We've heard absolutely nothing from Azerbaijan, apart from their confirmed participation back in September. However as we are now in December, it would lead you to think that the artist selection via Milli Seçim Turu that was used in 2011, 2012 and 2014 (and possibly 2010 and other years but I wasn't paying enough attention back then) will not be happening as that would have started by now.

So it's either going to be an internal selection for the second year running, or a national final in the style of 2013 where Farid Mammadov was selected. That national final was a right mess I believe, so I'd definitely favour the former option!

Turns out it isn't, and it will in fact be the finalist from The Voice of Azerbaijan Samra with 'Miracle', rumoured to be composed by the team behind 'Drip Drop', 'Running Scared', 'When The Music Dies' and 'Hour of the Wolf'. We shall wait and see, according to Eurovision.tv we will hear it this weekend instead of on Monday as originally announced.

Needed a few listens to click with me, similar to how 'Heart Shaped Hole' did funnily enough! I don't think it's a winner, I'm not convinced Samra will pull it off vocally and won't have an Ell to take the heat off her (although will probably have plenty of Swedish backing vocals so all hope is not lost). Should be safely qualifying and contending for top 10 (although I feel like I've said that for about 20 songs now)!

Oh, I knew it wouldn't take long for the desperate, hit-clenching Azerbaijan to come back. But this year could certainly use that. I'll call top 5, can't quite see it as a winner but it should be challenging.

Excuse me but Azerbaijan has taken a big risk by deciding to go with a different Swedish team to any they've used previously! ohmy.gif

Oh my god this is SO good. It could easily be a Melfest contender by Molly Sanden or Lisa Ajax.

Queen of Melodifestivalen Molly Pettersson Hammar continues her take-over of Eurovision as it has been revealed that Miracle was originally submitted by Molly, alongside Hunger, to be her entry in Melodifestivalen this year. Of course Miracle was rejected in favour of Hunger, and now it is Samra's!
