I wish I could get properly into the Sims given how popular it is. I tend to end up making a writer or something and then speed through their lives, occasionally snagging an AI for a relationship and ultimately I get bored way before I get to make a family and go through generations which would be quite interesting if there wasn't the daily minutia like making food to do.

I played the one with the hotel for a while but then it crashed once I'd put the spy/mouse suit on so I couldn't play it I also played Castaway for quite a while, and Pets for a very short while.

I've been considering buying The Sims 4 now that it's available on PS4, does anyone have it/know if it's worth it?
I really got into the original game on PS2 (using cheats to unlock everything/get unlimited money to be able to build massive dream houses ) and the 'Castaway' spin-off that they did. I had the 'Apartment Pets' game on Nintendo DS but didn't think it was as good on handheld. |

Yeah same I'm hoping to get it on PS4 now it's out and I've got student loan so can actually afford it I heard about a bug with saving that put people off on release, but I'd have thought that'd be fixed now.

Don't play the Sims but The Sims Medieval looks interesting. I am more into historical games so that would probably appeal more to me!

This is my current household in Sims 4. Thought I would sure it with Buzzjack because why not eh. The guy in the red shirt is one of my favorite sims I've ever created. Him and his boyfriend (yes I had to make him gay ) are so fun. I should back to it sometime oops. |

I haven't played this since getting a Mac as it doesn't have a disc drive.
I always have more fun building the house than actually living in it (I'd often spend weeks making my own house and then giving up 5 minutes into making my family ). After starting Friends on Netflix I've found quite a few people have replicated Monica/Rachel's flat; it's amazing to see how detailed some players are and how much patience they have when creating the buildings. |

You can use an external disk drive with the Mac! Neither my MacBook or my iMac have a disk drive so I have a USB disk drive for use with them

I've never actually thought about using one tbh, most of the stuff I kinda needed when I switched I could find drives and stuff online to download. Just with the Sims 3 it felt like a waste because it was PC/Mac compatible! |

I'm always fascinated by people who make exact replicas of things, I can't imagine the time it must take! I'm the opposite, I'll spend ages making my actual Sim look either nice or f*** them up and make them really weird and disproportionate but then I cba to make a nice house

No matter where you store your sims files I recommend saving it to a back up hard drive anyway.

I don’t play much anymore but I loved this back in the day!
Me and my sister were obsessed with the original game when we were 13/14 and had all the expansion packs. We used to allocate one house to keep placing families in and then kill them all off. We had like a mass graveyard in the end. We were very normal people, not unhinged at all. |

I love the sims! Used to play it all the time back in the day
I currently have the sims 2 collection downloaded on my Macbook, which I sometimes play on to beat the boredom, but I wish I could play on the newer games. I don't think my macbook could take it though The sims 4 looks awesome. |

Somehow I couldn't get past the original Sims 2. Some of the addons and the later stuff seemed overly complicated with so much new stuff to explore. I felt ill at ease in that updated environment and just gave up the whole thing. Though simming some crazy family trees with tragic death and families with unhealthy relationships and crazy twists was quite fun. I could spend days on end in front of the monitor. I tried it again a couple of years ago and it was quite fun, but lasted for a day or so
