So after weeks and weeks of voting you guys at Buzzjack have decided your winner which is "What Makes You Beautiful", which means that "Story Of My Life" loses the final battle and finishes in the runner up spot with a whopping 17 votes, which may have not been a close battle, but it has put up a great fight throughout the 13 rounds , with 0 votes for the first 7 rounds and even up until the 12th round it never scored more than 5 votes, but in the end it was beaten to the post by their fantastic debut. "Story Of My Life" was released in October 2013 as the 2nd single from their 3rd album "Midnight Memories" and marked a new direction for the boys, showing their more mature side and often compared to Mumford and Sons. Upon release it received acclaim by both fans and critics and became an instant chart smash. It entered the UK charts at #4 and then climbed to #3 and ended up peaking at #2 becoming their 9th top 10 hit, despite being predicted to top the charts, which is such a shame, but overall the track spent 10 weeks in the top 10 and to date sold roughly 580,000 copies, their 2nd biggest selling single to date. In the USA it climbed to #6 becoming their 4th top 10 hit there and has sold over 2 million units over there. Elsewhere it topped the charts in Bulgaria, Denmark, Ireland, Lebanon, Mexico, New Zealand and Spain, then top 5 in Australia, Belgium, Canada, Greece, Israel, Netherlands, Scotland, Turkey and Italy and also top 10/20 peaks in 11 other countries, therefore becoming another smash hit for the boys.

So now lets talk about our winner the ever fantastic and brilliant "What Makes You Beautiful" which gained just 7 votes in the final and again has remained popular throughout the rounds with 6 rounds of 0 votes and no more than 1 for the first 9. Released as their debut single in September 2011 and really set the tone of what's to come from these upcoming global mega superstars in the making. The boys were put straight to work after finishing 3rd on X Factor and this became one of the first songs recorded for their debut album and was the obvious choice for their first single. Since it's release it has become their signature tune and won the 2012 Brit Award for Best British Single and became an instant #1 smash hit in the UK and going on to sell over 900,000 copies, becoming their biggest selling single to date and cemented their status worldwide by becoming a smash hit in the USA by reaching #4, bringing them instant fame over there, elsewhere it topped the charts in Ireland, Mexico and Scotland, and elsewhere it hit top 10 peaks in New Zealand, Japan, Brazil, Australia, Belgium and Canada. Worldwide it has become one of the all time biggest selling singles by selling 7 million copies worldwide.
