'Rhythm Inside' was the best song of Eurovision 2015 and this is also brilliant. He has a fabulous, emotive voice and the production is very slick.
Male Sia is a good shout! |

Heard this a couple of days ago, it really is very good! I think if he wasn't Belgian (and was American or British) then he would be hitting charts globally as he definitely is the male Sia, but unfortunately no-one will pay attention to someone who didn't even win The Voice of Belgium. If he'd won Eurovision and released this straight afterwards then perhaps he could've forged out a European-wide career like Loreen could've done if she hadn't given up after like two singles, but I think he's left it too late.
Could you pop this over to the Eurovision forum as well please! |

No it isn't that!
It was agreed a couple of years ago that all topics by Eurovision/Melodifestivalen artists (except those with fanbases dating back to before their Eurovision appearance - Dami Im etc) would go into the Eurovision forum! For example The Common Linnets always have their topics in Eurovision, so has Frans or Serebro etc. |

I disagree with this arrangement. He is a pop artist. People come into this forum for the national finals and the contest itself, not for songs by artists from 2 years ago

It's something that can be re-discussed for sure in the mod forums, I was originally of the same viewpoint as you (you can see this in the Genre Mod Lounge somewhere) but was overruled by the majority. However over time I have been convinced that it was the right decision as, using recent examples, I doubt Mans or The Common Linnets would've achieved more than 13 posts in the fast-moving pop forum.

I agree with Tim though, if I come into the ESC forum, I want details on the ESC. Not an artist who came 19th in 2006 releasing a new single

So if ABBA released a new collection, would they not be in the pop forum?

I think ABBA would be a special case, they have had a massive career which Eurovision was a tiny element of whereas 99% of Eurovision artists now will peak their careers at Eurovision attention-wise. See t.A.T.u also!
There's a notice about this in the Pop Forum's Notice thread, so that explains it better than I can now as it was a couple of years ago when all the Genre Mods and Eurovision Mods agreed to it: http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?s...t&p=4968436 If the new Pop mods want to re-discuss that's fair enough, everyone has different opinions - I'm not trying to steamroll you into doing something, just going by what the most recent directive regarding these threads are! |

He has such a predictable aesthetic/performance style that it kind of ruins him for me. I like his music a lot, and like him a lot because he expresses himself in an industry where it's not easy for men to do so, but then I see his self-expression and I just think "keep it" because it's so redundant. You guys say he's the male Sia and I wonder why that's necessary when female Sia is doing her job perfectly fine.
I really hope he gets a chance to mature as an artist because I want to like him a lot more than I do but he's just so lacking in depth at this point. |

Metro have named Loic as one of the male artists "that will rule 2017" [in the UK]!
