Twice Festival placed (Albert Bartlett/RSA); far from impressive when odds-on for his seasonal return at Sandown (scrapped home). Given a wind op/break, produced a far more convincing run when winning Cotswold Chase; merits close consideration.

About:

Top-class chaser; won all his three (Grade 1) completed starts last season, only failure came in this (unseated first). Bounced back with two Grade 1 wins; not quite managed to match his best form this season; second to Delta Work last time.

Dual Festival winner (Pertemps/RSA); beaten favourite in this last year (eighth) having not been seen over fences since winning the RSA (never travelling well). Brought along steadily this year, only third to Delta Work/Kemboy last time; work to do.

Good Festival record; won the Pertemps Hurdle prior to finishing third in last year's RSA (Santini second). Needed the outing on reappearance, since taken the two Grade 1's (Savills Chase/Irish Gold Cup); 6-8 over fences, jumps/stays well, shortlist.

A frequent Festival visitor (runner-up Albert Bartlett/RSA) he's often come up short at this level but bounced back to his best last time in the Grade 1 Savills Chase. Gave Delta Work a fair race (had the run of the race); stamina doubts remain.

One of two runners from this yard he's a progressive chaser having won the Troytown (handicap debut) at Navan plus a Grade 2 (Red Mills) at Gowran Park last month. Overcame the drop back in trip (2m4f) last time; needs to improve but lively outsider.
