watch it.

That’s part of its charm! tongue.gif

I’ve finished this now: I really really loved watching it and was addicted for a little while but now I’ve finished S2 I have kinda forgotten about it. I’ll definitely watch next season but it hasn’t left as much of an impact as I thought it would.

I love Count Olaf a bit too much, my NPH stanning in full effect wub.gif I had to pause and rewind for the How I Met Your Mother gag in the carnival laugh.gif This show has reignited my love for HIMYM, so at least that’s good tongue.gif

I’ve only just got around to watching the second season, with books 5 and 6 ticked off so far, and now the final season has been given a January 1st release date! biggrin.gif It will consist of seven episodes with “The End” being one, longer episode.
