Who got it wrong? Who won't be back next year? Who could've snatched victory from the jaws of defeat? Who should have done worse but been a sacrifice to make the show not quite as dull? Any and all of these questions will be asked in this thread here.
I will stake my claim now that Denmark should have sent this: And Belarus could have delivered us this track of life I don't know if either of them would have got through but still, would've livened up proceedings a bit tonight. In terms of potential flight risks, I am concerned Macedonia could make like Croatia and give up. |

Macedonia is the only one of tonight's DNQs in danger of withdrawing as they very nearly did this year and could possibly put off a Croatian return. Then again Serbia's qualification will be positive in this aspect! On the other hand, Albania's participation should be safe for another year thanks to their qualification.

It's a shame Macedonia didn't get through, it was a good song but it just didn't come across particularly well on stage. Either way, hope they don't pull out - perhaps a return by Bosnia/Croatia could convince them to carry on?

I think unless a Central European country wins it again this year, Czech Republic will miss 2016.

I'm not so sure, if the results of the semis show they were close I think they'll be spirited enough to try again.

I think they'll have come 11th or 12th which will be very heartbreaking but will be positive for another Czech participation. Certainly can't see them any lower than 14th which is still well above the dreaded bottom two that they've being trying to get out of before.

Yeah they probably were mere points away from qualifying. The reception was great, they came across really well... just not well enough to fight Nadav for attention They are doing it the San Marino way. Can they send them again next year (and the following year if they DNQ again)?

Just by turning up it was going to be their best result ever (highest they've ever come is 18th and it's a 17 song semi) but even then, I think the Czechs shouldn't be two disheartened by this result. Plus, it's not like San Marino where the talent pool consists of three people, I'm sure there's a Czech qualifier in that country somewhere.

I believe Czech Republic will be gone even if they are 11th, interest is so low there and a DNQ surely will see the end of this "experiment". San Marino will probably hang in for another year.

I'm hoping Czech Rep will carry on - the fact that Latvia and Israel got through should prove that with the right song it's possible - their song just got lost in a sea of ballads !

If they'd had Poland or Cyprus's slot I think they'd have made it

Don't give up Czech Republic! Austria withdrew, returned after a short break and won not too long after.

I don't think a Bosnia return would be enough for Macedonia to stay. Politically talking, Macedonia seem to be completely alienated by all of its neighbours and other surrounding countries, so I can't imagine seeing them be influenced by one.... Hopefully I am wrong though, Macedonia have given us some great songs. Like Mojot Svet <3

I think Macedonia will probably go, now it's been revealed they were 2nd bottom in the semi.

If early reports are true then we could be getting Ukraine AND Turkey back next year so there's that at least.
I am worried about Macedonia, especially now it's been revealed their jury votes were thrown out. |

I think it's just that reports from Ukraine are appearing now, not that new stuff from Turkey's shown up. Potentially positive moves from Croatia as well.
I think Macedonia will stick out, they are the sort of country that will do that, and if they strop out after being the only Balkan country not to qualify that's not particularly sporting. Montenegro couldn't qualify to save their lives a while back and they've just got 2 in a row. |

Germany will probably have a shake up of their national final. I can at least see the wildcard getting the boot!

Germany will probably have a shake up of their national final. I can at least see the wildcard getting the boot! I don't really see any reason for the wildcard thing to be removed outside of sheer bitterness towards Ann, it'd basically just be limiting their options for no reason. They should probably change their selection but that means adding stuff to it, not just removing. It is such a pity that things have gone so badly for them in recent years, they had such a good run and I would not have predicted them to go back to struggling for 3 years in a row. It was really encouraging to see them and Italy performing so well but this year was one of those complete washouts for Big 5 countries again, Italy aside. It's pretty depressing, I really thought we could get to 2+ Big 5 countries performing well consistently but apparently 2012 was a miracle. |
