Some great stuff here. Rent is one of the best songs of the 80s for me. People say they were too arch but Rent is honest and sincere. They had a great way of finding beauty in less than ideal relationships.

Pet Shop Boys can do, literally, anything musically if they want to. Even obscure tracks like the gorgeous Footsteps can reduce me to tears with their loveliness. I worship (not literally) at their feet

PS no more votes for The Reynolds Girls, please! It was on the radio when a young rep crashed into me at 80mph on the M5, and I associate it with crunching sounds, sprayed glass and careering round and round. I saw the timelessly brilliant Fleetwood Mac live on Wednesday, and frankly I'd Rather Fleetwood Mac. I never want to hear I'd Rather Jack ever again. Ever!
