BuzzJack Music Forum _ UK Charts _ Predict: Cheryl - Only Human

Posted by: Only Human 7th March 2015, 07:51 PM

'Only Human' is the third single from Cheryl's latest album 'Only Human'.
Out 22nd March.

It's already peaked at #70 when Cheryl performed live on Children in Need back in November.
Haven't really heard it on any radio stations yet and Cheryl doesn't seem to have promote as much as she should so I think it depends on how much promotion she does around the release date as the song is one of her best as of yet.
Plus there's a club radio mix that's being released as well as the album version (people who have the album and are fans of Cheryl may buy the new version).

Outside top 40 cry.gif

Deserves to be at least top 5 though sad.gif

big flop. Will go top 60 from fanbase buys then fall out completely the following week

Posted by: ETH▲N 7th March 2015, 07:59 PM

Streaming will ensure 'Only Human' gets nowhere near the top forty~

Posted by: Joe. 7th March 2015, 08:23 PM

31 - 40

Posted by: JosephStyles 7th March 2015, 08:29 PM

Being snubbed by radio so outside the top 40 sadly. What a shame for a great song.

Posted by: SLlewellyn 7th March 2015, 08:38 PM

Really strange that radio are snubbing Cheryl given that this track follows two consecutive #1 records (which none of the other album eras have produced). Actually yet to hear the track, but with streaming in play and a lack of radio support, I can see this peaking in the #41-60 region.

Posted by: BlazingLovatic 7th March 2015, 11:45 PM

Like #50, unless Capital & Radio 1 decide to play it for a 2nd time sleep.gif

I'm almost certain that something is going on behind the scenes, because even between 10's of other radio stations, only three of them (The Hits Radio, 106.3 Bridge FM & 3FM) have played this song more than THREE TIMES in THIRTY DAYS. Her husband commenting on Instagram about the single not being supported and mentioning Modest (her management) + Universal (label group) only elevates my suspicions.

Posted by: MrIndependent 8th March 2015, 12:19 AM

I can't see how it will go top 40.

Posted by: Mart!n 8th March 2015, 12:24 AM

Let's put this rather blunt, nowhere near the 40, Jess Glynne will probably do better than her, plus left it too late to release a third single.

Posted by: ___∆___ 8th March 2015, 01:00 AM

Sadly going to flop hard also added to the fact it's already sold several thousand and charted on the back of the CIN performace. With lack of promo and radio support her fanbase can probably get this to #55 as streaming will hammer this down the charts.

If she gets a few decent promo slots could scrape in at low Top 40 but again it's going to seriously suffer from streaming... Will probably be #23 in the first mids and slump to #56 by the Sunday laugh.gif

Maybe she could do a 'Beautiful Cause You Love Me' and pretend it never happened and the GA fans can claim it was a promo single only?!

Posted by: suggy 8th March 2015, 08:09 AM

It reminds me of the Enya tracks that were on Lord Of The Rings.

Posted by: Šþimiŋğ Åđɑ& 8th March 2015, 11:09 AM

Haha, better chance for Owl City to get another #1 kink.gif
I prediced 31-40 but come to think of it I suggest that for sales only. I think about 41-60 for combined thinking.gif

Posted by: Eric_Blob 8th March 2015, 12:20 PM

Well, it's #391 on iTunes atm, and it's release week is in 2 weeks. I think it'll miss the top 40, unless the remix exceeds expectations and boosts it a load. It's not getting any significant radio airplay, so there's no way most people are going to know the song even exists.

Posted by: Gage 8th March 2015, 12:24 PM

Reminds me of Imogen Heap with the effects on her voice.

Posted by: ThePensmith 8th March 2015, 12:55 PM

It's a great track, one of her best actually and from a really good album. But yeah this will flop given she just relies on turning up looking demure on late night chat shows for about 5 minutes these days and not doing that thing she used to do - y'know, actually performing the song? She will have only herself to blame if this tanks.

Posted by: Only Human 9th March 2015, 09:09 PM

Really hope she pulls out all the stops and goes overtime on the promo... but that's never going to happen sad.gif shame as it's one of her best songs cry.gif

Posted by: gavindeejay 9th March 2015, 09:18 PM

31-40 in sales, outside the Top 40 officially. This should of been released as the second single instead of 'I Don't Care' imo.

Posted by: Mango 9th March 2015, 09:23 PM

I can't believe the sub-title says "Will Cheryl achieve her 6th solo #1 single?", suggesting that it even has a remote chance. It would be nice for it to go Top 40 but realistically I'm thinking Top 60.

Posted by: Lukuzz 9th March 2015, 09:43 PM

31-40, surely she has enough of a fanbase to at least manage that?

Posted by: mr_aly 9th March 2015, 09:44 PM

I think it might marginally improve on its current #70 peak.

It's annoying that she's had some really shit songs get high peaks and this won't.

Posted by: SevenSeize 9th March 2015, 09:56 PM

I think she'll make it to between #31-40.

Posted by: Jay ジ 10th March 2015, 08:01 AM

Also went for 31-40. ( sad.gif )

Posted by: ___∆___ 10th March 2015, 10:34 AM

Anyone know if Cheryl is bothering to do any promo or has any TV confirmed? I really think this will be a #39 smash if she can multi sell to her fanbase with physicals and remixes.

Posted by: JosephStyles 10th March 2015, 10:35 AM

No promo by the looks of things, apparently it's the fault of her management drama.gif No physicals either, she's not had them since The Flood.

The only appearances she's making that have been confirmed is Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway and Comic Relief (both sketches - no performances confirmed).

They should just pull this release - Cheryl could easily get as much TV as she wanted but doesn't seem bothered, Radio are not touching it despite it following up 2 #1 singles so not much point in releasing it...

I agree. The negative publicity that this flopping will garner is not worth the 1000 sales that it's going to get.
It was released in Ireland yesterday and lasted in the iTunes top 100 for about an hour.

The Irish performance is a good indication of how it will do in the UK cry.gif The media will love the fact that this will scrape Top 75 and focus on the album album flopping too, Something has seriously gone wrong with her Management - They are not even tweeting that it's released tomorrow!

Posted by: Dobbo 21st March 2015, 03:06 PM

Well whatever happens they'll just harp on back about the 2 #1's.

Posted by: Šþinniŋğ Åđɑ 21st March 2015, 07:16 PM

Wouldn't surprise me if they cancelled this release like The Nights tbh kink.gif

Posted by: buzz_person 22nd March 2015, 12:22 AM

It seems like Polydor was willing to make an effort with two singles with each album era (except, of course, her debut) and that's it. The difference is that I Don't Care reached number 1 and sold better than The Flood and Under The Sun, so I would think that the label and management would be motivated with the third single. I wonder if the situation might have been different if it was something like Stars, All In One Night or Coming Up For Air.

Delta Goodrem has a single out now on Amazon with the same title. Is it the same thing? I believe she will sing it on the 30 years of Neighbours on Channel 5. It will clearly cause some confusion!

No they're different songs entirely tongue.gif I doubt it'd cause any confusion, as I doubt many people will be buying a new Delta single 10 years after she was last relevant in the UK, Neighbours or no Neighbours.

I had no idea she had 5 solo numbers 1s. ohmy.gif

I think it's different in this scenario as this time they were both pre-album singles, but 'Under The Sun' and the incontinence song were both post-album (like 'Only Human').
