BuzzJack Music Forum _ Pop _ Enrique Iglesias - SUBEME LA RADIO + Matt Terry Remix!

Posted by: rafik4u 25th May 2017, 12:56 PM

Already a hit worldwide in Spanish and non-Spanish speaking countries and achieved 333M views on Youtube so far.

It entered Spotify UK today for the first time at #190 and currently sits at #81 on iTunes UK.

Can this become the next Despacito and non-English track to become a hit in the UK without a Bieber feature?

Posted by: danG 25th May 2017, 01:20 PM

Not a bad song, and I'm all for more Spanish language songs being chart hits. Though I must say his own 'Bailando' is better, that should've been a big UK hit and probably would be if it got released about now.

Posted by: mdh (ft. Quavo) 25th May 2017, 10:06 PM

Bailando was great, loved the Sean Paul version - one of my songs of 2014. Last year's DUELE EL CORAZON was also a banger, shame that couldn't break through either.

I doubt this'll do anything, but for what it's worth it's another solid track from Enrique.

Posted by: rafik4u 26th May 2017, 09:06 AM

I also believe Bailando and Duele el Corazon were far better but this one is still a jam.

By the way thanks for adding the music video from youtube here, I don't know why I couldn't. Still a beginner user of this forum. biggrin.gif

Today Subeme La Radio reaches new peaks despite of the new Friday releases/Throwback Thursday playlist on Spotify.

This is such a good song, I love a bit of Enrique!

Semi-English Remix featuring Sean Paul out this week, one of the first to properly capitalize on Despacito's success and could even impact the chart. Not as good as Bailando though (to mimic everyone else laugh.gif)

!! I think it was me and Dan that mentioned a while ago that a Sean Paul remix of one of these Spanish songs was imminent, looks like we were right *.* laugh.gif

I would absolutely LOVE this to be a hit now omfg

Posted by: Lenny 14th July 2017, 11:42 AM

This has real potential now to smash the English speaking market wub.gif

Posted by: Tombo 18th July 2017, 10:29 AM

This needs to be big, I have loved it since the start!

Posted by: Joe. 18th July 2017, 10:41 AM

Wow at Matt Terry getting on this. Huge strings pulled by Syco.

Posted by: danG 18th July 2017, 10:46 AM

Matt Terry? laugh.gif Will he be singing in Spanish then, would be an odd first move for an XF winner.

Posted by: rafik4u 19th July 2017, 01:01 PM

Debut at #1 replacing Despacito I hope wub.gif

Posted by: danG 19th July 2017, 01:14 PM

It 100% won't debut at #1. Despacito couldn't even do that and it features King of Charts, Justin Bieber. tongue.gif

Posted by: Defaze 20th July 2017, 02:23 AM

Christ, this is nauseatingly trend-chasing. Although I do love Sean Paul, I hope this flops miserably.

Posted by: awardinary 20th July 2017, 11:32 PM

Ok so I've just heard it...

Matt Terry gets about 10 seconds vocals and they're all in... English... not Spanish. unsure.gif

It's definitely sounding like a Despacito II but I think it's going to do ok chartwise.

I have to say I was expecting something much better though with Matt Terry involved. huh.gif

Posted by: Liаm 21st July 2017, 12:53 AM

I can't speak for whether this remix improves or detracts from the original as I didn't hear it until now but Matt sounds awful on this :/ He sounds like he's doing Enrique karaoke on a Saturday night in a back alley karaoke bar lmao, it's not great to be his first proper release. Tears was a risk for Louisa as a feature but it put her out there with a bang, and you still knew it was her, this could be any given male feature it's just that he happens to be Brtish.

I hope this doesn't smash just because of Despacito, there is a whole range of Spanish music so I hope that only ones that sound like Despacito mark II don't smash laugh.gif

Posted by: Tombo 21st July 2017, 07:37 AM

I've not yet heard the remix with Matt Terry so I can't comment on whether it is a Despacito mark 2 but the orginal definitely isn't, it is quite distinct. I really enjoyed the song on its original release so I eagerly await listening to the remix when I finish work today.

Posted by: Cameron 21st July 2017, 08:18 AM

This is a bit awful

Posted by: Lenny 21st July 2017, 09:38 AM

I barely noticed Matt on that new version laugh.gif He definitely does the 2nd verse... is he joining in on the chorus a la Bieber?

Posted by: 360Jupiter 21st July 2017, 09:55 AM

Eesh. This is like Cheryl Cole's 'feature' on will.i.am's Check It Out when all she did was appear in the video and wave her arms while miming.

You're welcome tongue.gif

Matt's inclusion is... pointless really. However, it's given the song a spot on Capital FM's playlist, so it's obviously beneficial to Enrique because it opens doors in the UK that would otherwise be shut. It's beneficial to Matt because he gets his name on a hit. It makes sense for both parties even if on a song level it does sound pointless laugh.gif

Otherwise, it's a solid song, I've not heard the original before so this is my first experience of it, and it's very catchy! Would like to see it catch on.

Posted by: blacksquare 21st July 2017, 01:10 PM

This is ridiculous

Can we get someone on Chantaje please, song deserves to smash here

I am so glad Enrique has been playlisted on Capital, he dserves another hit, it has been too long since I'm A Freak. His S&L album is incredible and one of my favourite and most-played albums of the 2010s

Fair play to Syco - they are so good at teaming up their XF flops to try and get a hit - Kelly Clarkson/Ben Haenow, Olly/Louisa, Enrique/Matt Terry.

Posted by: Shaphne 23rd July 2017, 11:52 AM

Matt's had one single prior to this, and it was a Christmas one which has a short shelf life, it's way to early to call him a flop.
Also, SHH was Ben's first single too, Simething I Need was a decent hit before it.

Posted by: Jonjo 24th July 2017, 09:24 AM

I've seen him do a couple of performances of this and he really can't pull it off. Which is a shame. I feel like he screams the chorus. Hopefully he'll get something more suited to his vocals to sell the album. He has potential. But as for the studio version, I really like it!

Posted by: 13 Beaches 24th July 2017, 07:52 PM

This is a bit of a Spanishy bop tbf

Posted by: pippa 24th July 2017, 08:04 PM

Number 16 in the first set of midweek chart information we received today. It is nice to welcome Enrique back to this region of the chart as it has been a while.

Posted by: mdh 24th July 2017, 09:33 PM

This is doing bloody well so far, considering its lack of airplay.

Posted by: JosephStyles 24th July 2017, 09:39 PM

It's getting pretty high rotation on Capital tbf!

Ah, that must be why then! biggrin.gif Still, nearly #4 on iTunes combined after 3 days is very impressive, airplay or not, hope it smashes.

Posted by: cq(uavo)merqn 24th July 2017, 10:41 PM

It's already receiving a lot of airplay. Heard it on Heart and a local radio station a few times today.

Posted by: pippa 25th July 2017, 01:51 PM

Climbing again on iTunes. A top 15 debut looks reasonably possible this week.

Subeme La Radio > Despacito > Chantaje > Mi Gente

Unpopular opinion?

Nope, that's exactly how I'd rank them!

really? for me
Chantaje >>>>>>x1000 >>>>>>>>>>> Subeme la radio>>>>>> Despacito

Posted by: Liаm 27th July 2017, 06:47 PM

Chantaje shits on all of them from a great height. It actually sounds like its own song for one laugh.gif

Posted by: Tombo 28th July 2017, 11:46 AM

Subeme La Radioa > Despacito > Chantaje

I don't know Mi Gente or who it is by.

Bicicleta is a good one too!
