Oops, no Blonde or Gorgon City.
Especially Blonde, I thought R1 would lap that up from the moment it dropped. |

A whole bunch of hot premieres ...wowzers. I like the new Avicii track; also 'Oh Wonder' reminds me of Ellie Goulding's stuff; that Bieber song is okay; Rudimental... well, i knew a better track with Will Heard (fell in love so bad with 'Rumour Mill'); can't wait for the release of Macklemore's track. Others didn't impress me much.
But there are a lot of tracks failing in the chart... Example, Silento, and what the shit is going on with Jamie xx? p.s. please, tell me what does OA\OS mean? You guys always use it when it comes to releases. |

They hardly gave that Jamie xx song much chance did they? I would have seen that being quite a hit by his standards if it'd made it to the B/A list.
Great to see Carly move up. I can see big climbs for her next week. Yes and Lana being playlisted <3 |

Some quite unexpected additions this week! Didn't realise the Avicii single was that imminent, or even that Macklemore had a new single out. Very surprised to see no Natalie La Rose or Prides, and disappointed they haven't added Gorgon City, although hopefully they will next week. I'm kinda intrigued to hear Bieber's new single!
Poor brave Example |

It's good to see Radio 1 playlisting the On Air/On Sale releases much quicker now, although it still seems they are being slow when it comes to the dance On Air/On Sale releases as I'd have expected them to have supported both Blonde and Watermat if they had been held back.

Even though dance songs have started being released OA/OS, they'll still have an 'impact date' for the radio stations and streaming. I'd be surprised if Blonde or Gorgon City (or Nelly for that matter) would have UK impact for the week they dropped. More likely be around the end of September/start of October.
Shame Jamie xx is gone already. Pleased for Rudimental even though its nowhere near their best. Intrigued to hear new Macklemore, be shocked if they were as ubiquitous as throughout 2013! |
