A new Rihanna song/single is coming soon. Sledgehammer is apparently a song that will be used for the upcoming movie/series/WHATEVER Star Trek Beyond.
2016 is an amazing year for Rihanna fans so far |

Apparently written by Sia so it must be a future hit!

Oh my. Star Trek has never had a major popstar doing a single for it so I can't imagine how this will sound. If it's Sia-written something along the lines of Diamonds would feel appropriate.
(two of my worlds that I never thought would collide) |

Just heard this, it's very Sia and very good! Surprised no one else has commented on it yet.

Ehhh I'm not keen. Easily my least favourite of everything she's released this year.
Just such a standard Sia by numbers track, don't get why it's not just Sia doing it as it's so obviously penned by her and Rihanna does the whole vocal-mimicking thing! I guess there's a Sia sings on pretty much every soundtrack these days though ha :') |

Sounds quite obviously like a cast off from either Rihanna or Sia's album, that has just been bought by Star Trek, it's okay. Forgettable.

Honestly I am into the Sia sound these days much more than I am into Rihanna's urban sound so this is sounding pretty great for me. Not the best but it's pretty cool (and I'll probably play it more than most of Anti over time).

it is a bit odd that Sia didn't just sing this herself, it really sounds like a Sia song even the way Rihanna is singing it.
It's not something I can see being a big hit anyway but it's okay for a soundtrack song. |

If you didn't tell me it was Rihanna on the track and just played it, I'd definitely have thought it was Sia singing it. In fact, everything about it is so Sia, right down to her signature move of basing a song around a one worded noun (I read somewhere that that's usually her starting point, I think when she was talking through either 'Diamonds' or Britney's 'Perfume'). I agree with Iz that I'm really into anything Sia touches, so I can tell I'm going to really like this. The intro has vibes of 'One Million Bullets' and the chorus is so grand; I think Rihanna really pulls it off well.
Could we have a Sia/Rihanna collaborative album please? |

I agree, Sia may as well have just sang it herself. Rihanna has sang it exactly how the demo will have sounded.
That said, I do like it. It's not as big as some other Sia ballads. It feels epic because of the long notes and the production. I feel it's lacking something. |

Sounds just like Sia to me! Did they accidentally release the demo?
