I visited HMV Bristol City Centre today - there was a small section with Madge's current album £4,99 and her last album £2,99.
I did pick up Toni Braxton's latest "Sex and Cigarettes" for £2,99 also "Colours" by Walking on Cars also for the same price. I also got "Mamma Mia" soundtrack for the recent movie for £2.99 as well!! I am not sure whether upstairs had any sales on, as I was with my sister, Mum and two kids under 6! Bromley HMV has a decent CD and vinyl price crash selection if anyone is in London (it’s 15 minutes by train from Victoria).
Loads of recent vinyl at £9.99 and lots of cheap CDs - I got a compilation called Girl Power for £2.99. Loads I didn’t get as I already bought at full price only a few months ago like Madonna, Robyn and Carly Rae Jepsen. This post has been edited by gooddelta: 29th October 2019, 08:06 AM |

HMV have matched all of Amazon’s sale prices - just wish they would promote the fact their website is up and running again and not constantly go after Amazon and just run an amazing end of year sale to blow them out the water tbh #SupportHMV

Is 12.99 generally the cheapest anvinyl will go for? When you think, they're really missing a trick. If they were a bit cheaper I bet they'd sell more. I mean how many are people going to buy when I see some at well over £20. Are they really that much more than CD's to press? |

When you think, they're really missing a trick. If they were a bit cheaper I bet they'd sell more. I mean how many are people going to buy when I see some at well over £20. The premium price is down to supply and demand I think. There's only a limited amount of pressing plants in Europe that can do vinyl and many of them are working at full capacity. So the manufacturers can charge more. Plus the vinyl these days is of much better quality than it was when you and I would have bought albums. I remember buying some of those K-Tel albums where the vinyl was so thin it would almost wobble! Now they vinyl is of much higher quality. Plus of course, as vinyl is more of niche product there's a significant mark-up on the price at all points of the manufacturing, distribution and retailing chain. Are they really that much more than CD's to press? |

HMV still have their vinyl/CD sale going on - I picked up a lot of Vinyl for between £8-15 including some special additions etc.,
They restocked quite a lot yesterday and have Spice Girls back in stock for £9.99 and Taylor Swift coloured double vinyl for £16. https://store.hmv.com/store/hmv-offers/viny...1&view=grid |

No bargains! I have a question.
I normally used Google Music to buy download albums but it has obviously now gone! Apart from the obvious I-Tunes and Amazon what other digital stores are around? |

7Digital is still going (they don't update their front page much but new releases are still being added) and obviously there's Bandcamp for a lot of indie stuff.

I'd forgotten about 7Digital - used to use them years ago! Just checked and I still have the account though the stuff I had downloaded back in the day is no longer available to download as the tracks have been removed from the site. |
