One of Madonna's best song turns 22 today! What are your thoughts on the track now? Were you a fan? Are you still a fan? |

This was the first Madonna song I remember loving. It's aged so beautifully too! One of the earliest memories I have of really adniring how the song sounds sonically. Just spine-tingling and stunning.

A song what was ahead of its time and still something what could be a hit now tbh if a younger artists released it.
I love it! I just wish I was like my age now when this was released because I can imagine the shock and surprise at this being Madonna. It’s a song what shows her vocals off too. Definitely amongst her best singles and videos. |

It's up there with one of my favourites. I agree with Jordan that I'd have loved to have been able to witness its release the first time around. The strings really are spine-tingling, evoking something both melancholy and slightly sinister, then you have that beautiful, delicate vocal juxtaposing with the production. It's Madonna's biggest reinvention for sure and I'd love to see this more appreciated by general audiences today, particularly with artists like Billie Eilish being so greatly received.

I feel honoured to be the same age as this masterpiece *.* definitely Madonna's best for me! A rich vocal performance coupled with hypnotic, icy beats

Really like frozen, i had really gone of Madonna for a good years few prior to the release of Frozen but the ray of light album got me back into her again, it was such a strong time in her career.

I remember so well when it came out. The video was on MTV non stop, to the point where I got sick of the song at one point. But now I can go back and enjoy it again, its just one of her best produced songs, and has aged superbly

she had totally lost me as a fan in the early 90s with 2 mediocre but not totally bad albums (Erotica and Bedtime Stories) + the Evita mess
but she was back at her very best with Frozen, her best single of the 1990s, and a total re-invention agree Billie Eilish's stuff is a bit Frozen-esque |

It was a total re-invention that worked very well, as much as i love frozen i much prefer the power of goodbye as a song but Frozen was the best choice for comeback/lead single for ray of light.

If you were a fan of Madonna in the 80s with Like a Virgin, True Blue and Like a Prayer
sure Erotica/Bedtime Stories was a let down, there is no way anybody in the world think the quality is there same I hated the Evita soundtrack and especially her cover of Don't cry for me Argentina |

Erotica is actually a huge fan favourite .
Like A Virgin is regarded as one of her worst even though it was huge. I was a fan back then !! |

I agree erotica and bedtime stories aren’t as strong as some of her albums but still in a different league to some of her more recent output such as MDNA and rebel heart which weren’t very good at all. |
