glad this is getting pushed!
I'm kinda surprised they took off Coldplay after just 7 weeks, usually they rinse a well-performing Coldplay single to death! Also I wasn't aware 'Like I Would' was a proper single, I thought it was just another promo track like 'It's You'.
I guess they're snubbing the Galantis single then?
good to see the Years & Years re-release getting supported, not that I doubted it. Tove Lo improves the song for me.
not much else of interest tho :/ at least The Chainsmokers, Mike Posner, Tinie Tempah, Fifth Harmony and Sia are moving upwards
surprised at the Zayn song being the single!!! that's the biggest surprise on that list
Shocked to see Mystery Jets tbh I love it tho
Great Playlist all round apart from ZAYN oops
Love that Aurora song! So much better than her Oasis cover.
wow at selena being a listed
Very happy Ariana has been playlisted so quickly.
Sad to see Tiggs Da Author off though.
hurrah for the additions of chase & status and years & years ~ pleasing to see mike posner/seeb and the chainsmokers making light of climbing up the tiers~
otherwise it's a rather humdrum week for adds
Does Shawn Mendes 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' have an impact date? .. As its just outside the top 40 iTunes i was hoping it may have had a chance of being added.
Ariana and Aurora
Dangerous Woman & Desire
I'm quite surprised Mystery Jets can still garner support. Not the most interesting selection of additions though.

NEW MUSIC FRIDAY ARRIVES IN BLIGHTY
Radio 1 & 1Xtra Head of Music Chris Price has revealed that, from here on out, every Friday will be New Music Friday in an attempt to "recognise the industry's new global release day, as well as to satisfy what we think is our listeners' growing impatience to hear new music in an onair/on-sale world."
Price also explained that they're rearranging their programming cycle so that it's in sync with the chart week. Thusly, they’ll refresh station playlists on Friday mornings—as opposed to Mondays—the Radio 1 playlist meeting will move from Monday to Tuesday afternoon and they’ll publish the new playlist every Tuesday at 5pm, while the 1Xtra playlist will move to Wednesday.
Read his full statement below.
that sounds like good news! I guess that means songs will be playlisted quicker instead of R1 pointlessly waiting until the initial hype of a song has died down.
Exactly several days ago I was wondering why they didn't move the playlist updates. And now here they are.
ZAYN and Yungen!!
When will the new 1Xtra playlist be published now?
Good to see Years and Years and Jake Bugg playlisted plus loving the new ZAYN track at the moment too
Wow fantastic update with the Brillant new track from the Mystery Jets earning them their first playlisting in around 6-8 years I think. The opening single didn't even get playlisted but it did get spot plays by Greg James who must have bigged it up in the meeting today. Also good NEs from Jake Bugg, Panic! & glad to see they've decided to support that great new track from Aurora! Heard her perform it on Andrew Marr on Sunday and it sounded great.
Pity Flume, Anne-Marie and Dua Lipa look like their stuck in the B list!
About time they moved the playlist to come into effect on release day! It doesn't necessaily mean they'll playlist songs any quicker though, I hope it does but I imagine they'll still want to go by impact dates.
I'm living in hope they can if they're placing so much emphasis on doing it for new music Friday and to play new music sooner.
Yeah, I mean they've playlisted Dangerous Woman - that's a start right?
The way the articles written it suggests they may be thinking of changing the way songs are taken on board by not adding songs so late - eg something I've been saying for months is that they should add big on air releases straight into the A list eg the new Tinie one - it's pointless C listing that why not just A list it?
I assume this change comes in due to the new manager radio 1 have got now?
