Whilst we're revisiting 00s dance in the chart forum, it's time we ranked the biggest dance hits of the 2000s.
The top 15 best-selling dance songs of each year in the UK have been selected, simply rank them from +15 (favourite) to +01 (least favourite) and the top four of each group will be put into a grand final. The deadline will be set for next Saturday (or whenever I remember to do results). 2001 Coming towards the start of the decade now and 2001 was quite a big year for garage, house and trance. Garage would get big hits courtesy of So Solid Crew, DJ Pied Piper, Mis-Teeq & Sunship and Daniel Bedingfield & D'n'D. More clubby trance came from Rui Da Silva, N-Trance, PPK and Riva whilst the more poppy form came from Fragma and two appearances from Ian Van Dahl. Funky house was represented by Supermen Lovers and other house styles came from Jakatta, iiO and Roger Sanchez. +14 Roger Sanchez - Another Chance [outstanding house tune, one of the best from the early 00s] +13 Rui da Silva feat. Cassandra - Touch Me [brilliant trance anthem as is Castles] +12 Ian Van Dahl - Castles In The Sky +11 Supermen Lovers feat. Mani Hoffman - Starlight [really upbeat and groovy] +10 DJ Pied Piper and the Masters of Ceremonies - Do You Really Like It [bit on the novelty side this but I enjoy it a lot for what it is] +09 Jakatta - American Dream [lush] +08 Daniel Bedingfield - Gotta Get Thru This (D'n'D Mix) +07 iiO - Rapture +06 Riva feat. Dannii Minogue - Who Do You Love Now? (Stringer) +05 N-Trance - Set You Free 2001 +04 Mis-Teeq - All I Want (Sunship Mix) +03 So Solid Crew - 21 Seconds [decent tune but it goes on for far too long] +02 Fragma feat. +15 N-Trance - Set You Free 2001 - So euphoric, I prefer this to the original as it adds more energy and makes the euphoric chorus stand out more.
+14 Riva feat. Dannii Minogue - Who Do You Love Now? (Stringer) - dark brooding trance song, very atmospheric! +13 Fragma feat. Maria Rubia - Everytime You Need Me - remember hearing this at the time at a train station in Glasgow on a school trip there and liked it, love it now, Maria Rubia has a nice voice in it plus it is a lovely song. A shame Fragma's next song after this 'You Are Alive' which I also really liked at the time doesn't make the list. +12 PPK - Resurection - Definitely one of my favourite trance instrumentals of the early 00s. +11 Rui da Silva feat. Cassandra - Touch Me - brilliant mix of funky house and trance influences, a great dance anthem. +10 Ian Van Dahl - Will I? - Really like this and the big room sound of the synths. +9 Ian Van Dahl - Castles In The Sky - Very good vocal trance tune. +8 Roger Sanchez - Another Chance - Very good deep house track, lovely and relaxing. I remember this from the time and liked it. +7 Mis-Teeq - All I Want (Sunship Mix) - Really like this especially Alesha's rap! Nice and funky. +6 iiO - Rapture - Very good tune, I like the bassline and Nadia's vocal, still prefer Avicii's remix of the Nadia Ali version though. +5 DJ Pied Piper and the Masters of Ceremonies - Do You Really Like It - Remember this a lot from my childhood especially other pupils in my primary school singing the chorus in the playground. Very good tune. +4 Daniel Bedingfield - Gotta Get Thru This (D'n'D Mix) - Remember this from the time and really liked it, still do. +3 Supermen Lovers feat. Mani Hoffman - Starlight - Good tune especially Mani's voice but there are better funky house songs in the early-mid 00s I think. +2 Jakatta - American Dream - Like this but it has suffered in my poll by by being in a still relevant deep house style, I generally seem to prefer the songs in these polls from genres that don't have hits any more. +1 So Solid Crew - 21 Seconds - As danG said it goes on too long and I also think the production is a bit boring and minimal. Ho-ly Sheet. This round is actually a joke, by far the strongest we've had so far & that is saying something! My entire top 8 are incredible

Cassandra - Touch Me [2001 was one of the best ever years for #1 singles!] +13: PPK - Resurection [one of the coolest songs I've ever heard] +12: Ian Van Dahl - Castles In The Sky +11: Daniel Bedingfield - Gotta Get Thru This (D'n'D Mix) [a song I scream at the top of my lungs] +10: iiO - Rapture +09: DJ Pied Piper and the Masters of Ceremonies - Do You Really Like It [yes! yes I do!] +08: Supermen Lovers feat. Mani Hoffman - Starlight [this was such a great song when I was a kid & adored the vid for it] +07: Mis-Teeq - All I Want (Sunship Mix) +06: So Solid Crew - 21 Seconds +05: Fragma feat. Maria Rubia - Everytime You Need Me +04: Riva feat. Dannii Minogue - Who Do You Love Now? (Stringer) +03: Jakatta - American Dream [the middle piano part is the best bit but it's a very solid track all round] +02: N-Trance - Set You Free 2001 [much weaker than the classic original but a nice spin-off of it] +01: Ian Van Dahl - Will I?
